‘American Idol’ live blogging top 7 performance (part deux)
Here’s the spot to live blog “Idol” tonight. Else, feel free to post comments below. The seven singers will sing two songs each so it’s going to be a little tighter than normal when they tend to run six songs per hour. The them is now and then. This means songs from the past 12 years and a classic soul song. Some of the “leaked” songs include artists such as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Earth, Wind & Fire, Dusty Springfield and Marvin Gaye in the past to Lady Gaga (twice), Adele, Alicia Keys (twice), Fantasia and the lone current male, Usher.

Oh dear. Close your eyes during Colton’s performance and you hear nothing special. Nice costume, great song – but he didn’t write the song and he ain’t singing it any better than any energetic well-dressed teen. NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT HIS VOICE. And nothing special about his presentation. Kinda karaoke if you ask me. Also, his faced looked like he was trying REALLY hard to impress. I’m not buying him at all.

Really don’t like this kid. Not last year and not this year. He’s whiny and needs to go. Who would buy an album full of his garbage?

What I like – this song choice for Elise.
What I don’t like – that damn fan (it’s like a bad music video!)
What I’m indifferent to – Elise’s performance in general.
Hollie still holds the best of the night for me so far.

Elise is like this year’s Hayley. She started out with no respect and has had to fight for votes every week. I like her a lot and I think she sang that song beautifully

I didn’t care for Colton singing Lady GaGa. It did nothing for him except make him lose votes. I wouldn’t vote.
Elise did the song well. I see JLo is still saying “goosies,” but have now incorporated STyler’s “beautiful” with her signature goosies…UUGGHH.
I’m walking around and haven’t even looked at the judges attire. Let me see this lavender jacket, but I’m at a commercial. Tuna fish sandwich for dinner.

I have liked Phil from the beginning and his originality. But every song is sung the same exact way with that off-beat attack of the phrasing and gruff voice. Does anyone else see how repetitive he is on song after song?

Yes, AN, but that’s how most artist are. I turn on the radio, and even if it’s a new song, I know who is singing it because of their voice and style.
