Southwest DeKalb defensive end T.J. Stripling received an offer from UGA during his Junior Day visit to Athens this weekend, assistant coach Damien Wimes said.
Wimes said the 6-foot-6, 215-pound junior did not commit. This was his second Junior Day visit to UGA.
“None of our players will commit early,” he said. Southwest DeKalb has three of the state’s prospects, including tailback Kendrun Malcome and defensive back Sharrod Golightly.
Stripling has nearly 15 offers, including UGA, Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Tennessee.

“None of our players will commit early”???????
The Ego’s of the these coaches never cease to amaze me!!!
Should not a HS coach offer support and be nonbiased for his players?
Oh, I forgot – this is the HS coaches way to feel like he is the man!! He is in control – steering talent to where he chooses as long as college coaches treat him with the respect he deserves.
My advise to any player with multiple offers – commit when you are ready to commit – not when your HS coach tells you to. Visit the schools you are interested in and make your decision – then do not second guess – go enjoy your senior year. Do this in a timely fashion before your slot is claimed by a more savy athlete.
In Stripling’s case – UGA has offered a large amount of DE’s – first come first serve!!!
