Recruiting skeptic, you're right. Jones did come from Roswell High School where he probably wouldve been the No. 3 receiver. And your point is what? The No. 1 and No. 2 receivers at RHS got NO offers..and as far as I know only one Roswell player has a scholarship offer. Jones and his family did the right thing by going to Gainesville. Tai-ler is a hardworker both on and off the field and comes from a great family. Congrats Tai-ler you deserve all the success and accolades you're getting.

His Combine performance along with his high school performance is what has the coaches interested. He would be a good recruit for UGA.

Jones put up big numbers against inferior competition at a smaller school with a pass-happy offense after transferring from a AAAAA school where he likely would have begun last season as the No. 3 receiver. Just because his dad was a hotshot receiver in college doesn't mean he will also be one.

He is not in the same ballpark as the last receiver from the north Fulton area to play for the Dogs -- Sean Bailey. Save the scholarship Richt and let Charlie Weis have him.

[...] UGA makes up ground quickly with Gainesville WR Tai-ler Jones | AJC College Sports Recruiting UGA makes up ground quickly with Gainesville WR Tai-ler Jones Georgia’s scholarship offer to Gainesville wide receiver Tai-ler Jones has performed instant wonders for the Bulldogs and their chances of landing the top 2010 prospect. UGA made the final list of seven schools on Monday with Jones, who is also considering Notre Dame (his father’s alma mater), Ohio State, North Carolina, UCLA, California, and Stanford. Jones has also pushed up his decision date, saying he could make his college choice within the next couple of months. Jones is one of the nation’s leaders in early offers with 31, including Clemson, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina. Georgia Tech did not make Jones’ first cut of 15 schools because he did not feel like his skills were a match for the team’s offense. A few days ago, Jones did not have an UGA offer and said he was going to attend track practice rather than Georgia’s Junior Day on Saturday. However, UGA coach Mark Richt called on Friday with an offer, and Jones quickly changed his plans to visit Athens. Gainesville High is the alma mater of UGA athletics director Damon Evans, who also played football at Georgia. [...]

Congrat's UGA! You are on this kids short list with the likes of other "power house" football teams such as North Carolina, UCLA, Cal, and Stanford. You should be so proud!

I hope that ND doesn't pull his offer since he visited UGA while he was "secretly commited" to ND, as you say Gainsville Greg. Oh wait, that is Tech that pulls that BS

We don't need T. Jones. Antonio Goodwin is so much better. Besides, TJ wasn't going to Jr Day at Georgia until he got an offer? Boo hoo boo hoo. What a baby. The bugs at Georgia Tech can have him. Oh wait a minute. GT didn't make his top 15 lolololololololol.

I've heard that Tailer secretly committed to Notre Dame. He wanted to go to Georgia, but Jancek didn't think he was good enough until CMR overruled him. Too late for Georgia.

All the schools he has narrowed down to offer great educational opportunities. His Dad being a ND grad is a pull. However, they have cold weather and may not even make a Bowl bid. If Weiss doesn't do a lot better this year, he is probably gone so there will be a new coach and staff to deal with. Hopefully playing on an SEC team will be a big factor as the SEC is a much higher level of competition than the other Confs. he is looking at. He can get a great education at UGA and all the NFL visibility he would want if that is his desire. At UGA his friends and family can have more opportunities to watch him play. Although families always say they will go wherever the son ends up, in this case, traveling to Athens is much easier for them and his friends. Best wishes for his success wherever he decides to go.
