NeNe Leakes is now a bonafide actress. She’s on “The New Normal” on NBC after a stint on Fox’s “Glee.” So she has a good eye for bad acting – as in, Kenya Moore and Walter Jackson.
They are theoretically “a couple.” Kenya has been yammering about getting married and pressuring the poor man to put a ring on it. On the show, Walter is not doing a terribly convincing job acting as if he was all that into Kenya and her annoying self.
Last Monday, he told V-103 morning host Frank Ski that while he dated her years ago, he hadn’t heard from her in ages until Kenya asked him to be her boyfriend on the show. His friends told him it would be fun. He had no idea, though , that she’d be so pushy about “marriage.” Clearly, Kenya wanted a good storyline and Walter would be the prop.
NeNe sensed their lack of romantic connection almost immediately and had the temerity to ask Kenya to her face whether it was a legitimate relationship during the cast’s trip to Anguilla. She did it multiple times, annoying Kenya, who got deeply defensive and said her relationship with Walter was just fine. Fact: we never see them holding hands or appearing remotely happy with each other at any point. NeNe’s instincts are 100% true.
As an aside, I saw Walter on Thursday night at the Rolling Out magazine’s Men of Power and Influence gathering at the Twelve Hotel at Atlantic Station. He was with this really tall model type and acted mildly alarmed when I told him that Kenya had RSVPed. “I haven’t see her since August,” he said. He acknowledged everything he said on Monday to his friend Ski (who was being honored that night) was true, that he didn’t sign up for the drama after accepting to play Kenya’s “boyfriend.” I told him that I figured something was up given how nonchalant he was while Kenya was flirting in front of him. No self-respecting boyfriend would stand for that. I was told later that Kenya heard he was there and decided not to show up.
One way to get attention on any “Real Housewives” show is to get into a big argument with another housewife. Best end result for endless replays on “Watch What Happens Live” and future episodes: two women talking over each other and throwing out insults worthy of a high school cafeteria. A little physical altercations are fun, too. But you have to weight your adversary and pick your battles carefully.
Kenya could have easily gotten into NeNe’s face for questioning her relationship with Walter. But she kept herself in check no matter how pushy NeNe was. Messing with big-shot NeNe didn’t seem like a smart move to Kenya.
But then there’s fellow newbie Porsha Stewart.
She’s young. She’s vulnerable. Kenya has no respect for her. Perfect!
In front of the other ladies, Porsha give Kenya some underhanded compliments about being so nice and sweet on the trip, compared to how horrid she was at the lunch where they first met, then the fundraiser, where Kenya acted needlessly holier than thou, then left in a huff.
NeNe asks what happened at the fundraiser. Porsha said Kenya took offense when Porsha said she was Miss America, not Miss USA and acted as if she was “bigger than the event.” She felt Kenya was disrespecting her late great grandfather and civil rights icon Hosea Williams.
Kenya, not willing to acknowledge any weakness (lest we discover how vulnerable or calculating she really is), gets defensive. “I don’t even know why we’re talking about this bull***. I’m over it. Get over it!”
Porsha tries to puncture Kenya’s over-sized ego: “You’re a non-factor to me.”
Kenya starts to put on her armor. “I’m 40 and fabulous!”
“Hood rat!” says Porsha, getting down and dirty.
“Dumb little cheerleader!” Kenya bites back. “What titles do you have?”
“Maybe if I was alive when you got your title, I would know!” Porsha says. (Technically, she was, but who’s counting?)
Then the b-word gets thrown around a few times and the women start getting into each others’ faces. NeNe and Cynthia try to block them.
They back off from each other momentarily. But then they go back at it. They diss each other’s credentials or lack thereof. And Porsha pulls out the “I’ll sue your a** if you touch me” and the funny line “You’re trying to recapture what you had going on 55 years ago.”
“You’re living off your grandfather’s legacy. You don’t have anything for yourself,” Kenya responds.
Words like “ridiculous” and “stupid” get thrown around. “Low class whore,” Porsha spits out. Kenya’s final line: “Read a book.”
“I am ghetto,” Kenya says. “I’m also sophisticated, educated, classy. I’m a lot of things. That’s all part of my magic, sweetheart. You’re jealous because you don’t have that kind of magic.”
She tells NeNe; “I’m still here. I’m still fabulous. Gone with the wind fabulous! Thank you.”
She twirls a few times and departs, as if she had just finished a big scene from a TV show or film.
“Is this movie night”? NeNe asks later, pondering the “Gone With the Wind” reference.
In other storylines:
- Gregg and NeNe are getting along well. He even cooks for everyone.
- Kandi Burruss and her boyfriend Todd are hot for each other. They even “christen” the hot tub.
- Peter surprised Cynthia Bailey with a renewal of vows on the beach. It was lovely and pretty and emotional. Kenya, of course, wished it were her, she said.
- We see very little of Kordell and Porsha together. I get the impression Kordell isn’t working too hard to get much camera time.
RATINGS
“Real Housewives of Atlanta” last week (the final one where Kim Zolciak appears in any way) drew 3.2 million viewers, the best since the opener. After six episodes, the show is still lagging behind season four in ratings to date by about 300,000 viewers, averaging about 2.8 million viewers so far. Still, that’s pretty strong for Bravo.
Here’s a clip of the show.

