Dogs may learn cornerback’s decision Monday

Pahokee High in Florida is in the news again. One of its cornerbacks appears to be on the brink of making a commitment, and Georgia remains in the mix.

The Bulldogs are one of five finalists in the pursuit of Merrill Noel, a 5-foot-10, 180-pounder rated by as the 38th-best player at his position. The other schools Noel is considering are Florida State, Tennessee, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Georgia is a finalist, Noel told, because “I love the way they play defense. They play the type of defense that I like to play and that is bump-and-run.”

On the down side for Georgia is that Noel says that he and teammate Zachary Allen have a “very high” chance of picking the same school. Georgia isn’t on the list of finalists for Allen, a 6-2, 210-pound outside linebacker.

Both are expected to announce their decisions on Monday. The schools that overlap on Noel’s and Allen’s lists are Wake Forest and West Virginia. Allen also is reported to be considering Michigan and Purdue.

No kid in there right mind would pick Wake Forest or West Virginia over Georgia, must not be that good. Don’t need anymore 3rd string cornerbacks.

Typical Dawg no good, don’t need him, can’t play blah blah. Wake will get him a good degree and football.

Good player but FSU has been the leader for him for weeks now. Don’t think FSU ever offered his buddy though.

The last CB that came out of Pahokee and went to Wake just got taken in the 2nd round of the NFL draft. If the kid wants an education and wants to improve as a player and a person, he’ll come to Wake. If we wants to have a good shot of getting arrested, Athens is the perfect fit.

What is UGA trying to do, sign all the the two and three star players out of Florida? WE don’t need anymore small corners, hasn’t Richt looked at the size of receivers these days?

Considering WVU beat Georgia the last time they met, why wouldn’t he choose WVU over Georgia?

May 29th, 2009
11:06 pm

Yea , Greg Blue and Asher Allen sure showed Steve Slaton and Pat White what SEC ” speed ” was all about in the Sugar Bowl . WVU can whip UGA any day . Ask Auburn last year this year , then we play LSU the Next 2 years so we’ll soon see .

Their style of defense is “bump-and-run” alright. Bump em and watch em run all over your a$$. For 408 yards to be exact. 45-42!

Georgia? When was the last time the Bulldogs were relevant to winning college football. It sure wasn’t 2006 when West Virginia went up 28-0 on them in the Sugar Bowl before letting up and allowing them to get the score to 35 Gerogia, 38 West Virginia. Since the, WVU is 3-0 against SEC competition. This year against Auburn, ti will be 4-0.

Bross, You beat Auburn Wow! So did seven other teams, they only won five games last year! Yes WVU did beat UGA in 06 but WVU is not the same team that it was back then. And looking at your schedule from last year and who you lost to i really don’t think you would do the same thing that you did in 06. And by the way some of the other teams you named are not all that great anyway.

“Blah Blah Blah”! You got that right.

1. Blah (UGA gets hyped about possibly signing a multi star recruit)
2. Blah (UGA gets named number 1 and then gets embarrassed by Alabama 31-0, Florida 50 something to under ten, and then Georgia Tech in Athens 45-42)
3. Blah (UGA gets hyped about possibly signing a multi star recruit)

It never ends. You guys used to be good but are now you mediocre at best. Hell, your girls gymnastic and swim teams over shadow your football, basketball and baseball programs and your big bad football stadium with the worst playing field in the NCAA.

UGA was Florida’s, Alabama’s and Georgia Tech’s bitch last year. LOL. Get a defense and do something with all those 5 star players will you? LOL. O I forgot you can’t because you are STUPID (literally).

Speaking of bitches, Vandy has been everyones bitch in the SEC for so many years we lost count. When has vandy (with a little v) ever been a contender for the SEC Championship?? As for educational standards, I believe UGA has out performed the other SEC schools in acadimics according to the latest reports issued. Do your research bitch!

Hey kid, you better choose us and I guarantee you will be the first of firsts at gayturdland.

First in number of players arrested in a coaches first 4 years at a school.

First to have a coach And his daughter arrested.

First to have a coach that lies to recruits about other teams not wanting them.

First to tell rat out players on bogus SAT results because they signed elsewhere.

First to tell other players that TeBow was being recruited to play linebacker.

First to have their football HC recruit for the ladies gym team.

First to have their Heisman Trophy winner call recruits.

First to send their QB to see other recruits.

First to cry to Silve that CLK correctly calls their coach a cheater.

First to have a “little mermaid principal” pipelining high school kids to FU

West Vagina fans, the game lasts four quarters. D.J. owned you the last 40 minutes. The only chance you had to win was a fake punt inside of two minutes, because your offense was stopped and your defense was confused. Congratulations, but you barely escaped.

Jim Grobe has proven that he has assembled a staff that are masters in player development. The 2004 class, which was rated in the 80s by Rivals, is going to put about 40% of the class in the NFL.

The guy can coach, and recruits are starting to figure that out.

What I hate about these blogs is that it’s always

“My school’s better than your school!”
“Oh yeah?! Well we beat you the last time we played you!”
“Well your school sucks! Remember when they blew it on 4th and goal??”

And nobody ever gets anywhere

excuse me most of our corners are as tall or taller than this guy so STFHU becuz you seriously do not know jack about Georgia football and if you think that 5′10″ is too short to play corner crimson then you really need to go talk to your coach becuz saban is recruiting the same kids that Georgia is, so just remember that moron.

I’m a grad of an ACC school, but not WF. That said, when I consider WF, a small highly-respected school situated on a beautiful campus in a fine mid-size city, a select student body, and outstanding sports programs, I don’t think many schools can compete. If a football player has his head on straight, he would pick WF over both UGA and WVa.

Why don’t you WVU fans stick with burning couches and we’ll stick to playing football. By the way, I would hardly call an 82-22 record in 8 years “mediocre”! Mediocre is losing your coach to a crappy Michigan program and trying to win football games without Slaton and White.

Who cares, the weather is beautiful here in Colorado. West Va fans, your team did win in the sugar bowl that year. Hats off to that. You tech fans, your team did win this year, hats off to that. 3 points each, but a win is a win. It is summer time, get out and enjoy the weather, your family, and life in general. It looks like he is the same size as Champ so I guess that makes him to small to play ball. I think that there is another player that size this year, oh yeah he played offense, his name is Percy Harvin, not too bad of a player either. The next thing you guys will be saying is that Jake Scott was too slow, Terrell Davis was too thin, and Hines Ward was too banged up. They are all MVP’s in the NFL’s big game. Get a life and get off of the kid. He is just making them most of what tools the good lord gave him. That is a lot more than most of you are doing!

Maxie, use your account to copy paste that new story about Merrill noel!
Says he has had a change in plans, so use that subscription to feed all of us the news. Money well spent, don’t even have to do any reporting, just wait for them to do the hard work and then retype it up here.

Good thinking and great job of handling the shrinking AJC staff. Only way you can compete with the likely 10-15 people covering GA recruiting over at

Saint Simons.

By the way, my Dad can kick your Dad’s butt, I’m sure.
