The judge speculation keeps on coming: Nick Jonas, Pharrell Williams in the mix

Who the heck is leaking names willy nilly? We’re all getting weary about the constant speculation, aren’t we?

The latest celebrity judge possibilities are Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and producer Pharrell Williams. The rumors come from Us magazine, which is not the most reliable source for news. (I’d say it’s a significant step below People and even below TMZ but on par with Radaronline.)

Nick Jonas is part of a group that was hot for a few minutes in 2009 but have been eclipsed by the likes of the Wanted and One Direction. His brother Joe guest judged a couple years ago and was a bore so I can’t say I’m too hopeful on this one. Then again, I know little to nothing about Nick so who knows? If “Idol” is seeking some sort of youthful resurgence, maybe he’s the ticket.

“The X Factor” has L.A. Reid. So producer Pharrell Williams could  be “Idol’s” younger version. He’s a multi-faceted talent: fashion designer, rapper, producer, with a raft of hit singles as part of the Neptunes. The past year or so, he has produced cuts for Frank Ocean, the Wanted, Adam Lambert, Tyga and Lupe Fiasco.

Rumors are pointing to Randy Jackson going to mentor role. I”m not sure if this means Jimmy Iovine is out. I liked Jimmy’s salty comments, even if they were after the fact.

Also, Kimberley Locke from season two has expressed interest in being a judge. Given that “Idol” is going for big names or folks with major cred, she wouldn’t fit the bill. I like her well enough but have no clue if she’d make a decent judge in any way or if anybody would care.

E! Online has exclusive access right now to Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” video. You can check it out here. It’s inspired by “The Wizard of Oz.”

And because some of you guys like eye candy, here’s new “Idol” judge Mariah Carey’s single cover for “Triumphant”

I’ll wait until they officially announce the judges, but a Jonas brother?

Thanks for the picture Rodney, but it’s kind of like looking at a cartoon drawing of a woman, and yes I do check out cartoon women… so I guess I’ll just leave it at “Thanks”.

Resounding NO to Baby Jonas. Ok with Pharrell. Now even ok with Brad Paisley. Ok with Mariah, but then who asked me?

Deirdre, I think if we saw the undoctored photo it would make more sense.

Harriett, I asked you! Well I didn’t say it, but just consider it asked.

Thanks, JT! I just don’t see the Jonas kid doing Idol. I do see him losing himself in Mariah’s, uh, shadow.

Se has to have approval on these pictures, right? Why would she want herself to looked deformed? If they can photoshop her waist why can’t they fix those ribs?

And why do they call them “spare” ribs? It’s not like the animal could spare them.

One breast looks bigger than the other. Her smaller breast looks like there’s a board lying up against the side of it stretching down to the bottom of her rib cage. HOW!!!!!! could she approve this picture???

The “Girls” are looking a bit uneven, with the left a good bit lower and larger than the right!

Possible “Closer” spoiler:
Mercedes: I have to tell you, Frances Sternhagen played the last scene so perfectly – my lord, her eyes – just looked so real! I wonder if Brenda will end up pregnant, and she and Fritz will move to ATL to take care of Daddy.

Sam-A, my favorite “Closer” fantasy: Pope is fired for being the leak, Brenda moves “upstairs”, and takes Gabriel along, since he’s her favorite. As for taking care of daddy, doesn’t Brenda have a slew of brothers who can help out? Pregnant, yes, that’d be nice bonus,

Back to the deformed woman: maybe the hair on the small breast (I mean the hair COVERING the small breast) helps deform Mariah’s body.

JTesla

Ok, now you guys are really just looking to pick nits.

The “smaller” breast happens to be on the side where her arm is raised and the side where her back appears to be more arched. If anything question the silliness of the pose. If her breasts were to hand the same way with that pose then there would really be something freakish.

Jonas boy being a judge, I don’t have a problem with. I don’t think the mainstream would mind a bit.

NBC/Universal has chosen the 5 best reality judges(keeping in mind that NBC has already proven itself to be pretty stupid with their Olympics coverage)

1. Howard Stern
2. Simon Cowell
3. Bruno whatshisface from DWTS
4. Mary whatsherface from SYTYCD
5. Nina Garcia

Pharrell Williams has youtube videos with, for instance, Snoop Dog.— just do a search and take a look at them and listen to the lyrics.

