Here’s the spot to live blog “Idol” tonight. Else, feel free to post comments below. The seven singers will sing two songs each so it’s going to be a little tighter than normal when they tend to run six songs per hour. The them is now and then. This means songs from the past 12 years and a classic soul song. Some of the “leaked” songs include artists such as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Earth, Wind & Fire, Dusty Springfield and Marvin Gaye in the past to Lady Gaga (twice), Adele, Alicia Keys (twice), Fantasia and the lone current male, Usher.
Rodney Ho covers TV and radio, from Atlanta’s stations to the hottest “American Idol\" news.

We have a standing rule on this blog that name-calling directed at other posters will get you removed from the blog. If you are unable to make a point without calling someone a name then maybe you should move on to a place that has lower standards

Miss Javon – Whoa, take it easy. I’ve been reading all of the posts and no one is trying to antagonize you or pick a fight with you.
I agree with your opinions of Colton, I really do. But you kinda need to chill out.

Even though not a super-wow, I enjoyed both Jessica and Skylar’s performance in the 2nd round.

Poor Elise … Not her absolute best, but she has it all over Phil, Colton, and Holly. Judges comments way off.

Deidre, my post on “disagreeing with you” was meant for your comment on Jessica exploding all over the stage, not your comment on Miss J.

Judge’s pick sucks, If Simon was still on the show, he would say, what in the Hell are you talking about. To many screamers for me!!!

Jessica was “trying” too hard. Too much yelling from Skylar. Phillip and Hollie have the best pair of performances so far.

Hollie’s only bad lines were when she was walking down the stairs. She did really well after that. People need to stop doing that. they’re trying so hard to not fall down the stairs that their singing suffers. I have hated almost every performance in the second half. I liked hers and skylar (if she would have screamed less).

They Ali did so much better on their first songs. Could be the nerves setting in but I heard an awful lot of yelling and straining. Jessica sang one of my all time favsong and did not do it well.

I’ve just decided – “Change is Gonna Come” is the black singer’s version of “Hallelujah.” Anybody who can carry a tune can do a decent job with such a powerful song.
What’s surprising to me is that Josh is not doing as good of a job as he predictably should have. He’s not present. He’s just going through the motions. There have been contestants in the Hollywood rounds who’ve sung with more passion than that.
OH…MY….GOD. Standing O? Judges….ugh, I don’t even know what to say to them anymore. Just go away.

The judges have their agenda, especially when the saved Jessica. They were very unfair to Elise tonight because of their agenda. I hope the public sees this for what it is and votes the allotted 2 hours for Elise. Let’s show these &$)$& whos the best.

Miss J. Calling someone “ignorant” is unkind and unnecessary. While you may not have liked what Atlanta Native asked you, there are better ways to respond. That’s all I’m saying. We don’t call other posters names. Post all you want, your opinions are valuable and valid and we all appreciate hearing them but please, once again, do not call other posters ignorant

If Joe Cocker and Louis Armstrong could have a son his name would be Phillip Phillips.
This may give my age away but I don’t care! He is one of my two favorites…

Certain josh won round two. He was the best of the second round for sure. Sang it very will with good restraint because he could have really done too much with it. But he did not. People may not like him but the boy can sing.

Jon C – you are absolutely correct, Change is Gonna Come is the black singer’s version of Hallelujah. Is that necessarily a bad thing? When that song is sung, it is sung with emotion, an appreciation for the meaning of the song. Can bring tears to any person..white, african, indian, latino, etc. Hell, any minority group. It’s powerful, and as a black woman, he did a damn good job!
