Who is out on ‘X Factor’ this week?

Amazingly, CeCe Frey is still here.

Less surprisingly, Arin Ray had the fewest votes and was cut immediately. He was a cut-rate version of Usher and simply lacked enough distinctive zing to last any longer than he did.

The second and third lowest vote getters were Beatrice Miller and CeCe. Beatrice seemed a bit surly at times and not quite ready for prime time vocally. She somehow picked an appropriate song, too, in her showdown: Dido’s “White Flag.”

CeCe sang “Because of You” and survived to live another week, thanks to Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, who both picked her over Beatrice.

The ranking of the top 8 didn’t show any major changes. The top 3 remain the same, with Carly Ray finally hitting the top after Tate had the most votes the past two weeks. It helped that Carly Ray had the pimp spot. Vino and Emblem 3 held the same spots. I’m glad to see Diamond White moved back up to No. 5. The bottom three are all cannon fodder.

1. Carly Ray Sonenclar (up from 2)

2. Tate Stevens (down from 1)

3. Vino Alan (same)

4. Emblem 3 (same)

5. Diamond White (up from 7th)

6. Paige White (bottom three last week)

7. Fifth Harmony (down from 6th)

8. CeCe Frey (down from 5th)

I’d vote for CeCe and Arin to go, but wouldn’t care Paige went, either. I think Beatrice shows more potential than CeCe, Arin and Paige, but she needs to get some better song selections.

Demi is okay as a judge but a disaster as a mentor. …Gee, who could have guessed that a 20-year old Pop-ette wouldn’t be a great mentor?? …Oh, yeah, …Simon! :D

I think their work/Thanksgiving gift with the school music dept., and Choir – is great, cool and enjoyed their song together with the contestants.

And, regardless of whether Beatrice gets cut or not tonight, she has a special tone of voice that has good possibilities in Pop or Country. .

Arin straight out, no chance to sing for survival. No surprise as he was last in all the polls I seen. Wonder if there might be a CeCe and Paige sing-off later.

Arin is gone so Demi will get to keep at least 1 act!

I also agree with Seth that helping the music department was a nice gesture! Maybe X-Factor big wigs are reading blogs and forums and using them like a focus group. Kinder, gentler X-Factor?

Jeez I’m full of….turkey!

CeCe was….AWFUL!!! But I’m glad Simon sent Beatrice home! He did the best thing FOR HER! She was emotionally immature to go forward and with two 13 year old girls (Diamond & Carly Rose) who were much better she had no chance. Now I can focus all my mojo getting CeCe booted!

Obviously CeCe is most likely next-out. She hasn’t had a really good vocal since her audition. She also seems to have a ;ot of emotional ups from the beginning, and downs over the past 3 weeks. I doubt that she will be actually upset when she leaves. I think she is also tired of the manipulation, make-overs and pressure.

I also don’t think that Britney has helped Beatrice much, through the pressures and stress the show produces on young contestants. Their staff and tutors there should have had her much better prepared for the possibility of sing-off and elimination.

Anyone surprised that 5th Harmony was 7th? Emblem 3 gets a little boost now, with Arin gone.

I am glad Arin was gone. I think he stood out more last year as a member of InTENsity than he did this year as a solo act. Also not surprised that this week was Beatrice. While she may have had good vocals, she had a piss poor attitude and I agree with Simon that she would not have been able to handle the competition much longer. I don’t understand what the fascination with Tate Stevens and Vino Alan is. First of all, I cannot STAND Vino. He does not have a chance at being big in the market. He reminds me of Josh Krajcik from last year. Just what kind of music does he sing, anyway? And how in the world does Tate keep beign at the top of the leaderboard?? We do not need the White-Guy-With-Guitar that everybody votes for on this show too…. because there have already been too many on AI. Personally, my favs are Fifth Harmony, Emblem3, Diamond, Carly, and Cece. I really like Cece. I don’t see what everyone’s problem with her is. She is a good singer, she just needs to find her niche… (*cough* Demi needs to be a better mentor *cough*). I also think that Fifth Harmony needs to sing something other than a ballad if they want to stay in the competition.

RoHo, off-topic, but may I digress for a moment. Seriously, you need to ditch that photo at the top of your column(man, don’t mean to offend, but it’s BAD) and use the one on your Tweets. They are 100 times better. How about a poll to settle it for you?

Wow! Off topic but… I don’t watch the Voice, so regulars… someone tell me who is Chris Mann? He did a GREAT job on ‘O Holy Night’ to light the tree. (And cute, too!! :-) ) How did he do on the show?

(What you didn’t see on TV: Just before he hit the highest note, he turned around and watched the tree with the cutest expression.)

Morning!

Jenny, Chris Mann was a semi-finalist on The Voice last season from Christina Aguilera’s team. He’s classically trained and seems to want to be the next Josh Groban.

