CNN’s Rob Marciano will become the new “Entertainment Tonight” co-host with Nancy O’Dell starting January.
Marciano has been with CNN since May, 2003 and works out of Atlanta. He has covered the weather during mornings and has worked as a field correspondent and fill-in anchor.
I tried to get an interview with Marciano but the public relations folks felt like it would be more useful for him to do interviews closer to his start date, which hasn’t been finalized. So the best I could get from him was a statement:
“CNN management has been very supportive and I’m so grateful for the countless opportunities and experiences CNN has afforded me over my 9+ years. I’ll always have a passion for weather, but it was time to branch out and ET is THE entertainment news authority. This is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”
He replaces Mark Steines, who left the show in July after nearly two decades. O’Dell has been hosting solo ever since.
