Tyler Perry denies report about issues with Bobbi Kristina and his TV show

The world of gossip has a scale of reliability.

On top are places such as People magazine, Associated Press  and Entertainment Tonight. If they report a celebrity is pregnant, getting divorced or was arrested for a DUI, chances are it’s true.

TMZ is very close behind and based on their track record, they are almost always correct. As a result, I will often cite TMZ.

Below them are murkier outlets such as RadarOnline and US magazine. They are sometimes right but wrong often enough that I proceed with serious caution.

So when I read an “exclusive” from Radaronline today about Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, who lives locally, supposedly walking off the set of TBS’s “Tyler Perry’s For Better Or Worse,” I took it with a serious grain of salt. The story claimed she had left the show in a lurch, forcing them to do rewrites on her recurring character.

I decided not to write anything until Perry had something to say.

And he did.

Perry posted on his website today saying the Radaronline story was false. He wrote that she did her job just fine and production ended without incident. He acknowledged that Bobbi Kristina was still grieving and not always chipper. But that didn’t mean she didn’t do her job.

His headline: “LEAVE THIS BABY ALONE AND STOP THE LIES PLEASE!!!” And here’s some of what he wrote:

After Whitney’s funeral, Krissi and I spent a long time talking about her goals and dreams. She said she wanted to act. That’s when I decided to write her into “For Better Or Worse”. I thought that there would be no better way for me to help her move through the grieving than by giving her something to focus on. The one thing that I learned after my mother’s death is that you have to keep busy and you have to be around people who you can trust, so that when you do grieve you can do it in the safety and privacy of people that care.

Were there tough days for her? Yes of course. Not because of the acting or any job-related issues but because of the fact that she had just lost her mother. And being someone who knows about losing their mother, I know grief comes in different ways and you never know when it’s going to hit you or how it’s going to hit you, for that matter. Some days you’re smiling and happy and some days you’re so broken that you can’t stop crying. So yes she was grieving, but grief aside, she managed to finish her obligation and did a great job at the same time.

So please… PLEASE LEAVE THIS BABY ALONE!!!! AND SHE IS A BABY!!! Please stop the lies and give this child some room to breathe and grieve.

People.com in March accurately broke the news that Bobbi Kristina had snagged  a recurring role on Perry’s dramedy, which will return for a second season in July.

I feel her pain. However, being thrown into the spotlight is not going to make her grow up any faster or grieve any less. Perhaps he should give her an office job to help her get ready for the world. We send our kids off to school and hold our breaths hoping they become independent and mature adults.
Maybe she should be known as Bobbi Kristina Brown and not Whitney Houston’s daughter

She was thrust onto the Hollywood scene without any guidance or supervision.

My granddaughter just graduated from Mt. Zion High School with a young man who received over $600,000 dollars in scholarships but they all went to Six Flags this past weekend! Maybe this is the life she needs to experience and be a teen. You are right. Give her a break but give her a life. Growing up doesn’t mean you are a grownup.

She wants to act. He writes her into his show. And now it’s “leave this baby alone.” OK.

I felt that even TYLER should leave this girl alone.

Everyone–i.e., Tyler, Oprah, etc.–are pulling her to do this or that, using her for THEIR own purposes.

This girl should have just taken time AWAY from any cameras to heal from the loss of her mother, not thrust out into a spotlight for which she probably doesn’t even have acting or vocal skills. Let her grieve!! Get counseling. clean up her bad social habits, etc.

It’s ashamed that all these actors are paying for classes and taking their craft seriously. Unfortunately someone can come along on the same destuctive path as their parent and get a part just cause they are a child of an icon…..SMDH The industry is even trying to make MJ’s kids follow his musical path & those are not his biological kids. Just because someone of great talent raise a child does not mean that talent will be past down.

Will Smith’s kids, Demi Moore’s daughters, Dr. Phil’s sons, and now Whitney Houston’s daughter. Can you say “nepotism”? How about hiring people for their talent, and not because of who their parents are.

People need to be real with ugly child because she seems she is to get by off the talents of mothers. She need to take her ungrateful self somewhere and get some help for her issues.

People need to be real with that ugly child because she seems to think she is supposed to get by in life based on the talents of her mother but she is NOT Whitney Houston. She need to take her ungrateful self somewhere and get some help for her issues and people like Tyler Perry need to to stop enabling her gap tooth self. You have TRAINED ACTORS that can’t get a job and yet he gives it to that ungrateful person….

There is so much hatorade going around. People can be so intolerant. At the end of the day, Bobbi will have to find her own way. Tyler, Oprah and others can offer support, but if she survives and thrives, it will be because she learned how to make good decisions. I would like for us all to simply wish her well.

I am not a Tyler Perry fan, but I lost my own mother at the age of 23 & keeping busy did assist cope me as well. However, it is something that some people never heal from & having people she can trust is important. Everyone copes differently with loss. I will continue to lift her up in prayer. God bless us all.

While I commend Tyler on helping her….SHE IS NOT A BABY! I hate that she lost her mom, shame on Whitney because she brought that on herself. My sister drinks heavily and they just don’t give a damn about their family. Although I like the fact that he wants to keep her busy, how about giving others that are no superstars or children of superstars a chance.

I still can’t understand how they were able to spend all that money on crack, but couldn’t find a few grand to fix the grill on that poor girl. That’s the real tragedy in all this. Whole mouth could have been paid for by skipping one of their nightly benders.

After reading a lot of your comments I thought I would put this out there, you need to know what your talking about before you comment on something. First of all Bobbi said back in 2009 she wanted to sing & do what her mother did on the Oprah show when Oprah interviewed her mother also Whitney said at that same time she was grooming her, which included voice lessons & acting lessons, so this is something she was already working towards before her mother died, she also said (Bobbi) in the interview with Oprah after her mother died that her mother (Whitney) had been getting her ready & preparing her) The Tyler’s & the Oprah’s are friends of her mother I think they would know how to help her best, not you all on this blog with nothing else to do, if you have kids raise your own your way, what’s good for yours may not be good for Whitney’s child and I’m sure she does do fun stuff that teenagers do she has teenage cousins. You all need to get a life!!

Man, people are JERKS on here! I hope when you experience the loss of your mother, people don’t call you ugly and talk about your teeth. I agree that Tyler Perry is exploiting her for his own gain, that’s the bottom line of Hollywood, so no surprises there. And, sorry Tyler, Bobbi Kristina is a YOUNG WOMAN, not a baby!!! How degrading to rob her of that!

@ Wisconsin

You need to get over yourself for real and comprehend that different people have different opinions and I know this may be a “revelation for you but the world does not revolve around your opinion”.

I’m quite sure there are people here who have lost people just as I have but guess what “the world did not stop for our losses and they aren’t stopping for the loss of her mother”,she is not the only person in the world that has lost her mother and I refuse to treat her as she has.Someone needs to let that brat know the truth as opposed to coddling her ugly self…..

You’re on here just as any hypocrite telling people “they need to burn in hell” and yet you say we are the hateful ones? LOL….Ignoramuses like you need to learn the difference between “hate and truth telling”….
