Yes, I believe Georgia State will eventually outstrip Georgia Tech in the near future. For one, we have way more people then they do which gives rise to more talent. And our new football program only helps :)

I hate to get in the way kiddies, but those of us who went to actual universities like Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Alabama really could care less which one of you is the "real" GSU. I hate to be the one to break the news, but both of your schools' sports programs are relatively insignificant.

Who cares about Georgia Southern? Georgia State actually educates their students, is one of the top Urban Research Universities, and once this football team gets going next year, will quickly surpass Southern in all catagories. Southern quickly fell off the map when their football team did.

Why would anyone who lives north of Macon care about Georgia Southern? I mean, seriously. It's a third-grade school whose football team is about to get overshadowed by the new D-IAA big boy in town, Georgia State, or as EVERYONE knows it, the Real GSU.

Everyone is wrong. Don't let facts get in the way of your comment. Who exactly cares about Fake GSU? Go back to counting chickens farmer boy.

A little history lesson:

Georgia State –
In 1961, other programs at the school had grown large enough that the name was shortened to "Georgia State College." It became Georgia State University in 1969.

Georgia Southern –
In 1959, the school became known as Georgia Southern College when it became a senior college within the University System of Georgia. In 1968, the college received the authority to reorganize into separate schools of arts and science, education, and business. In 1990, the school was granted university status and became the first regional university in the University System of Georgia.

There is no debate.

I always think that by 'GSU' you guys mean Georgia Southern. And then I read GA State and disregard. You guys at the paper are aware that clearly no one cares about Georgia State athletics, don't you?
