Randy Jackson comes to Atlanta Monday to talk diabetes awareness. CREDIT: AP
I am planning to talk to Randy Jackson face to face in Atlanta Monday to talk about “Idol” and his Type II diabetes.
Jackson has an innate ability to avoid saying anything controversial in press interviews and getting around questions he doesn’t want to answer with jokes. (Ryan Seacrest is the same way.) But I’m sure there are questions I could ask him that might reveal something about the man. Any ideas? By the time this blog entry posts, he may very well no longer be on “Idol.” We shall see.
And “The Voice” must be thrilled that it received Emmy nom while “Idol” was snubbed for the first time for best competitive reality show. (”Idol” has never won” and probably never will.)

*Sam-A* real cute, posting just a snippet of that article to try to prove your point. I read the same article and you failed to list all the correlations it listed that applied to the movie. Coincidental? Maybe, maybe not. We shall see. *JT* you are wasting your time replying and referring to me. As I said, when I see your avatar I don’t even read them, after yesterday.

*Deirdre* That was based on what one psychologist said on the news this morning. Possibly he meant green, or purple, or even orange, and said red. I’m not that familiar with the “Joker” anyway, as I have outgrown that stage. Does he maybe change his hair color at random? BTW, no comments from you about JTesla’s “vulgar” post yesterday? I think I have heard you admonish others on here about such as that.

MyP…I didn’t find the statement vulgar at all. As a matter of fact I didn’t find the statement at all since I was in CA babysitting Lucas. I think the discussion, brief as it was, was in reference to Fred Willard being arrested in an adult movie theater for a lewd act. JT was clarifying, imo. However, you are perfectly capable of getting a post deleted by hitting “report this comment” and, well, reporting the comment. Obviously, since Rodney sees all the comments, he didn’t find it objectionable either.
And if we want to talk about “lewd acts” in movie theaters, the Colorado guy just trumped Fred Willard big time!

I still don’t get how MyP can get away with that vulgar word in the name. What is more offensive an alternate word for pulling as the tug boat tugged the barge or a word that means… Oh I can say it, I’m too offended. I blush everytime I see Patoo… heheh I can’t even type it now. So naughty.

I’ve been watching the news all day and even the sheriff of the town said at this time there is no relation between the movie and the shootings and would not even speculate as to why he chose this movie. If I had to guess, it’s because there were so many people there they would be like sitting ducks. 4 different sold out shows. that’s a lot of people to shoot at. And the reports about him being dressed as or acting like the Joker to this point have been repudiated. He was dressed in body armor and a helmet apparently.

So saying “tugging one off in an adult theater is OK” is just clarifying huh? Wow, that’s a stretch! I realized when I brought it up that it was probably hopeless. I’ve already seen how tight the circle of friends is here. We don’t want to chastise even one as we just might hurt their feelings. Even when they are wrong and out of line.

MP, you strike me as an ultra-ultra (maybe even a 3rd ultra) conservative. (So farrrrr to the right that you wouldn’t even ever make a left turn).
So, it surprises me that you seem to be blaming the movie. Shouldn’t it be more about the personal responsibility of the shooter?!
And I find the type of psychologists who appear on (so-called) News shows to be a dime a dozen. You can bet that anyone could find just as many that would disagree with that “expert’s” opinion. Any trial with an ‘insanity’ plea proves my point. “Experts” arguing on both sides!

*bknsty14* is obviously watching different news sources than I am. Not only that there are numerous news articles online that have noted the similarities. Skip around a bit, you might just learn more. So you and others think he just picked this place and setting at random huh? Wow, that’s amazing! The movie is about just such things as this.

In the first few hours after a big news story breaks almost all the talking heads have to talk about is pure speculation, sometimes calling in a professional speculator they keep on retainer. I’m sure when all is said and done this nut job will have been proven to have chosen this movie to guarantee a packed house which would produce more mayhem and increase his jollies. How ’bout that for speculation?

