THE X FACTOR: 6 Perform: CeCe Frey performs live on THE X FACTOR airing Wednesday, Dec. 5 on FOX. CR: Ray Mickshaw / FOX.

CeCe Frey is out – finally.

The annoying, mediocre personality that is CeCe lasted so much longer than anybody expected. She survived withering critiques from Simon and L.A., flounced around the stage wishing she were Lady Gaga or Katy Perry when she wasn’t even a pale imitation of Jessica Simpson on a good day. And those spots she stuck on the side of her head looked like some sort of infestation, more than a mere affectation.

So alas, I miss you not.

As for Diamond White, she is the other 13-year-old wunderkund who wasn’t quite as mature beyond her years as Carly Rose Sonenclar. I always liked her. She seemed sweet and showed some real skills on stage. But she always skirted the bottom of the rankings and her time had come.

She faced off against Fifth Harmony, the steadily improving quintent of female singesr whose names I still do not know. Their take on Mariah Carey’s ‘Anytime You Need a Friend” was deemed better by the judges than Diamond’s “I Hope You Dance,” a maudlin song if I’ve ever known one.

Amazingly, I actually predicted the two acts going home tonight correctly.

So the top 4 are:

1) Tate Stevens (back at No. 1 from No. 2)

2) Carly Rose Sonenclar (losing the top spot after two weeks)

3) Emblem3 (third again)

4th or 5th) Fifth Harmony (fourth last week)

Morning!

I thought y’all might be interested in this very sweet tale of how Ace proposed to Diana on the season finale of Idol. He had talked to Nigel ahead of time about the possibility and Nigel had given him a yes but insisted that he wait until the day of the finale to tell Ryan Seacrest:

The day of the finale, Young and DeGarmo walked the red carpet to do press interviews. He excused himself by telling her he had to use the bathroom. “I went to Ryan’s trailer,” he recounts. Ryan’s show rundown listed an item that was described as “Ace’s moment” with no explanation. “I told him I was going to propose to Diana and he asked me to recite the proposal. I did, and Ryan choked up. I choked up. He asked to see the ring and I showed him the yellow sunflower diamond. Ryan told me, ‘I’m going to pull you up on stage. Take as long as you need. If there’s a time constraint, I’ll speed you up.’”
Young raced back to the red carpet and discovered his long absence had caused DeGarmo to worry about him. “I was searching for Imodium,” she laughs.
Inside the Nokia Theatre, Young kept putting his hands into his pocket to make sure the ring was still there. “I even wore these atrocious MC Hammer pants just to hide the box in my pocket.” About an hour-and-a-half later, Seacrest was calling the couple up out of their seats. “Without moving her mouth, Diana asks me, ‘Why are we going up on stage?’ Without moving my mouth, I said, ‘I have no idea, just go with it.’” Later, DeGarmo confessed she thought they we’re doing a throw to a Barry Manilow number where he would come out and sing a love song.

“Ryan handed me a mic and I had tunnel vision,” says Young. “I saw no one but Diana. My biggest fear was that ring would fall out of the case and roll into the audience. I didn’t hear the yes but I heard it in her gasp.

Stated on another RoHo thread my woe of the week – a mother/daughter team on an Atlanta reality show has moved in next door. Lots of lights at night, parties, noise. Small white dog, left home alone in daytime, (or maybe owners sleep) wails for hours.

Mercedes, a few complaints to the local constabulary may quiet things down a bit.

Only one reason for the CeCe hate….. She’s gorgeous. Women don’t like that she is absolutely beautiful. She isn’t as good a singer as Carly but she is more talented and way more beautiful than Kesha. Anyone can sound good masked by a studio remix!

Sam, I haven’t seen the season finale yet but will probably watch it in the next few days.

@Truth, it was Cece’s personality that did her in more than her voice. That and Demi’s seriously over-done production, costume, hair and makeup. With those two strikes against her plus a voice that was fair bordering on pitchy, she never had a chance.

Here’s a generalized composite averaging from polls from various site’s, on chances to win:

Carly – 68 %
Tate – 22 %
Emblem 3 – 9%
5th Harmony – 1%.

Simon has indicated that he is ready to sign Emblem 3, whether they win or not. And he likely said that now, because he knows they won’t.

I have seen a good number of comments on some of the threads around the web, that show some bloggers/fans feel it is a “no-brainer” that Tate will sail into the win with a wide margin.

Problem is, that in addition to the large base of supporters Carly Rose has gained from her appearances on the show – added to a multi-million Britney fan base, (who now don’t need to split votes with Diamond in order to support Britney) The Tate Nation may be more than just challenged in a finale.
