Katy Perry, who has had several No. 1 hits in Atlanta already, is now No. 2, with comparable spins as Clarkson on B98.5, Star and Q100, but only 39 spins on Wild.

The fastest rising single was Adele’s “Rumour Has It,” which was originally a hit on adult alternative radio, including Dave FM. Now it’s a top 40 hit, with spins on Star and B98.5. Two other fast-rising songs: Flo Rida’s “Wild Ones” and Maroon 5’s new single “Payphone.”

Taylor Hicks new residence is Vegas? There’s a reason he’s in Vegas. That’s where all the “death” acts go to retire into the obscurity they are. In his case? Always was. LMAO!!!! Soul patrol is finally dead.

That cannot be Kelly Clarkson in that photo. She only wishes she looked that good! If that’s her, it was photo-shopped, etc.

of note is that Kicks 101.5 now does a syndicated CMT show nightly instead of a local jock now. so those adds may or may not be actual adds.

Thanks for the Kelly update, Rodney.

Rumors are all over the place that Philx2’s kidney stone problem is getting worse. He’s exhausted and in a great deal of pain which explains why he was not in last week’s Ford music video.

Yes that’s Kelly and yes, of course the picture has been photoshopped. Do you honestly believe that any formal celebrity picture hasn’t been?

Morning!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mercedes, I’d post the Times article you sent but I can only get one page to come up.

Going back to the weekend discussion on last thread: my fave Bo performance was the one dedicated to his Dad, Jim Croce’s “Time In A Bottle” – a beautiful performance.

Deirdre: Sorry to see that Philipx2’s kidney problem may be causing him trouble – stones are a very painful condition. Hope he can get some medical attention this week and be ok for the shows.

Someone, maybe Jenny (?), mentioned that Px2 should sing, among others, REM – he did sing their version of Otis R’s “Hard To Handle”, and that’s the week I went from the “dont like” column to th “do like” one! He was really good on it. Would like to see him do some Allman stuff.

Nice to see that Kelly Clarkson girl doing well. She may have a future in the music biz! :-)

Sam, I have always thought of Bo as one of the most under-rated Idols ever. The guy has loads of talent and would have won just about any other year. Another favorite Bo performance of mine was Vehicle:

And speaking a Philx2’s kidney problems, Bo was another Idol who’s career got off to a very slow start because of a series of surgeries he need when the show was over. I think his future would have been a lot brighter without the physical problems slowing him down.

I remember Bo having some pretty serious surgeries, stomach related I think, right after Idol and for a few years after. In fact, I seem to remember he cancelled a concert in ATL because of an emergency surgery. I really liked Bo, and voted for him to win – he sang my kind of music, which Carrie, even though she has a nice voice, didn’t at all.

Along those lines, the AJC reports a Dr saying Robin Gibb has colo-rectal cancer – that’s what killed Farah Fawcett. Sadly, especially as he’s only 52 years old, this is most likely a death sentence. Must be hard on Barry, the eldest son, to see all 3 brothers gone or near it.

Hi y’all…

To be accurate, yes, that’s clearly Kelly. However, the photo is a still from the Stronger video. Which, I suppose you can photoshop a video, but either way, she looks good!

Poor Phillip. Over at MJs there’s a post that his mom is asking for prayers as he’s in a lot of pain.

Seems like Blake needs some new “eyes”. Of course that’s Kelly. She’s actually a very pretty girl, just doesn’t always have makeup artists and hair stylists fixing her up. Ever seen any of the “top models” without their makeup? Don’t look anything like they do in magazines. Most of us girls need a little face paint to reach our prettiest level.

I don’t know about “top models” Sam-A, but I saw a reality show competition for cross dressers and a little bit of makeup and a touch of tape does do wonders.

JT: I’ve seen some cross-dressing men who were actually prettier than many women. And more feminine to boot.

The nominations for the 2012 CMT Music Awards were announced this morning and it’s safe to say the ladies are showing those fellas who’s boss. Country cutie and perpetual crossover fave Carrie Underwood led the way, scoring a leading five nominations, including Video and Performance of the Year, closely followed by Miranda Lambert, who nabbed four nods for both her solo and group work.

Read that Neil Diamond married his 42-year-old manager.

Guess she just went from making 15-20% to at least 50% when the marriage ends.

Woodpappy: Looked for you again at the Dogwood Festival. There were 5 or 6 woodworkers there, so I stopped at each and looked for the names. There was a huge crowd yesterday, and the weather was just spring perfect. I heard one vender (not sure which, so don’t know his product) saying he’d made $5000 the first day. You should really look into it.

And, the Marietta Square has a Farmers Market every Saturday for hald a day 9:00-1:00, and there are many venders and huge crowds. They’ve made a section for crafts, etc – jewelry, pottery, dog gifts, etc – you might also check into setting up there occasionally – your stuff is lovely, and who knows, there might be a demand for it.

Sam, yes, that was me that suggested the Allmans or REM for Phil. (I didn’t know REM covered Hard to Handle, but I hate that song (sorry Otis :-) ) … so it made me dislike Phil. Now, if he’d do some good, classic, older REM like Fall On Me or Superman, I might be able to get behind him….

It’s completely illogical, but if someone picks a song I like, I’m much more apt to like ***them***. And vice versa. That’s really been hurting Phil for me… most of the music he picks, I can’t stand. (That, and of course the fact that I just can’t take seeing yet another same-old WGWG be the chosen one.) But I really want to like him, being from Georgia and all… I wish he would win me over, I really do.

From the earlier thread… Rodney, LFMOA (or whatever) was pretty bad. But I think the worst-ever was that thing that spells its name with the dollar signs. (It screeched at us a couple of years ago, remember?)

Mercedes, Seth and Alex – I don’t watch Idol because of the judges. They used to be important, back when Paula and Simon were on, but now I agree with Seth: cut about 70% out of these huge salaries and use… it for finding & developing talent around the country —– with real talent scouts and Judges —- that could produce a really great show from the top 24 up. I think that would make for a much better show, and maybe the same guy wouldn’t always win. ;-)

Jenny: I like to hear songs I like, and am familiar with – much easier to judge how good (or in many cases, bad) a singer is doing. However, I hate to hear someone butcher a song I love, as Jessica did with “Try A Little Tenderness” last week. Most disappointing.
