it’s “diversity” stupid! athens is a great school and the campus is awesome. but for any “minority” it has to be perplexing. uga is the flagship university for the state, but it’s “under representation” of black students is dis-heartening. why do you think we can’t win at basketball, or at least be competitive. we can’t recruit kids who “know” about the state of race relations in america, or georgia for that matter. georgia will always get those football players who care only about what is available for them ie., facillities, exposure, women (which are in abundance) and manageable course load. the black athlete who goes to play for uga is thinking one thing, “professional football”. but there are some who want the pro career, but realize that the university may not have their best interest at heart. we still live in the era of dooley’s infamous remarks.

The School of History, Technology, and Society

The School of Literature, Communication, and Culture

The School of Modern Languages

The School of Public Policy

Please, dont come back. 2/That dump called Athens last week was named the 5th best city in America to live by Fortune magazine.. 3/ The average SAT scores for incoming Freshman to the two schools this fall are almost identical 4/Paul Johnson isnt exactly the life of the party, 5/Lastly, this is the one off season of the decade where Tech fans can bask in the thrill of a rare defeat of UGA and actually talk about FOOTBALL. Please, save the usual academic whining for the other 9 years when we kick your butt.

Most of these athletes at UgA are majoring in some major like Recreation and Leisure Studies, Speech, etc. What a total joke! At tech, they wouldn’t last one semester, since there are no mickey mouse majors to keep athletes eligible for 3-4 years, then they go work fast food!

I’m always amazed how fans react to a decision like this. Dont any of you people have/had kids this age? I refuse to have a meltdown or get offended because some 17 yr old doesnt like Athens. All of his schools except Maryland are good football schools, If he is making his choice based on the town that the campus is located in, however, only Chapel Hill on that list can hold a candle to Athens. If you cant have a good time in Athens, you arent trying very hard.

The person I really worry about is the “ex-Bulldog fan” above who suggested that the TECH campus was better than UGA. With a statement like that, you have to wonder if the dude has ever been either place. If the absolute worst part of Athens surrounded the campus (which of course it doesnt), then it might compare with the ghetto surrounding the Tech campus. The only thing Tech leads UGA in is crack houses and assaults.

Meh…I don’t see why signing a big name RB in 2010 is anything UGA fans should worry much about. Caleb King, Richard Samuel, Carlton Thomas, D. Jackson and Washaun Ealey should all be on the Dawgs roster for at least another 2 years. The only RB that could potentially be gone after next season is King, who I personally don’t see leaving early.

It’s funny how 1 win in 8 tries has not helped rid the Georgia Tech nerds of their intrinsic insecurity. These folks simply cannot keep themselves away from any article about UGA. It must be strange to live like that… Perhaps if Georgia Tech could string six or seven straight wins in a row over UGA, it might begin to improve their self-esteem. Sadly, that’s never going to happen.
