Given her career arc, it sure looks like it.
In an exclusive with The Hollywood Reporter, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star has signed with a branding agency to help launch a new clothing and accessory line.
The story uses proper fashion buzzwords, dubbing the line “fashion forward” and “affordable.”
Leakes signed with a company called Beanstalk. The executives proceeded to rave about her:
“While the fame of reality television characters is often short-lived and fleeting,” said Michael Stone, Beanstalk’s president and CEO, “NeNeLeakes has displayed versatility that has enabled her to transition from being a Real Housewives personality to a featured television star on Glee. NeNe’s mult-faceted personality and aspirational style will translate well into products that will emotionally connect with her fans.”
Said Allison Ames, president of North America at Beanstalk: “NeNe’s rise to fame has eclipsed that of any other reality television star today, providing a real opportunity to extend her brand.”
Leakes has decided to stay with “The Real Housewives” for a fifth season, now in production, despite plenty of work in Los Angeles, courtesy of Ryan Murphy. She had a recurring role in “Glee” and will also have a role in the upcoming NBC show by Murphy “The New Normal.”
Hellobeautiful.com said she was paid upwards to $1 million for the fourth season. If that’s even close to accurate, it’d be hard for Leakes to say no.

@Seemore’s Mom, I must say that although I’m no real fan of NeeNee Leakes, she is NOT a big woman at all. Have seen her several times around Atlanta and she’s about 5′11 and wears probably a woman size 8 and no more. I think her breast are not proportionate with her body and makes her appear lager than she really is. I’m going to wish her well and if she’s in Hollywood permanently than good for her!

I’m just happy for her. Why not? All of these other reality show stars are making bank, even the ones acting foolish. (Jersey Shore anyone?) So ride the wave all the way, I say. Also, I wish people would stop saying she’s a tranny or that she’s huge when she isn’t. Television adds pounds like you would not believe. She’s not big at all; I’ve actually heard many interviewers of NeNe state this. Also, I hope if it’s right she and Gregg still keep it going. I keep seeing pics of them vacationing/traveling together. It’s cool that the script is flipped financially for them since she always says that he took GOOD care of her in her early years.
Rock on, NeNe.
I also hope next season she gets back to being WHO made her the huge reality star she is: her honesty and feistiness. She was losing it this past season looking bored and anti-social.

I think that if she makes a go of it, then more power to her. If she doesn’t, she’ll bear the brunt of it. Good luck to you, NeNe. I probably won’t wear the clothes, but many others probably would.
Also, a lot of people don’t actually HATE NeNe – they HATE what she represents – cocky attitude, uncaring about others, back-stabber, etc. But then, she wouldn’t be interesting enough for the show, right?

Any “reality” personality has a very limited shelf life unless they have something viable to promote ahead of time. They must scramble to continue to remain relevant. Nene is not a nice person – I speak from personal interactions with her at several events. You can take the ho outta the ghetto, but you cannot take ghetto out of the ho. She will always be a classless joke to anyone who has accomplished something (her attitude of self-entitlement & importance is delusionally narcissistic).
That being said, snaps to her for clawing for anything to keep $ coming in. In 3yrs, she’ll be bankrupt.
