Randy Jackson’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” was axed by MTV after seven seasons. This is why host Mario Lopez moved to “The X Factor.” I enjoyed the show when I watched it.

Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj and Carrie Underwood are set to perform on Sunday’s “American Music Awards” on ABC.

Out of all these, I would take Kellie Pickler. At least it would be interesting and entertaining. Also, she is even still pretty with her “shaven” head. I would give her $75K then tip her another $10K, depending on how long she stayed.

Amazing what even a little fame can do for your price tag. Kristi Lee Cook finshed 7th I think, and can get maybe $15,000 to sing at a wedding? – — if she could get a few of those per year, she would make a lot more than she did on her album. Saw her on her hunting show some time back, she’s still a fox.
MJ’s Blog has covered a rant from Nicki Minaj about her run-in with Mariah.

Justin, come to my house and hang out! I’ll give you a beer and I have some old Halloween candy that we can munch on.
In all seriousness, Justin better be above the KLC range, and hopefully above the Archie range.

I read that Adam Lambert has to pay the bill for back-up band, roadies, equipment, transportation, costumes, lasers, etc., out of his performance fee. considering that, and that he plays all over the world, and that he is probably the best male singer alive right now, I should say that fee is pretty inexpensive. At least when you hire an *idol* you can be assured that they will actually sing, and not just mime to pre-recorded tracks. I’d rather pay for someone like that, than the vocoded *performers* who can’t be bothered to actually learn to sing.

I guess hearing is subjective b/c Adam’s voice is amazing to me, so powerful going for the big notes and tender when he pulls back. Objectively, he definitely has (one of) the biggest vocal ranges of a male singer in decades. Clay’s voice is also quite beautiful and I love Carly’s spunk. Kelly reigns supreme above all though.

Trevin Hunt? Are you serious? Worse performance of that song ever. I was thinking as he finished he would come in last out of all the performers on there tonight. It apparently came across a lot better in the auditorium than on TV. The Voice does have some good people this year as opposed to X Factor. The XF seems to be using American Idol rejects. Also huge difference in the production and quality of those two shows. XF sounds just like something that would emanate from the UK. Oh that’s right, SC is British isn’t he?

IMO “The Voice” was mostly a scream-fest tonight. Seems to get the audience reved-up, and get the Judges to proclaim that they are all “big fans” of every artist.
Songs by Dez Duron, Cody Belew, Melanie Martinez and Nicholas David – were at least palatable to listen to. The rest were either bad, lame songchoices or way too big for their natural range. For most of the girls, It seemed like one was just trying to outscream the other. Even the dog ran to the basement to hide-out.
Some of the girls are at least hot lookers, but I wouldn’t pay much to have them sing at a wedding.

There is no once who has mesmorized me like Adam Lambert. I still can’t believe some people (who obviously never listen to him) still accuse him of screaming. He has the most range and control I’ve ever seen. Watch him sing with Queen….he is unbelievable (in Brian May’s words). Once again, however, the usual suspects will be singing at the AMAs. The lucky ones who get the airplay and best songs handed to them. I won’t be watching…. We need new blood. Adam wrote music before IDOL and now on his new album plus executive produced.

Some day people will wake up and notice how talented Adam is……I used to be a big Clay fan until Clay dissed Adam right after the IDOL finale. Time heals and he is a good singer, but no one can perform like Lambert. He is the best live singer I’ve seen.

People who have partially lost their hearing – without either being aware of it or refusing to admit it- will find it ‘painful’ when someone sings in the higher ranges – that’s a fact. So, watch this video Adam Lambert – Vocal Showcase Note by Note http://youtu.be/3dQes6PWFXs , have your hear tested and then you’ll understand that Adam has NEVER being screaming. Adam is a singer with an exceptional vocal range, a song writer whose lyrics are meaningful, and insightful. His latest album Trespassing is simply a master piece. Anyone who is in touch with their emotions will relate.

G, I agree with you on Trevin Hunte. With a little work and the right management, he could be the next Luther Vandross. …And we need one!
And Seth T, I agree with you regarding the girls trying to out-scream one another. Have you ever noticed that some singers, when trying to hit a high note (maybe a half step or so above their natural range), will scream or shout it in an attempt to cover up the fact that they can’t really hit it?

I like Adam and think he has a very good voice, but on almost every song he performed on Idol, there were points when he just screamed. I hate that – if you can really sing, you can hit high notes without all the screaming. The few he didn’t, like “Mad World”, were marvelous performances. He should have won over Lee the nobody.
