‘American Idol’ top 7 (part 2) live blogging
No more save and honestly, it’s a tough call who will go home. Elise and Hollie are the likeliest candidates right now and I think it’ll be Elise – finally. But given how spread out support is, we could have a shock tonight, though unlike last week, we aren’t getting TMZ-like leaks of such a shock. So I’ll stick with Elise right now. Kris Allen and LMFAO perform and the show producers are putting together a dedication to Dick Clark. Anyway, live blog below with me from 8 to 9 p.m. or slow blog comments as usual. Either way, I’ll have a recap up soon after 9 p.m. EST.

It is a tough call, but I think you may be right Rodney. Even if the elimination is a “shock” I doubt they would release the information after the beating they took for the leak last week.

I think it may be Elise, however I would not be surprised if it is Jessica. Although there are many that love her, many others really dislike her.
In addition, fans appear totally disgusted with the judges comments/actions.

They start the show by saying no more second chances, bu tthe only people who have gotten second chances this year are Jessica with the save, The Gentle Giant for getting to come back, DeAndre for being a judges pick at the beginning. And one other person I can’t remember. Those are all the judges pets getting the saves, not the ones America want.

Joshua is not that great. He’s good, but not one of the best. Maybe they should all cry at the end of their songs so they could get a standing ovation. If a song of his came on the radio, I would turn it off.

Joshua has a beautiful voice but I think her over sings every song. Sometimes a good song can stand on its own. Not every song needs to turn into a Joshua screamer. Just my taste tho.

I’ve come to the conclusion the young audience things Elise is too old. She has a naturally good voice, is versatile and doesn’t sound the same every week. I would buy her dvd, I’d attend her show. Hope she stays in the competition.

Everybody likes different style of music and singer. I think they can all sing but they will have their own audience that enjoys them. I am really glad Joshua is safe though

I actually love Elise. I’m 20…and I listen to metal, punk..techno, etc.. I like Colton’s style..but I just don’t like his voice..I feel like he’s going to win..(the little girls are going to vote for him because he’s ‘hot’. Honestly, I like Jessica and Elise best.

Too tired to comment tonight. Had a two hour interveiw today with a written test at the end. Very nerve racking!!!! With Hollie in the bottom 3, I don’t think Jessica will be.

This year I do not have a favorite. Whoever wins is ok by me. I think I am watching out of habit. Not so sure I would buy any of their CDs either.

I agree Oscar. Elise is my favorite, but I think she’s out of place. I remember watching the top 42 and then top 25 and thought the judges had chosen quite a few “older” contestants. I thought it was a good mix of young and older contestants such as Jen Hirsh, Erika VP, Elise and some other older guys. But now all the older ones are gone and elise is the only left, she can’t compete with the guys that get all the votes from the teenagers.

I’d like to see Jessica go to Broadway musicals. There is something about her music I don’t like and aside fromthe second song last night, she looks and sounds the same performance after performance.
