Kim Zolciak’s mom says she can’t see her grandchildren, files a request for visitation

Kim Zolciak’s mother Karen has filed a petition for visitation with the Superior Court of Fulton County this week to gain access to her grandchildren.
Kim, who has been a cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” since 2008, has two daughters from past relationships: nine-year-old Ariana and 15-year-old Brielle. She married Falcons player Kroy Biermann last year after she birthed her first son with him, Kroy Jagger Biermann Jr.
In the complaint, Karen said her daughter has not allowed her to visit her grandchild Kash since he was born on August 15. “She won’t let us see our granddaughters (or our grandsons),” Karen wrote. “We understand that’s because Kim and Kroy are married and living under the same roof that we don’t have the same visitation rights & that’s okay. Since we’ve we’ve had a strong bond with our granddaughters, we would like that to continue.”
Karen said she and her husband invested a great deal of time over the years with Ariana and Brielle. “We have spent time with the girls on a regular basis since they were born,” Karen wrote. “They have spent a lot of time at our house cooking, baking, doing crafts, having sleep overs, playing with our dogs, making hot fudge sundaes, eating ‘Poppy’ burgers (grandpa’s hamburgers). We have gone out to dinner with the whole family and to Falcons games a lot. Before Kroy came into Kim’s life, we spent a Christmas in the Bahamas with them.”
“The girls lives such a crazy, abnormal life being on T.V. – they need a normal haven to relax and unwind in and just be kids,” Karen wrote. “They usually don’t want to leave when they come over because it’s so calm and comfortable at our house.”
She also said she wasn’t portrayed kindly on the Bravo spin-off show “Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding” because Bravo “needed drama.”
“They had me taken out of their wedding reception by the Roswell police,” she wrote. “My sister Leslie & I used the bathroom in their house instead of the Porta Potty, even though family members had been allowed to use the indoor bathroom all night until then. Kim & Kroy haven’t spoken to us since then.”
“We have no comment,” Karen said today about the complaint.
I’ve reached out to Kim’s attorney but he said he had not heard about it.
Since Kroy and Kim are married, I don’t know how much in the way of rights the grandparents have to see their grandchildren if the parents do not want them to.
I spoke with Steve Worrall, a family law attorney who does not know Zolciak but is familiar with visitation rights. He said Georgia changed the law July 1 and expands the criteria for grandparent visitation rights, though Karen has to show clear harm by her absence.
A close source said Karen did take care of Brielle and Ariana in their younger years when Kim was a stripper and living with her.
Karen, Worrall said, did not necessary have any visitation rights over K.J. or Kash but may have a right to spend time with Brielle and Ariana. He said based on reading the complaint, Karen may have a case but it’s hardly a slam dunk.

Ironic that Kim appeared on Wendy Williams not long ago commenting on Nene Leakes’ so-called lack of humility. Specifically, Kim stated that one should be thankful for what they have because it can all be taken away. Seems she needs to take her own advice.

I feel sorry for kroy’s parents. I can’t even imagine how they must feel. All the hopes and dreams they had for their son. He probably thought KZ was a catch! She is an embarrassment to his family. I’m sure they are hoping this all ends soon. She is nothing but an opportunist, and KB was too dumb to realize it. She saw him coming a mile away. As soon as he gets let go by Falcons and has to move somewhere else, that will be the end, and every last dime he has will go to her. His parents seemed like nice people, who were just trying to make the best out of a bad situation.

Kim is a precious, generous, giving woman. She has a young spirit and super energetic nature. Her mother, on the other hand, is not an emotionally stable woman. No one wants to cut off a parent, but the reality is that some of them just need to be cut off. I have an evil, selfish, insecure mother. I’ve tried for 50 years to find peace. I’ve finally realized that this is not my doing… it is hers. Not all blood relatives deserve to be treated like family. Ugly people are in all our families. And it was more than Karen just using the bathroom in the house. She was argumentative and caused a problem the entire process. Then, the microphone picked up the nasty things she said in that bathroom, once she’d gotten into the house. And it wasn’t a “booth style” stinky, low-class Porta Potty… it was a beautiful trailer with bathroom stalls that are nicer than most wedding venues have! Her mother was just being a self-centered, pushy, arrogant b!tch. Kim was SMART to keep people out of her house! Ever had a party with LOTS of people having access to your jewelry, fine art, safe, cash, and your baby??? The family should have humbly held to Kim & Kroy’s wishes. It appears that no one else in the family minded. And there were some pretty big names in attendance who also didn’t proclaim they deserved access to their house.
Kim believed Big Pappa loved her. He was separated from his wife. She wasn’t a “mistress”. If Mrs. Big Pappa had a real problem, she could have spoken out in all these years, but she didn’t because she was probably living her own affair and even she knew that the marriage was over, except for the paperwork. She’s been totally unfairly treated over all of that. Especially by loud-mouthed NeNe.
And lastly, Kim’s girls are online. They would be speaking up and fighting their mom to visit their grandmother if they wanted to. They don’t. Don’t you guys remember how their “loving grandmother” wouldn’t even come for Brielle’s celebration? Kim cried! She couldn’t believe her mother would be so petty that she’d blow off her own granddaughter. (short memories) Karen is using the girls to manipulate Kim. Yes, as someone else mentioned, Kim’s parents strike me as opportunistic and not very educated or tactful. Karen’s own brother admitted that she’s very selfish and self-evolved. I wish Kim, Kroy, the girls and the new boys all the happiness in the world! I’m so glad to see Kim isn’t dependent on people who take from her and use her.
Stay Strong, Kim! Your future is very bright!
