But go ahead, keep whistling past that graveyard. And to the poster who said UT has 37 arrests during the same 4 year span that UF has 24…nice try. UT has 19, not 37. Not only is UF outrunning UT, they lead the state of Florida, as FSU has 13 and Miami has a whopping 2. Congrats UF, the title of Thug U belongs to you now.

Oh, Georgia fans, i haven’t forgotten you…30 arrests from 2005 to 2009. Are you adding a probation officer to the staff of St. Richt?

UT’s program is turning into a house of cards, it will be great watching that fall apart. UT not only leads the conference in violations, they also lead the conference in defections. Not only are the players jumping this sinking ship, assistant coaches are getting the heck out of Knoxville too. Things are great in Knoxville though right?

ESPN is a joke….Tennessee is their flavor of the day and are getting sickening in there coverage of them. Did it to UGA years ago…Harrick and next year it will be someone else. These are minor infractions that every program has….just really picking on UT for now. Funny thing is it seems to be backfiring on ESPN if they are really after UT. Where is there reports on the Ohio States, etc with all the minor infractions. For that matter….UGA has quite a few, and everyone else. I am just a fan of the SEC…..from SC and find it sickening of their coverage.

I didn’t read all comments so forgive me if I am repeating someone. But will someone please acknowledge the fact that while they do have a news channel, ESPN (Entertainment and Sports Prgramming Network) is primarily set up for entertainment. They are not a news organization and you would think a newspaper would recognize that instead of hiding behind the fact it so respectably quit voting in the AP poll, though it still forms its on polls, like for high school football…and reports on these schools. Essentially there is no difference in the polls since the AP no longer determines who plays in the MNC. Hmmm?

Amazing how the UGA fans are blasting Kiffin about the violations when their Saint Richt is right there in the same boat. Amazing how a guy with all that experience and piety can have the same level of infractions as lil’ ol’ Kiffin. How’s that National Title coming over there in Athens? What’s the excuse on winning the ring – or NOT in Richt’s case? Urban’s got himself 2. Mediocrity is the name of the game in pup land. Perhaps when UGA overcomes their downward spiral, UGA fans can justifiably mock someone else. Even if they themselves aren’t guilty of equal amounts of violations…odd that so much experience leads to that…

News FLASH! Kiffy expelled gas this afternoon at exactly 3:59pm CST. ESPN, CNN, and the AJC have dispatched reporters to interview those present. AJC promises to have articles on this happening for the next 5 days. Recruits present said they were impressed with the volume and stench. One top un-named recruit said he now has real “love” for Kiffy and said that he ‘would gladly buy a beer for any man that could cut one like that’. Vol fans interviewed said they were really proud of Kiffy’s creativity. The NCAA released a statement that expelling gas is not a violation of NCAA rules. Should Kiffin come up with any acts with more class, the media will be on it immediately. Don’t worry folks, the Kiffy bafoon couldn’t possibly come up with anything demonstrating intelligence or class.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m a sports fan. No ties to Tennessee or any other SEC school. What I took from the ESPN piece was that Lane Kiffin is just not a likeable guy. He comes off as very immature. Very brash. I sympathized for him after what occurred in Oakland. But after watching this piece, ol’ Al may have got it right.

Just so hard to believe that while ESPN was filming away, NOBODY on the UT staff stopped to question what was going down. Apparently not a single one of them knows or cares about the rules. A fog machine is understandable. But having arguably the biggest sports news outlet covering your interaction with a recruit gives these guys no reason for pause.

Believe me, Kiffin doesn’t need anyone to “set him up”. He does a damn good job all by himself! All of this “publicity” is going to come back to haunt him and his program as usually happens in situations like this. In three years, both the Lane Train and his AD will be run out of town on rails via the Tennessee railroaders who did the same with Fulmer(who they now have nothing but good things to say about LOL… the coach that actually won some games and brought them a national championship).

First of all, it is Kiffins responsibility to know and abide by the rules, not ESPN. Second, Kiffin has already demonstrated time and time again that he has no clue AND no regard for the rules. I mean ANYONE who knows ANYTHING about recruiting knows you don’t mention a recruits name on a radio show!! Third, Tennessee fans are in no position to cast stones at ANY program based on their recent history both on and off the field. Vols fans like PaulC (or is it Paul “I’m too blind to C”) probably think it’s cute and clever that Kiffin is commiting all these “minor” NCAA violations for recruiting purposes but I’ll gaurantee you the NCAA sees no humor in it. And you can be sure that big NCAA microscope is focused directly on the Tennessee program. Stay tuned!
