Atlanta’s Cee Lo Green is nothing if not taking advantage of that delightful “F-You” song he wrote a couple years ago that became a surprise, massive hit (censored for radio into “Forget You.”)

I just saw the flamboyant singer in a screening of the Whitney Houston/Jordin Sparks movie “Sparkle,” which comes out this weekend. He guest starred on Cedric the Entertainer’s “Soul Man” on TV Land last week. On Friday, he is introducing a new non-profit organization Greenhouse Foundation focused on education kids about the environment at his old elementary school in Atlanta. “The Voice” on NBC  returns next month with Green as a judge. And he’s working on a Vegas show for early next year.

Now AP reports that he is now taking over NFL Network’s “Thursday Night Football” theme song. He’ll be singing, not a rap or soul song, but a classic alternative rock song “Blitzkrieg Bop” by the Ramones. Football fans will be able to contribute videos of themselves singing the chorus.

‘‘I’m definitely a Ramones fan,’’ Green told AP.  ‘‘Punk rock is like pots and pans, like making something out of nothing, which is what hip-hop is as well. And both of them early on in their humble beginnings were alternative music. … And therefore it’s an alternative to the Faith Hill rendition, the Hank Williams rendition and any other one that we’ll co-exist with.”

And he gives a shout out to the Falcons: “I’m a definitely a Dirty Bird, man, to the death of me,’’ Green said.
