CNN today ended weekend host Fareed Zakaria’s suspension, which it initiated six days ago after he apologized for plagiarizing work for a gun control column in Time magazine.

His show will return Sunday, Aug. 26. You can read up on the situation here in my August 10 blog entry.

Here’s CNN’s statement:

CNN has completed its internal review of Fareed Zakaria’s work for CNN, including a look back at his Sunday programs, documentaries, and CNN.com blogs. The process was rigorous.  We found nothing that merited continuing the suspension.

Zakaria has apologized for a journalistic lapse. CNN and Zakaria will work together to strengthen further the procedures for his show and blog.

Fareed Zakaria’s quality journalism, insightful mind and thoughtful voice meaningfully contribute to the dialogue on global and political issues.  His public affairs program GPS will return on Sunday, August 26 at 10am ET on CNN/US and 8am ET on CNN/International.

Thanks CNN. Fareed is one person that makes CNN look global. He also helps us understand deeper what goes on in the rest of the world. Fareed is a very credible person.

10 p.m.? I think you mean 10 a.m.

But Fareed is bi-parasitism and very insightful. A public apology would also help is cause.

“Fareed Zakaria’s quality journalism…” What? By quality you mean he chooses good pieces to copy?
This guy makes no sense. Why would he come to the greatest country in the world and then try to make it more like where he came from?

What is worse for a journalist than plagiarism? Permanent dismissal seems appropriate, but 6 days????? The networks have lower and lower standards. MSNBC has their plagiarist, Mike Barnacle-CNN has this guy. Unreal.

Once again, CNN fails the test.

Well at least CNN can get back to what it does well. Hire a bunch of foreigners to tell Americans what’s wrong with their country. Fareed’s next article will be take directly from the DNC talking points memo to all CNN staffers. Oh wait. That’s Soledad!

CNN’s resident muslim gets a pass, and political correctness trumps one of journalism’s cardinal sins.

CNN is nothing more than a mouthpiece for nomobama and the rest of the Marxist thugs.

This shows CNN’s blatent bias. If Zakaria had written a pro-gun piece and plagarized that he’d have been suspended for way more than 6 days. A journalist’s integrity and ethics have to be beyond reproach, that is the “coin of the realm”. If you lose credibility you’re done.
This guy has lost any semblance of credibility and CNN takes him back? Really?

..and as for Soledad…she’s like nails on a chalkboard for me. Her smug condescension she doles out on those whose opinions she disagrees with is SO blatant. I was surprised that she didn’t do her annual “Black in America” Part 73 this year. CNN needs a major reboot.

You’ve misspelled his last name. Hint: It doesn’t start with an “S”. I was surprised to hear this, as I always thought he was one of the best and most-informed hosts. Hopefully it was just a dumb mistake.

I’ve tried in vain to listen and understand this CNN host a few times and he is a totally lefty socialist who comes to my country and fills the airwaves with biased and false information every time I’ve watched his underperforming show… He should have be released from his responsibilites but no CNN keeps this thief and liar on the payroll. CNN have you fools looked at your ratings? CNN you’re a disgrace to journalism and the city of Atlanta, move to New York with the rest of the lefty gang.

This explains why CNN is at the bottom of ratings. This guy is a hack that likes to blame America first. Oh well, I guess that the 8 people that still watch CNN will be happy.

This is one of the most PARTISAN journalists out there. I challenge anyone who thinks he is not to post to this comment thread a single OBJECTIVE article he has written, you can look but you will not find one because it does not exist. I feel SO SORRY for anyone that seriously believes what this pile of dog squeeze spews, they are hopelessly ignorant and beyond education, SO SAD, if they only had a brain.

The camel comment is racist trash. And ignorant.

Equally ignorant, and thankfully not racist, are the claims that Zakaria is a leftist. He’s a type of realist. We’ve all got internet connections, so look it up…http://bit.ly/Q7LTA4.

A few days…yeah, that’s about right.
Fareed must have been given the “Affirmative Action” suspension for plagiarism. After all…We can’t hold him to the same standards we would a caucasian reporter, now, can we?
