While most of the state’s elite players went to Athens on Saturday, Jefferson County defensive back/quarterback Barry Bostic chose to attend Vanderbilt’s Junior Day.
He was rewarded with a scholarship offer from the Commodores.
“I think Vanderbilt is really nice,” said Bostic, who also has offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland and Mississippi State.
“They’re really big on academics there. I like that a lot.”
Bostic received the offer from Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson.
“They told me to stick around [after Junior Day activities] so I could talk to coach Johnson,” said Bostic, who was accompanied to Nashville by his parents. “He told me they’d like to have me at Vanderbilt.”
Georgia Tech remains the early leader for Bostic. His immediate plans are to continue focusing on track. He has scheduled to visit Mississippi State on April 18.
