‘Idol’ feud? What feud?
Nicki Minaj - is she annoying Mariah Carey? CREDIT: NBC
Sheesh. All this manufactured drama between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey? Is it real? Who knows? The press seems to care to the point the players in question had to deny it.
“It’s been two days!” Carey exclaimed to MTV.com. “A feud takes a little longer than two days!”
I’m sure Carey can’t be pleased having a younger diva on the dais but how obvious would it be?
- Here’s 10 reasons why Keith Urban might be a good judge, from a CMT journalist.
- Nigel Lythgoe, in a Tweet, said Nicki Minaj was 45 minutes late the first day, upsetting not just Mariah Carey (as TMZ says) but everyone.
- Casey James will be at the North Georgia State Fair Sept. 22 in Marietta. The show is free with entry into the fair. Kellie Pickler has performed at this show before.
- North Georgia’s Lauren Alaina is joining Rodney Atkins October 4 at Wild Bill’s. Tickets are just $10.
- I haven’t been keeping up with “The Voice” but caught a bit of Tuesday’s episode. I liked Benji, who sang “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” Adam gets him.

Re Panda…don’t y’all remember that she had just gotten out of the hospital that day after suffering from pneumonia. She was in no condition to be bouncing around the way she was. Her weight may create a lot of health problems but as far as we know, she is physically fine just not ready to be THAT active.

Well, Casey James, compared to most of the contestants the past few years, was a real nice piece of real estate! Cute, shy, sweet, and fairly talented, especially his guitar playing. He’s the one Kara goaded into taking his shirt off at the audition. Must have been even cuter in person. made it into the top 4 or 5, if I remember correctly.

D, yeah under normal circumstances Panda would’ve still been in bed sick. I was really happy when the panel went back stage to meet her, but things got serious when she had problems breathing. Then she ends the whole ordeal on a gurney…….”Please don’t let Simon see this!” LOL!!! I love her.

Only got to watch the first half hour or so of XF last night. Will catch up tonight. I thought the boy group, Citizen, sounded okay (not great, just okay). They have a huge speed bump coming though. It’s been reported that Simon is going to “coach” the groups this season so, considering the fact that he didn’t care for them and didn’t even vote to pass them through, I’d be surprised if they’re not toast already.

Kudos to Demi! I didn’t think I would like her but I have to admit I find her warm and I enjoy her insights. Britney is a little out there at times but she’s Britney! I HOPE Nicki will follow Demi’s path. I still love not having a host. Love the camera following the contestants. Considering X-Factor really didn’t have a host last year I think they should forget about hiring one. Maybe they can hire the announcer from The Price Is Right to announce the singers and let the cameras do the rest.

So far, the judges on XF are cool. It’s still early though. My guess is things may heat up once the real competition begins. A little friction on any show isn’t bad. Too many pleasantries on the panel makes the show dull and the judges even more useless.

For Sam-A and other movie goers: “Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Master” is a must this weekend. Wild and woolly like most of Director Anderson’s film, this one is a “secret” take on the Scientology cult and its founder L. Ron Hubbard. Philip Seymour Hoffman is the leader of “healing” group called The Cause; Joaquin Phoenix his sad-sack acolyte, a soldier trying to adjust to post-war America. Both actors at the top of their game; Phoenix my choice for Best Actor Oscar next year.

I also liked “Liberal Arts”, a small movie about mid-30s guy who goes back to his college for a function and meets up with much too young student. Josh Radnor wrote, directed and stars as the young man trying to find an age-appropriate love interest; Elizabeth Olsen is the 19-year student, Allison Janney an “older” professor crush, and then there’s Elizabeth Reaser, perfect, if only the hero would notice her.

Forgot to mention Richard Jenkins who plays Radnor’s old professor in “Liberal Arts.” He has some of the best lines in the film.

So far I’ve been much more impressed with Demi Lovato than Britney. Demi seems engaged. Britney seems aloof and disinterested. Britney’s comments remind me more of Paula’s cotton candy style critiques while Demi’s seem more Kara-esque in comparison.
Britney’s there simply to draw in the young teens and the older oglers.

Hi y’all,
Well, Britney has severe bipolar disorder and is on strong meds. I think there might be more to that story, but that is all that’s known publicly. I only say that because Demi also suffers from the disorder and she seems a lot more present, and has a lot more to say. I’ve honestly been pleasantly surprised.

K&CF: I saw Ellen too – BS kept making the weirdest, vacant expressions every time there was the slightest noise from the audience, ie claps, cheers, et al. It’s rather pitiful – she’s like a puppet who has to have her strings pulled to have any animation.
