I actually agree with Jon C. on the rankings.

If Skylar was that good, where was her standing O.

Joshua is obviously a favorite of JLo and Randy and they will not stop cramming him down our throats. I’m sorry, but I think that we have all heard Joshua’s kind of voice before….. How about giving someone truly unique a shot instead of these cookie cutter screamer, over singers that are becoming very ho hum.

I heard it, Deirdre, but I heard it on others, too. That is what is making people vote for Hollie, because they ignore some transgressions and majorly point out others.

Round 1

1.Elise
2. Joshua
3. Phil
4. Skylar
5.Jessica
6.Hollie.

Seriously, I think the judges criticisms of Hollie are making some people deaf to the bad notes she hits. The big note in that song was way off!

A standing O too many times in a row is like a ‘kiss of death’. If a fan sees a standing O being given by judges too somebody that is not their ‘idol’ … the hater factor is stoked. This usually results in a torrent of hate posts … which can work against the idol gifted with the standing O.

Jessica was a victim of that IMO (nearly eliminated). Joshua is going to be the second casualty.

Fuuny right?

Anyone know when the tribute band is supposed to play? Marc Martel is the only person on the planet that can sing like Freddy.

Rugged, you must not have been watching all season. Phil2x ALWAYS sings like he’s hurting. As a matter fact, with this kidney stone issues and stent, he actually is hurting. I give him props.

What J. Lo was really trying to explain to Hollie was – “we want you off the show now”, but I’m going to ramble on-and-on about thinking, as if no one thinks, especially me, because I no think, but I can do those video’s, ya know … , (so it sounds like I’m trying to give you good advice) it’s for your own good baby.

Round One rankings: 1 – Elise
2 – Joshua
Everyone else go home.

So voting for the girl who is arguably the weakest singer in this group is ok because the judges are mean to her and not to the others? That’s a great reason!

Haa haa haa, who would have “thunk” Jessica would be signing Dance with my Father?

The judges love Jessica and Joshua and only give them praise becuase they want them in the finale. Hollie sang with as much passion as Jessica but they tear her down. Elise deserved the standing O; not Joshua. So unfair of the judges because they could give all the contestants more confidence by judging impartially and letting their true colors shine without biased teardowns. Agree with Jon C’s rankings

Jojo A – Astute observation. Definitely agree with that.

Okay, Phillip may be hit or miss with me in his songs, but I would totally hang out with him! His dry humor is hilarious!

For the first time, I actually liked Elise’s performance. Entertaining, and she sang like she meant it rather than putting on a false persona. As for Phil – though as a person he is great, I am finally tired of him. Hey, ya’ll bloggers out there! OOOOOHHHH — Jessican is sounding nice right now. Although, wait, she is off key a little, and there is that unmistakable, unpleasant STRAIN in her voice.

Jessica is singing Dance With My Father heartbreakingly well

Jon C

Much prefer this song to Jessica’s voice than to, say, Joshua’s. I thought that was beautiful and heartfelt. I bought that completely! Gorgeous.

But, Deirdre, it’s what many people do, vote underdog. And while I totally agree she’s not any where near the best, they really rip her a new one on crap the others get by with. I’ve never voted for her, but I will admit, it ticks me off to see the undeserved standing O’s

Jacob was way better last year. Shut up with the best ever comments JLo. It was good, but not epically great.

J-LO, come on, really? The best version of that Luther Vandross song? No way. It’s a great song and she sang it nicely but nothing outstanding.

If it was the best JLo ever sang, especially since the “tenderness” and “feeling” was there, why didn’t she give a Standing O? Crappy judges. Has she been given a standing o at all in this competition????

Jon C

Kupkake – I’ve noticed that too. The last few interviews he’s done he hasn’t had a lot of energy.

Deirdre

But Hollie didn’t get ripped this time. The judges mentioned the bad notes which she DID hit. She deserved the criticism this time.

And btw, Jessica just brought tears to my eyes with a song that usually makes me gag!

Country twang, picking a song with a quirky title that also mentions trucks, yep Skylar is country. Nothing exciting for me on this one y’all.

Philip is a bankable star. That man’s got it made. He’s got that ‘recognizability’ quality. If you hear him sing over the radio … you’ll know it’s him. Stars with this quality are … Neil Diamond, Michael Bolton, Barbara Streisand, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, Frank Sinatra blah …blah.

And as the girls say … he’s easy on the eyes.

Deirdre

Who deserved it? I didn’t hear any bad notes from anyone but Hollie tonight. Joshua was over-the-top as usal but on key, so was Skylar and Phil and Jessica and definitely Elise.

Sorry I’m late, everyone. I wonder what would happen if the judges just shut up and let the audience vote without commenting. Let’s try that! Jacob is like Skylar: they each have a certain style. Remember back many years ago when they would not allow the singers to adjust the songs to fit them? You did not have the option of making something country or soul. It wrecked a lot of singers. Now, they let you modify the tune. Also, why doesn’t anyone ever forget the lyrics like they did in the first few years?

Just a matter of opinion, Deirdre!! No argument at all!

Skylar is a spitfire and a great girl with a good voice. I’m just really against another country winner after last year. She has a good chance of winning.
