We all know Marlon, Shawn, Damon and Keenen Ivory Wayans. They’ve bestowed the world “In Living Color,” “Scary Movie,” “My Wife and Kids,” “The Wayans Bros” and “White Chicks.”
But watch out: there’s a whole new set of Wayans that are coming to the TV screen: “Second Generation Wayans,” a new BET sitcom that just started production at EUE Screen Gems in Atlanta. BET has not yet announced a launch date.
Craig Wayans and Damien Dante Wayans come from America’s first family of comedy. Their co-star George Gore II is best known for his role as Big Head Junior in Damon Wayans’s sitcom My Wife & Kids. Second Generation Wayans is a hilarious, new, scripted family comedy. However, as it turns out, being a Wayans isn’t all fun and games. Viewers see the good, the funny and the ugly as the young trio emerges from the long shadows of their aunts and uncles to carve out their own paths to stardom.
Starring Craig Wayans, Damien Dante Wayans and George Gore II.
Interestingly, these two Wayans are not sons of the big four Wayans. There are six others Wayans from that generation, too. Craig is the son of screenwriter Diedre Wayans. Damien is son of screenwriter Elvira Wayans.
BET is now using EUE Screen Gems for “Sunday Best” and all its scripted programming, including “Reed Between the Lines,” “The Game” and “Let’s Stay Together.”
