Well, this seals the deal. Another national championship for UGA(6 straight now, right ?)and at least 15 consecutive wins over Tech. I’m sure this will also start a 5 win stretch over UF. How can any team compete with UGA now ?

Typical ugay response-”every school in the country wanted him but he chose the best” well we all know that the thugs, dealers, rapists and drunks all choose ugay because coach lets them do whatever they want and the entire trailer park holds them in high regards as long as they play ball for the red and black..fathers offer thier daughters to the players saying “she’s pretty good me and my boy had her last night” great offensive lineman in highschool does not translate to great offensive lineman in college, nor does it mean a national championship is headed your way-we all see ugay and the other sec(ond) conference schools names in the news these days and it’s not for anything other than recruiting violations or some other infraction-so congrats you bought another football player who in 4 years may or not make it into the NFL, either way he will live in a trailer in athens waiting on the next ugay saviour to offer his daughter to

If you were to stop doing “calculus” all the time and occasionally spend time reading, you would know that it was reported over 3 weeks ago that Ealey qualified. Are you disappointed? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Regarding the “big School” signing 5 extra, would you be including tech basketball? You know, the team that failed the minimum NCAA apr and lost 2 scholarships. The same team where many wonder if their top signee, Derrick Favors, will make the grade to gain admittance. To date he hasn’t made an acceptable SAT. Would tech qualify as one of your “big Schools”? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

It is sort of like…REALLY…who is another Georgia grad (???) who has difficulty comprehending what he/she reads. For the final time, a story on the AJC…about any subject…that has a blog response…is not and will never be a GEORGIA BLOG. Just like that http://www.gatorsports.com (The Gainesville Sun) is not a FLORIDA BLOG. Nowhere does any story on the AJC say that blog responses are limited to Georgia grads or Georgia fans or both. I think the AJC management would take issue with anyone that states that this or any other story about Georgia is limited to Georgia fans or grads. THIS IS MY LAST COMMENT ON THIS ISSUE. Please show more intelligence in the future…and if you really believe this, please don’t go on the stories about the TECH recruits and blast the Techsters with you brainless insults, etc. It is sort of like going to church on Sunday and stealing rubber bands from your employer on Monday.

The truth…it seems that several of you Georgia grads (???) have difficulty reading a short text and comprehending what you read. Please re-read please and tell me where I said that “Florida has a better academic record than Georgia.” I simply responded to another Georgia grad??? who stated that it was a fact that Florida was at the bottom in graduating players, which is not a fact. I never said Florida was better academically than Georgia. The fact is, Florida and Georgia both have high academic standards for the general student populations. For your knowledge, every football player that is accepted into Florida has to meet, first, the NCAA requirements for entry, which means that the players high school academic records and SAT/ACT/or other knowledge assessment scores are found to be valid. Marsh meet those requirements and the university standards for athletes, which we all know are below the standard requirements for other students at all SEC schools…even Vandy. By the way, speech fluency has nothing to do with intelligence (more to do with, cultural, social and economic background experience and knowledge…and sometimes it can be a physical limitation). I, too, have heard Marsh speak. He appears to have a physical limitation as far as speech is concern, and it has nothing to do with his intelligence. But…the truth…the lack of comprehension skill does have something to do with intelligence. So does racial prejudice, by the way.

Hey Tampa Gator, You bettter check your facts before you start stating that Florida has a better academic record than Georgia. According to the latest SEC figures…Georgia leads the conference( Vandy was second) in graduating thier players over the last six years. Florida was fifth,which covers the time that Meyer has been your coach.I still want to know how Lawerence Marsh got in Florida. Georgia,Clemson,S. Carolina and Alabama quit recruiting him because his high school grades were so bad…Are you going to tell me he’s a dean’s list student at Florida! Last time I heard him speak he couldn’t even put a complete sentence together…It doesn’t pass the smell test….I’d love to know what his major is!

I heard this young man on 1010XL sports talk in Jax about 2-3 hours ago.
The hosts just could not get over the fact that he chose UGA when he could have gone to Gatorland or any school that he wanted to,icluding USC,all of whom recruited him real hard.And yes Tampaboy he did vist UF and Ohio State and etc…etc.Said he felt at home at UGA,loved the coachs and the town.This young guy was very well spoken and sounds to be a nice addition to the team and told the hosts other schools,including UF, would be wasting thier time trying to get him to change his mind

I’m thinking that since the AJC is in the state of GEORGIA and 99% of the readers here in the state are interested in UGA, Ga State, Ga Southern, and the Bugs girls, that it’d be somewhat a waste of time for them to even blog about something going on down in Gaytorville. Georgia always gets really good players out of Florida. Nothing new there. We always look forward to seeing them in Jax every year. Of course, you have to have talent, but the most important thing is what you do when you get on campus and developing yourself into an elite player. This guy has all of the initial ingredients.

The Bulldogs, and especially assistant Stacy Searels, have reason to bask in the afterglow today after landing a commitment from Bolles School offensive tackle Brent Benedict of Jacksonville. They snatched him away from notable adversaries Florida, Alabama, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Clemson. Last week, Bulldogs fans rejoiced over beating the Gators to top receiver Da’Rick Rogers. Here’s what the experts are saying about the Benedict coup: “This is a monster pickup for Georgia,” said Jamie Newberg of Rivals. “To go down to the Sunshine State and pull one of the top linemen in the nation is huge. They beat Florida in their own backyard, USC and others. Benedict is an exceptional offensive line prospect that’s nasty, has great size, feet and athleticism. The Dawgs have really picked it up in Florida.” According to Scout.com South Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons, “Benedict is an aggressive offensive linemen that finishes his blocks, that understands blocking schemes, that can run block, that can pass protect, and that has a high level of intelligence. There are not many faults in his game, but his arm length is a minor concern at tackle. He is one of the best in the country.” Rivals’ Barry Evrey, one of the sharper analysts in the game, raved about Benedict, who is rated the No. 5 offensive tackle by his organization and the ninth-best by scout.com. “He’s one of the most athletic big men that I’ve ever seen. Period,” Evrey said. “He’s got a 30-inch vertical jump and off the line of scrimmage he is a legitimate 5.0 or faster. He can fly. Georgia does not have anyone [among the linemen] on the team who is this athletic.” Benedict told the Sporting News what he learned by playing at Bolles in Jacksonville, what has made him one of the great pickups from the Class of 2010. “I think I have worked hard and I’ve had the coaching in this program to develop myself,” Benedict said. “I’m pretty well-rounded as a player and as a person in general.
