One of the final four will go home Tuesday night. It will probably be Lithonia’s Trevin Hunte. The poll on MJ’s site shows he only received 3% of the vote in terms of favorite performance while Cassadee Pope ran away with it with 55%.
1) Trevin Hunte (”Wind Beneath My Wings” Bette Midler / Team Cee Lo) – This guy likes a huge serving of ballads, with an extra dollop of cheese, when possible. It’s just okay, doesn’t quite soar. He seems a little under key. Grade: B/B-minus
2) Nicholas David (”You Are So Beautiful” Joe Cocker / Team Cee Lo) – He has a much more interesting voice than Trevin and he has comparable scruffy looks to Joe Cocker. He provides emotional depth, if not a resoundingly different take on this 1970s classic. Grade: B-plus/A-minus
3) Cassadee Pope (”Stupid Boy” Keith Urban/ Team Blake) – There’s no doubt why she’s the favorite to win. She has a pretty, powerhouse pop voice and gives this country song a strong resonance. Grade: A-minus/A
4) Terry McDermott (”Let It Be” Beatles/ Team Blake) – He possesses a good rock voice but in a total old school way. This song works well with Terry. Just lovely. Grade: A-minus/A
