Centennial offensive tackle David Yankey kicked off his tour of the Carolinas Thursday, dropping by the office of Steve Spurrier.
The South Carolina coach made an impression on the 6-foot-5, 275-pound rising senior.
“He just seemed like a cool guy and he’s a legendary coach,” Yankey told GamecockCentral.com. “We talked about how he has won at every school he has been at. I can tell he knows how to win along with the staff he has, so I’m not worried about not being able to win.”
Yankey, who recently received an offer from Georgia, is also expected to drop in on Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest before returning home.

Spurrier can win? Should read, “Spurrier USED to win.” If the kid thinks he’s gonna be joining a winning ball club in Columbia, maybe USC is the best place for him! WOW!

Spurrier knows “how” to win. He’s lazy though – He’d rather play golf at Augusta than work to push the innovation which kept him on top in the nineties.
Huh?

“We talked about how he has won at every school he has been at.”
Someone should inform this young man that the Ole Ball Coach is an absolutely abysmal 4-13 vs. the upper crust of the SEC (Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, Alabama, and Auburn) since his arrival in Columbia. Thanks.

Oh, and he’s also been owned by Clemson. I mean really, Clemson? That’s worth quite a few visor tossings if you ask me.

notice he said every school, not every team(Washington Redskins) and I wouldn’t really call USC winning.

Curious to see where this kid winds up. There is a few quality in state ot’s left on the board, all being recruited and/or offered by pretty much the same schools ACC and SEC. Bailey (lawrenceville) and Webster (Etowah)two more worth noting.

David. Please Google, “This is South Carolina Football” You will then know that no one has or will ever win at the COOT school. If you have any questions about Spurrier’s integrity, ask the coach at Tucker High School. It seems that Neither Spurrier nor anyone from his coaching staff is welcome at Tucker High School after pulling a scholly from a Tucker 4 star athlete last year. Regardless where you go to school, stay away from that cess pool.
