Georgia men’s basketball coach Mark Fox has his first signee. Vincent Williams followed through on his oral commitment and signed a letter of intent to play next season.
“We are very happy to have Vincent join our program,” Fox said in a statement released minutes ago by the university. “Our team is going to need depth on the perimeter and outside shooting ability. Vincent provides us with both of those. Just as important, he really wants to be a Georgia Bulldog. We are looking forward to having him join us.”
Williams, a 6-foot-1 point guard from Florida’s South Dade High who averaged 26 points a game last season, joins Franklin County’s DeMario Mayfield as Bulldog signees. Mayfield signed last November.

tech has had excellent talent, but NEVER capitalizes. Derrick Favors was the worst thing to happen to Tech…. you are now stuck with a terrible coach, who may have been fired if he didn’t land Favors. He is done in one year. Tech was AWFUL last year “shane”. Shane is really stupid name

Trotting Home is another typical Tech loser who sits around and picks his nose for an afternoon snack and wishes he could be someone else. Anyway Trotting, him for mommy to give you your milk and go to bed.
Both state teams better start finding a way to keep a higher percentage of the 4 and 5 star players in the state.

As a lifelong Gator fan and graduate, I offer my sincere congratulations to Coach Fox and the UGA program. I’m not one to get too caught up in rivalry silliness, and I want the SEC to regain its rightful position near the top of the NCAA. A strong program in Athens benefits the entire conference, so hopefully this is the start of good things for the Dawgs’ program. As much as it pains me to say it, I’m even hoping for Kentucky to reclaim its status as an elite program — but not too elite. Ugh…can’t believe I just said that. Gotta go take a shower. Good luck Dawgs!

And GatorFan, give it a rest. We haven’t exactly been world-beaters the past couple of years, either. Don’t feed the stereotypes of Gator fans that people around here love to harp on. Doesn’t do us any good to be arrogant and condescending.

What other schools was Vincent Williams considering and what led him to Georgia at this late date?

Kevin M, to answer your questions, it’s the blind eye turned by the admissions Dean and the multitude of majors where he can be hidden. Housing?

This is our returning crop of players. Albert Jackson, Trey Thompkins, Dustin Ware, Jeremy Price, Chris Barnes, Trevis Leslie, young man from Norcross who redshirted last year, Darazen, and now only two recruits. Both of whom are under 6′3. You have a point guard and a power forward. You need a scorer, a two guard that can stretch the defense and get to the rim ala Billy Humphrey, Mike Mercer, Levi Stukes, Sundiata Gaines. Come on Fox, ive me a break

Okay class stick to the topic. I know you guys are in 4th grade but dang. The article is about a young man signing with UGA. Stop babbling on. To the Gator fan, get a clue. Nobody is impressed or cares. To the real sports fans, I’m sorry you have to read some of these blogs. To the young man that signed with UGA, welcome to the family. Get in great shape and come in ready to play. We need you. I am very excited about the new coach. Dustin Ware PG, Trey Thompkins PF, Chris Barnes C, and Travis Leslie SF make up a solid nucleus to build a program with. For the kids that stayed, I am proud of each of you. Quiters never win. I really believe the program is about to takeoff. Go DAWGS.

Congrat Coach Fox on your first signee…I’m a GT Fan but I also pull for UGA when we’re not playing each other. Hope you turn UGA around in mens BB. Wish we could replace Paul Hewitt but we’re stuck with him $$$$ for time being. Look forward to watching your team play.

Have to agree with UGA Student about Favors and Hewitt. One and done for Favors. Prolonged agony for Tech with Hewitt. Come on, DRad, step up to the plate and deal with this situation like you did with football.

Gatorfan, I’m not sure the gaytors will have a team this year if all your players continue to skip out on Donovan like they are i.e. Calathes & Tyus, your two best players. The shine is definitely starting to wear off! Oh yeah, and didn’t we split with you guys last year??

School of interest are reported to include NC State, Indiana, UAB, Florida, St. Louis and Oklahoma State. You can never be sure about these reports but this is a good player with potential.

$900.00 a week is a SCAM!!!!! Google treasure chest out of Philipines.
Try calling the number and Google the name. They will steal your money and you will never get it back. AJC should be ashamed for allowing this to happen. Anything to make a Buck!

Art Vandelay aren’t you really George Costanza?
JaxDawg – yes we split with you last year like we use to for years before the Gators 2 National Championships…..but I can’t remember the Dogs last National ChampionShip to compare and see if we split before and after it.
By the way Calathes is the only one now still considering leaving, but it still won’t matter…the Gators will continue to win 20+ every year with BillyD coaching, but won’t get many rounds at the big dance till they start consistently rebounding and get over their fear of the Paint!

Where are all the really tall players to recruit?
Coach Fox needs to go to A.D. Evans or Big Phaddy Adams, get some traveling money, travel to Russia and find the tallest, meanest and ugliest basketball player over there who’s not afraid of contact and sign him. Then we will be “competetive”. Coach can teach him the college rules (and english) on the plane ride home.

Okay, ugay fan. What do call it when Tech beats the leghumpers in football, basketball(men and women) and baseball in the same school year? Hope you hang on to the little, pink “gymdogs” shirt and the rusty, old “1980 national champions” car tag.