I go away from the blog for a while and come back to y’all dissecting Mariah’s assets? Wow.

The Idol judge speculation will go on for a few more months. When’s XF’s premiere? ;)

BTW, not to toot my own horn, but Pharell was one of my suggestions. So I’d be okay with that one. Or Dr. Luke. But either way, NO JONAS. He’s the male Demi Lovato…. :?

I don’t think the Jonas brothers (any of them) have the R&R to be judges. Respect and Resume! If you want to placate young girls? Fine. However I will give him the benefit of the doubt before I start verbally bashing him if he signs on.

I don’t even know if he would placate anyone. At least Demi Lovato has a current hit, she has the train wreck factor which appears to some. So I question why Idol wants to go with youth and no current hits (2009 is oldies music). Heck 2009 was when Kris Allen won, remember that guy? It’s ok if you don’t, nobody else remembers him.

The rib does look funny, but hey Ill take it anyday of the week.
Pharell is Snoops producer, not his lyricist, you cant blame him for the words to his raps. And most times the producer presents to artist with the music, then they write to it.

Folks… I’m going to cut out early. (I hate long, drawn out good byes.) After 20+ years, I won’t have a job to go to! :-)

I don’t know how often I can check in, but I’ll do so when I can. But right now, my focus is going to be on finding a new job and taking care of the lovely & gracious Mrs. Rickster and our family.

Stay safe & healthy.

And catching up – Olympics thoughts – am having a blast watching, but hate the spoilers! No matter how you try to avoid them, then someone likes someone else’s like on someone else’s comment on someone else’s photo… ha ha, but you get what I mean. And 11 Alive spoils their own network’s coverage on their local newscasts! (at least they did have the courtesy to warn us first, but I barely got the channel changed in time.) Grrrr! And now I accidentally saw who wins the gymnastics tonight….

Opening Ceremonies – not quite as mesmerizing as Beijing’s, but every country has its own way. I’ve heard this one described as “very British”. I liked the torch lighting best, and Hey Jude, and seeing Muhammed Ali with the flag. (We still had one of the best torch lightings ever here in Atlanta. And it managed to stay a surprise! :-) ) And I love the torch itself! Very cool, and I like that it’s actually on the stadium floor where they’ll see it as they compete.)

I’m not loving Ryan as roving reporter. I don’t think it fits him very well. But I’m not nearly as big a Ryan fan as many of you here. I hope they’re not really grooming him to take Matt Lauer’s spot eventually…. but I fear they are. That might be when I switch morning shows.

I wish I had more time to watch, but am loving what I have gotten to see so far!

Idol judges – blah to all. No rap or boy bands, pleeeeaaassse. Ick.

Jenny, I’m with you! I’ve tried as much as possible to steer clear of news sites, etc to avoid being spoiled…it worked until about an hour ago when someone posted something MAJORLY spoiling some events results. I could complain about the tape delay, but I’m working during the day, so even if they did air most of it live, I couldn’t watch anyway. I did see the women’s soccer match against N Korea at lunch…well, some of it.

The X-Factor premiers on 09/12. The Voice starts 09/10 on NBC, so these 2 shows could test each other — and give talent show fans plenty to watch and compare.

I know, K&CF. I wish I hadn’t seen what I saw! I usually know who and where to stay away from, who says too much, etc… but this was due to that darn scrolling sidebar on FB. Someone commented on someone else’s post who’s over in London. Dangit!

I’m OK with the tape delay, since at least most people *try* to not spoil because of it. If they showed everything live, people would be chattering way too much before some of us could get home to watch. I do think on the weekends it would be fun if they’d show some stuff live, though…

Funny, for TV shows I HAVE to know spoilers… but for sporting events I hate them.

I believe it is the same crew for The Voice, for now. There is some talk of replacing or “rotating in” some new judge/mentors for the season after this coming fall show. The idea wasn’t that they were firing Judges in the future, but more of a keeping-it-fresh by contracting a different celebrity or two as part of the format.
