For the ‘Idol’ crew, a vacation spot

I’m on a break until July 21 so I’ll post periodic home entries for the regular “American Idol” crew to gather while I’m gone. I’ll post three this week (including this one).

Feel free to feed any breaking “Idol” related news while I’m gone. The tour has begun and auditions for season 12 continue. Let’s hope Phillip Phillips stays healthy. I don’t think “Idol” needs to pin down its judges until August so rumors of J. Lo’s departure will probably pop up again.

I also saw a story before I left that Corey Clark (you know, the season two contestant who allegedly slept with Paula Abdul) is suing MTV for $40 million, claiming he was unfairly ridiculed by one of its reporters. Given how libel laws work, given that he has been a public figure, I find it hard to believe he’ll get a penny from MTV. And a woman who threw a brick and broke a window on Simon Cowell’s house was punished. The story does not say what her motivations were.

Good morning. I will say this in two words to describe Corey:

Glutton Idiot!

Rodney should have named this blog entry “A thread for people who have no life” just to save someone else the trouble.

LOL! True, JT. Think of all the people who have lives who could skip telling us that we don’t.

Those “with lives” don’t seem too “busy” to find us, read all our “lifeless comments” and comment themselves – find that humerous!

Back to the other page – Robin Thicke is extremely slimy and creepy, and I agree he inherited it from his dad, who was also pretty creepy.

X-Factor auditions and Idol auditions are taking place at the same time this summer. Both are Fox shows. Doesn’t seem smart to me.

Have a good time, Rodney!

I am going to be at the SC coast all next week. North Myrtle Beach here I come!! An all-girl’s trip with my two sisters. Eating seafood, napping under the umbrella on the beach, reading a good book, a dip in the ocean (a very shallow one), a longer dip in the pool, happy hour and good wine with dinner. Meeting some old friends for lunch at The Sea Captain’s House! Mmmm. But, that is next week. For now, here I sit

Very good observation, D! Talk about diluting the pool! Do you have information that tells locations of both?

I envy your trip, Harriett, although I will be in San Jose babysitting while my d-i-l recovers from oral surgery. For a change, hubby will be staying home and holding down the fort.

I will be able to blog during nap time, however.

Well, Deirdre, I envy your trip, too. Wish my grandson was still small. They are such a joy!

Here is a peek at The Sea Captain’s House. Y’all can be imagining me sitting there: http://www.seacaptains.com/index.html :)

I will take my mini computer with me and probably have a chance to peek in, once beach time is over for the day.

Hmmmmm:

According to E-Online:

According to E!’s sources, Jennifer Lopez has “no plans to return” for a third stint, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is “up in the air” about re-committing and Randy Jackson may become a casualty because FOX wants to give the series “a new look” following poor ratings last season.

Have great trips you two.

I’m not surprised about Jennifer Lopez, she probably thinks that she can maintain her new found fame without Idol.

I hope they do get rid of all three, they are clowns.

I read somewhere that Aerosmith has gotten another whole demographic at their concerts since the Idol thing and they are very excited about it. They are even digging out material that had grown tiresome and giving it a new treatment. So, Joe Perry, for all of his pique at Tyler, has benefitted too.

Harriett: have I ever told you I don’t like you very much??!! Nasty little remarks like, “beachfront”, “dip in the ocean”, “fresh seafood” (I don’t eat warm-blodded animals, but do eat fish), lolling on the beach with “a good book” – yeah, not your biggest fan at the moment.

And, Deirdre – think I’ve oft expressed my longing for CA – would move in a snap (if I had the money to live there & enjoy a good life).

KD: I can imagine, I just pretty much stayed around the house last week (repairmen are so slow and pesky) and went to lunch a couple days – and it’s murder getting back into a work groove! I can’t concentrate on anything here. Just counting the tick-tocks until 5!

Sam-A, no you’ve never mentioned it, but glad to know how you feel! :)

KD, I will be in your shoes a week from Monday. It is always hard to leave the beach for me. Back when my cousins and I were small kids, our moms would leave the beach with all six of us crying, every single time. Then, when I got to be a teen and having such a great time meeting the boys, etc, I would cry all the way home too. I don’t cry any more, but I sure feel like it when I get back at work! :)

Saw Corey Clark’s sister last night on TV. She now plays women’s professional basketball, for the Sparks I think. A very cute young lady! She’s the one that he supposedly hit during an argument and got into trouble over it. Can’t remember all the details of it. Anyway she had a great career at MTSU in Murfreesboro TN and is now playing professionally. I had lost track of her until I saw her last nite.

I will take the mountains anyday over the beach, especially in the summertime. You guys can have all the beaches, with the sand that gets in places I didn’t even know I had. The Smokies, near Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is so nice, and then there’s my favorite place of all in TN, Falls River State Park. The waterfall there is simply amazing The most beautiful, serene place of all, and out in the middle of nowhere. My mind takes me there right now!

Back FROM a vacation, if that’s the wird for feeding 9 people three times a day for a week!
Love return to Atlanta where figs are just getting ready. And it’s so cool here, compared to Savannah; I bet at least three whole degrees!

Thanks for letting us have a place to play, RoHo and enjoy your time “off”.

E News has been busy today. Here’s the latest:

The American Idol judges table could look very different this fall!

Sources confirm exclusively that along with Adam Lambert (a story we reported earlier today), Idol’s big bosses are also considering some other notable names to join the cast, including: Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Fergie, Katy Perry and (frequent A.I. mentor) Will.I.Am.

Gary Busey would be like Stephen Tyler all over again.

Yep, they’re just throwin’ names at us for fun. But, I kinda like the idea of a Will. I. Am, Katy Perry, Adam Lambert mix

Katy Perry seems to be at the top of her game right now, so I don’t see her accepting anything long term at the moment (unfortunately!).

Just as they did with JLo and Steven Tyler, I think Idol is more likely to go with formerly popular artists who have a little name value.

And they DEFINITELY need to find someone who can critique honestly (brutally?) and not sugar coat every performance.

I really don’t think that Adam Lambert should be a judge. He is a good artist, but he hasn’t been “in the business” anywhere near what it would take to tell a contestant, “Best I’ve heard in the last 50 years”, “Best ever”, etc.. I’m hoping they don’t choose Adam even tho I like his music. Just saying.

California attorney

July 11th, 2012

The distinction that Clark is alleging is what we the public think we know as facts, are indeed fictitious false statements made about him by Idol & Viacom to shed Clark in an unfavorable false light. “If” Clark is telling the truth, Viacom & anyone else who defamed Clark are in trouble for this. Not only does it prove that what they did worked, it also means Clark is going to win this lawsuit after enduring that many years of defamation. According to the complaint on E! Online, Clark made Viacom aware years ago that what they were broadcasting and publishing about him was indeed defamatory & they continued to disseminate false facts about Clark to the public anyway with reckless disregard for the truth. Furthering whatever agenda the writer seemed to have against Clark. On top of that the libelous information is still available online for the millions of people worldwide that visit that site daily after being put on notice that it was defamatory! This isn’t good for Viacom. Many of you are under the false impression that freedom of the press grants the press the uncontested right to say anything about anyone that they want to & that’s not the law. In fact it’s abusive of the law & makes things worse for actual journalists with integrity hence the high punitive damges against MTV he’s asking for. That amount is not what he’s claiming he’s lost, it’s to punish the defendants for maliciously attacking him all of these years & to deter other similarly situated news organizations from doing the same, but I’m just a lowly attorney from California who isn’t on this case so what do I know right?? ;o)
