I don’t think that he could have jumped to another D1 program without sitting out a year. I believe there are exceptions made for some athletes, but that is in the fine print that I probably wouldn’t understand. I might be wrong, but someone with enough talent to perform how he did this spring would be able to compete at a lot of D1 schools.

Coleman self-defined that he was not an SEC QB by transferring to Chattanooga. The good news is that his dad is a former teammate and good friend of the new head coach at UTC. Coleman will be much better off at a school where he doesn’t have to compete for a starting job.
