Atlanta native Kenan Thompson working on new sitcom

Atlanta native and “Saturday Night Live” veteran Kenan Thompson is working on a new sitcom with Lorne Michaels, according to TV Guide.

The untitled multi-generational family comedy, which is in the script stage at NBC, would star Thompson as a man who moves in with his in-laws. Saturday Night Live writer Bryan Tucker is writing the script and would executive produce with Michaels and Andrew Singer (30 Rock). Thompson would also be an executive producer.

Thompson is in his tenth season on “Saturday Night Live,” tied for fifth- longest running tenure on the show. Among black cast members, he is tied with Tim Meadows, who also lasted ten seasons.

Atlantan Cee Lo Green is also working an NBC sitcom, too.

He is the least funny person on SNL. I’m guessing his sitcom will crash and burn just as badly as “Whitney.”

Kenan is one of the funniest guys on SNL. Unfortunately, SNL struggles to be funny most of the times. Lorne Michaels and NBC are just not that good with sitcoms.

Depending on who the other cast members will be, this may be worth watching.

I have always like Keenan, he is genuinely funny. he does not have to curse or use sex to get a laugh.
