Jo-Jo, thanks for posting! Well said. I ADORE Joshua. He is so natural, just sings his soul out w/o even trying. And what fun to watch, too! (And I am in no way a gospel fan…!) Just like Skylar, she just belts it out w/o thinking. Passion! Maybe that’s what rubs me the wrong way about Jessica and Holly; they are a little too studied.

I like this song for Hollie. It fits her really well. Won’t go so far as to say best of the night, but it is certainly a highlight for both the night and her personally.

You need to listen to Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett and David Ruffin of The Temptations and tell me that they are bad. Joshua Ledet is a true talent. His voice is fashioned after these GREAT singers—legends. Just because you don’t like the style, respect it. He hits notes (has a bigger range) and has control with more power than many of the others left in the competition (eg., Phil Phillips). The vocal runs, performance, etc. It amazes me that people who like rock call the gospel singers shouty and the people who like gospel call the rock singers tinny and screechy. They are both power singing but in different ways.

You can always tell when Hollie is comfortable with a song. She was a totally different singer with this song than she was with the richly deserved criticism of the first song

Holler23….Joshua does scream. I LOVE all types of music and love gospel and quite honestly he has screamed on all of the gospel songs he has sung…not attractive !

A gospel singer as American Idol? Don’t think so. I guess it boils down to what a person likes. I think you are right holler23 but I would never vote for Joshua like I didn’t vote for Jacob.

I’m very disappointed that the judges continually “over” express there admiration for Joshua…I think it’s unfair and demeaning to the other contestants…It defiantly sways the decision of the voting public..It’s not their place to hand pick the winner!! I think they are there to give advice and criticism…I’m surprised the others haven’t just walked off! I know I’m wondering about the fairness of the competition! And if I’m going to continue to watch… Really a standing O every week! I haven’t been that impressed…Makes you wonder!!

The judges standing up every time Joshua finishes his songs are just so biased and now I don’t even believe it anymore. It’s too bias and because of that I don’t feel like voting for him.