It is a PG13 movie based on comic book characters and Mercedes gets to go to previews and reports her opinion here on lots of movies and I for one, have enjoyed reading her opinions even though I haven’t posted on here that long I’ve read this blog for a long time. Now if the movie had been Natural Born Killers….
I participated in usenet newsgroups before there was a www (world wide web). The discussions here qualify for a G rating. Even movie producers can get away with one allotted f-bomb and keep a PG rating these days.

Of course only the “circle” are reading this, hey Circle! Let’s take a ring to Mordor just for fun!
I wonder if MyP get as offended when the news programs that they swear so much by imply that someone was “intimate” or someone “had relations” both terms imply something and both are as offensive as what I said. Oh that’s right MyP wasn’t offended at all but just did’t like me pointing out that they were incorrect.

So, we have now determined that MyP is actually “stroking” his/herself – wonder if that’s happening at an adult movie theater?
Actually, we can all just skip right over your petty posts MyP, and thusly not be irritated by your inanity. Hello all, long time no see! I share the following from ABC NEWS:
1. Law enforcement sources confirmed that Holmes(the killer) said, “I AM THE JOKER” when apprehended by police.
2. His hair was painted RED, the same color Heath Ledger’s JOKER at one point in the 2008’s “The Dark Knight”.
I am usually not one to say “I told you so”, but I did inform ye all thusly. No apologies necessary. I rest on my laurels.

I was wondering how long it would take MyP to come back.
1) Great, that has nothing to do with your earlier posts. You treated non-information then as “facts are facts” which they weren’t at that time. Just because you now have more supporting information it doesn’t follow that your earlier hypothesis was fact. It was simply a hypothesis that has now been more firmly substantiated.
2) Unless he wore a nurses outfit he wasn’t imitating the Joker with the red hair. Really. Watch the movie sometime, you’ll see.
Of course now MyP will take what limited information there is and try to use it to ban Batman movies, as MyP seemed to be advocting earlier when MyP was acting on non-facts and trying to use them as facts. So for that here is a favorite quote of mine, which was used to agrue agasint gun laws but equally applies to the type of control that MyP advocates: “You can’t stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws………THAT’S INSANE!!!” – Penn Jillette

I have to go back to earlier topics and say, Rodney, I am with Mercedes… you must ask about the WGWG fiasco (sorry, dear Sam) and about the “infected voting system”. (good way to put it, Mercedes.)
And Jessica with Curly Squealy? REALLY??? :-O
I will skip the latest topic. Except I loved Heath Ledger’s brilliant turn as the Joker last time, and for some reason I thought I remembered red hair? But I am SO not an aficionado, so I could be way wrong. Anyway, the shooting is just sickening. (and I have friends in suburban Denver, not all of whom have checked in. (I’m sure they’re fine, they probably just haven’t looked at their FB, but still.)

Jenny: “and for some reason I thought I remembered red hair?”
Heath’s Joker wore a red wig when he visited the Commissioner Gordon in the hospital. He was also wearing a nurses outfit at the time. However, his version of the Joker colored his hair green which matches every other version of the Joker.
See, I’m not afraid of facts, when they are actual facts.

OK, ya’ got me to look. Way to early to declare that there is a link to the subject matter of the movie for this nut. The attribution of the Joker statement has been made by an unnamed “federal official” and the New York Police Commissioner. And that only by CNN and ABC so far trying for sensationalism I assume, (also it isn’t a ABC/Disney production). Nothing of the sort from the Aurora Police Chief who has said the suspect isn’t talking and wore full body armor, helmet and a gas mask. Sounds like the Joker to me.
Even if they come out later with a link to the subject matter within a movie the suspect likely could not have seen beforehand.that has no bearing on whether the content of the movie is discussed the following day here. I recall a mass shooting in a church a few years ago. Does that mean people should not have discussed their own church happenings the next day? Should we blame it on the minister of the affected church for throwing too much fire and brimstone into his sermon?
