Watch Nancy Grace get ‘clocked’ in the face on ‘Drop Dead Diva’

s-DROP-DEAD-DIVA-NANCY-GRACE-120826-large

HLN’s Nancy Grace knows she has an easily mocked persona. Many TV shows have created Grace-like characters over the years or, in the case of “Saturday Night Live,” just made fun of her directly. Grace herself said she’s always enjoyed the parodies.

On last night’s “Drop Dead Diva,” shot primarily in Peachtree City, Grace plays herself. Jane Bingham, the lead character played by Brooke Elliott, accidentally clocks Grace with her elbow, as you can see below.

Obviously, a lot of you wished this were the real deal.

But since this is a scripted show, Grace actually had a stunt double who took the hit. Sorry!

LAME. Nancy Disgrace didn’t get hit. A nameless stunt double did. Plus, this was a show, not a real-life occurrence. Nice going, desperate AJC ‘reporter’.

Hey K-Ster,

did you read the entire article. If you did, then you would know it was a stunt. Not a desperate reporter lol. Great piece Ho.

On a recent show Nancy repeatedly mispronounced gold BULLION as gold BOUILLION. Even her “guests” (except for one) did the same thing. I think they didn’t want to make her look bad. She tries to show that she knows everything but her knowledge is often lacking.

I'd do her

Well, if you think about it, the headline is simply a lie. Nancy Grace did not get hit, a stunt double did.
This was a lame attempt to get readers to watch it happen. This is really disingenuous and opproborious, in my opinion.

@Sundrop Kid. You get “use of the coolest word of the day” award with “opproborious.”

The headline link was “watch Nancy Grace get clocked in the face on TV.” I have never clicked anything so fast in my life.

And it was actually scripted TV, and it was a stunt double?

You know that video where the guys prank their friend into thinking he just won the lottery? That is nothing compared to the cruelty you just showed, AJC. SHAME!

What has journalism come to today? This is the case of writer wanting more “hits” on his story by a misleading headline. Shame on you HO!

@Big Tickles. I didn’t write the headline on ajc.com. I wrote the one on my blog to make it clear this was “acting” and not real – just wishful thinking for many folks, for sure.

And here I thought my prayers had been answered and some brave fed up soul finally had summoned the courage to knock that vile creature up side her stupid blathering head.

And it was all a set up. How disappointing!

Oh well, maybe next time.

I too was terribly disappointed to learn that NG didn’t actually get socked. I’ve been wishing for years someone would do it. Why that woman is still on TV is beyond all rational understanding. That is the most hateful, mean-spirited, rude and stupid woman I’ve ever come across on TV. Her ONLY redeeming quality is that she apparently has enough of a sense of humor to allow herself to be socked. But it would take a lot more than that to make up for the rest of her unattractive qualities.

And yeah, I’m sick of misleading headlines. I know they’re supposed to capture attention, but it discredits journalists and/or the papers that run them when the headline is just part of a bait-n-switch routine.

1) The Saurus wins today’s award for best spelling eye.
2) Rodney wins today’s award for receiving the most unfair slams. (FYI, folks, reporters very rarely write their own headlines).
3) Nameless layout editor wins today’s award for most deceptively-earned page hits, and I hope Rodney clocks her/him in the face.

Hey, here’s some breaking news for you — Local writer uses a misleading caption to lure in readers! What? That’s not news? No, I guess it isn’t. Happens all the time around here, sadly.

Know what Nutmeg? Don’t care who wrote the misleading headline. Ho’s name is on the byline, so he’ll have to take the hits. Name of the game.

Well, at least give me credit for knowing what it means, and using it appropriately, even if I did accidentally insert an extra “o” in there. If Obama can misspeak, then I can mistype!

wow….talk about vile and vicious comments…hey folks, you might not like the lady, but as most of us know her fiancee was murdered here in Atlanta….after that, she made it her life’s work to try and stop criminals of all types and persuasions…and she was a hell of a DA for Fulton County. You people have some kind of screwed up priorities for disliking someone who is passionate about locking up predators, even if she doesnt have the style of a tv character…

Oh good GAWD Markie Mark! The ONLY thing Nancy Grace is passionate about is making as much money as humanly possible. That broad LIVES for a dead baby. She loves dead babies more than any other person on earth I believe. Dead babies have made her more money than any other subject.

And to Yep, Me Too: She’s one of those media types (you know the kind I mean) who’s gotten to the point she doesn’t care what anyone says about her as long as they spell her name right, and the check clears.

many people do not know Nancy, I for one got to know her well when she was a prosecutor in Fulton County, and can verify that she is really a sweet and charitible person who will go to great extents for those whom she cares for. She was a very tough prosecutor and a great friend. I am so glad i got to know the other side of Nancy. She will always be special to me

Virginia Highlands Boy

And that makes her all the worst for acting like such an evil harpy witch on that show. She’s sold out her true self for money and fame. And you know what that makes her. She’s not an actress, so she shouldn’t be sitting up there doing all that acting. It makes her look cheap and tawdry.

Nancy Grace insults, degrades and in some cases even “mocks” her guests….even her best friend who appears on her show. If anyone deserves to have their “mic cut” on that show, it is Nancy Grace herself.
She is an insult to our Justice System …….she has talked herself into believing she knows more than
any other human on earth. And “hey” look at me I have my own tv show – right off a red dirt road and I
can insult anyone one I want to…. right here on national tv.
