Financial expert Dave Ramsey has landed at his third home in two year: 1160/WCFO-AM. He started today at 2 p.m., running live until 5 p.m.
Ramsey, who works out of Nashville and is heard on more than 500 radio stations nationwide with six million listeners, spent two years at AM750 and 95.5FM News/Talk WSB at night. When Rush Limbaugh moved to WSB last month, Ramsey was the odd man out.
He established himself for many years in Atlanta on the former news/talk station at 640/WGST-AM in late afternoons until late 2010. WGST itself became Hispanic sports talk in late September.
WGST’s departure has been WCFO’s gain. “It has helped with advertisers and listeners” now that WGST is gone, said Jeff Davis, who runs WCFO-AM.
In October, WCFO picked up Glenn Beck from 9 to noon. Beck had been a long-time talker on WGST.
WCFO moved Mike Huckabee to evenings to accommodate Ramsey.
“I like to have people potential clients have heard of,” Davis said.