Still don’t think Beatrice should have left before CeCe (who hasn’t done anything notable since her final audition) but I do agree that it was best for her. Simon was right. She’s just not ready emotionally yet …unless Disney snaps her up for one of their teen-focused TV shows.

I’m not unhappy with the results. I thought the performances Wednesday night were generally awful with a few exceptions. Really liked Diamond although I thought the praise was over the top. She wasn’t perfect but she was good. Liked Tate and Gino and Carly although I wish she had given the song a little more reverence…I felt like she was screaming for emotion at the end when emotion would have been better served more quietly.

Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Highlander I do agree that Beatrice was better than CeCe! However the pressure was getting to her and for once I think Simon made the right choice for the right reason and let her go. It could have only gotten worse for her. Carly and Diamond are much more mature emtionally and vocally so she was going to go if not last night then in the next few weeks. The longer it drug out the worse for her!

CeCe is HORRIBLE! I think the top 5 were right on! Regardless how they sing Paige, CeCe and probably 5TH Harmony will be the next 3 to go! Vino & Tate…Carly & Diamond at some point will affect the votes of each other and may cause a shocking early exit. The same may be true for 5th Harmony and Emblem3. My guess is Tate, Carly Rose & Emblem3 will be the final3

Hello All!
Have missed blog – been without Comcast services – phone, TV, internet for five days, and without water for four. Water came back yesterday… but only the cold one. Four out-of-town guests NOT happy.

Hope everybody checks out “Silver Linings Playbook”. Only movie I’ve seen twice this year. Straight-to-the-heart peformances from Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro in a comedy/drama about mental illness.

“Anna Karenina” is dividing people. I liked the artifice of having the story filmed as a stage show; others, who just wanted a straight “Anna” to moon over, hate it. Jude Law makes the cuckolded Karenin sympathetic, no mean feat, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, as Anna’s lover, is just as idiotic as I remember him from the book. Anna herself – Keira Knightley IS a bit lightweight in the part, but she looks so scrumptious in those Franco-Russian fashions, all is forgiven.

“Life of Pi” makes me think maybe there’s a place in this world for 3D. Best effects since “Avatar”. Ang Lee directed the instant-classic book with unknown Suraj Sharma as one of two survivors of a shipwreck. The other one is a starving Bengal tiger. Well-worth seeing.

Same can not be said of “Red Dawn”. Stupid, stupid, movie… can’t hold a candle to the version Patrick Swayze made almost 30 years ago.
Might be remembered for Connor Cruise’s first part.

I think Cece Frey’s good but I thought Beatrice Miller was better than her and I wish she wasn’t sent home. I love to watch The X Factor with the wife when I’m home and it’s one of many primetime shows I enjoy. Sometimes it’s hard trying to catch all my shows on primetime when there are so many. I can’t be home when my show’s come on, so I rely on my PrimeTime Anytime feature in my DISH Hopper DVR, which records all four major networks nightly. I didn’t know about this feature until my coworker at DISH told me. I no longer tie up all the DVRs in my home and everyone’s able to benefit for this since they can continue to watch TV while my shows record.

Happy Holidays, guys and gals!!! I’m in a turkey-coma.

I did catch XF last night. In short, I don’t think Arin should’ve gone, but I’m not surprised. Much like Lyric 145, he had a horrible mentor. Hated the way Britney acted towards him at the end and she’s the worst mentor of them all.

Beatrice is yet another reason why an age limit is needed. Most youngsters are not mature enough to handle the rigors of the business. XF is soft compared to the real business.

CeCe continues to be the weakest link that skates by. I agree with DanJ’s final 3. My pick is Tate!

About the only drama left on this show, is whether or not Cece can survive against Paige and/or 5th Harmony.

Otherwise, the show is pretty much wrapped-up, as follows —

1st and second place – Carly & Tate.period, interchangeable. Amazing young singer/actress vs. Country vote.

3rd & 4th place – Vino & Emblem 3, toss a coin. Power soul singer vs. the tweens, but they both use the same “motions” when they sing & perform. If you happened to notice, you know what I mean.

5th & 6th – Diamond & 5th Harmony, or Diamond & Paige

7th & 8th = the only question mark left — Cece & ?? the only wild card to speculate about.

If she somehow survives again, it might be because enough voters are getting a little bored with the patterned songchoices and predictability of the others. You never know if Demi and the Producers are going to give Cece something to sing, which is way above her skills or just totally outrageous. So she’s the last unpredictable left.

New thread with Phillipx2.

Deirdre: so sorry – believe me I know what’s happening right now, and it’s a real challenge to get thru this day. Just remember Mom will be over the misery and suffering she (and you) have endured the last months. Sad day, but also a day of release.
I’ll be thinking of the two of you today, and wish for an easy transition.