All of you that are praising Kenya ugly Moore for her jealous, crazy, lying, unrelevant behavior are just as pathetic as she is. What have Porsha done to Kenya for her to treat her that way it’s called jealousy because Porsha is pretty, she’s definitely shapelier than Kenya she also has beautiful skin something Kenya wish she had, also she has everything Kenya does not have and want.
If you are women making these comments, I bet you are just as ugly as Kenya and have no man that want you. She know dam well no one has proposed to her crazy ass 1 time let alone 6 times she need to stop all the lies and it sounds like the story Cynthia told about how many times she was asked to get married.
Kenya look so unclean to me, and she act like she is so relevant she has done nothing with her old ass title. She is on the show lying about a relationship with a man and I think she need the money. Kenya insulted Porsha first but and Porsha defended herself in which anyone would. Kenya bipolar ass will not be back next season. And one more thing haters Kenya craziness is problely why we have not seen her on anything significant but the cover of trashy men magazines’ she is old ten years older than Porsha.
Porsha is Fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just admitted Kenya

Kenya is two kinds of crazy but I agree with her assessment of Porsha — she’s living off her grandfather’s legacy (instead of creating her own) and through her husband. Although she appears to be sweet, she didn’t have to carry the mess Nene started and “Gone With the Wind” Kenya finished. Kandi and her beau appear to be happy and it’s her business what she does in her own home. Cynthia and Peter showed the beauty of black love and I for one ain’t mad.

Kenya is annoying and fake, but I like her. I mean, compared to Nene and Porsha and that prostitute from last season, Kenya is virtually royalty.
Really Bart, Really! None of them have anything on NeNe, Kandi, and Cynthia! However, I will give you alittle credit for your first comment “Kenya is annoying and fake”… The Bitch is ignorant!

Shining Star stop hating on Kandi!!!! I think she is just like any other woman. Kandi didnt say she brought the house for Todd and her to live in. She simply said he was moving in. There is a difference…..She brought the house and he will be living there. If things dont work out he will be
leaving and she will still have the house she brought.
If her having a man living with her is a poor example for her daughter, then their are alot of women in this world that fall in that category probably including yourself.
Its easy to say that your life is a taste of heaven when you are not on TV to show your life to the world. But to each its own….No one is perfect or will ever have a perfect life….that applies only when you make it to heaven!
As far as Porsha riding off of her husband and grandfather’s coat tails, so what at least she is doing something to promote a good cause and I dont see anything wrong with that. Look around you everything that someone is promoting was most likely started by someone else or that person piggy backed off of what someone else did. When it comes to her husband I hope she is riding his coat tail he is her husband!
Do your thing Kandi, make movies, get in Jacuzzi’s use your toys and enjoy life!

I really thought that Porsha pushed the issue with Kenya. When Kenya said she was pass the incident then Porsha should have let it go. She and NeNe seemed intent on pushing Kenya’s button. My advice to Porsha; get a real life for yourself and as Kenya has pointed out stop living your life through your husband and late grandfather. This girl adds nothing to the Housewives and the sooner she is gone the better.
As for the Walter and Kenya mess, if Kenya invited him then it is her fault that she chose someone of his integrity. A gentleman would have said that the matter was between him and Kenya and that he and she know the truth.
All of this being said, the whole episode was poorly scripted and contrived.

Kenya has become the centerpiece of the Atlanta ladies. Everyone is paired with their husbands and are rather boring now, so this has given Kenya the chance to be the real star. If I were Andy Cohen, I would make her the sho’nuf star of the show. She is gorgeous and can handle herself well. Porsche needs to be removed and NeNe should do her acting thing with the New Normal. She should move on. I don’t see her on Glee at all anymore..
