‘American Idol’ top 9 live blogging
If you want to live blog (or simply use the comments below), you have two options. Tonight the nine singers will do songs from their idols. To fill extra time since they have stretched what should be a 90 minute show to two hours is some sort of medley of Madonna songs. Or something like that. Nigel has tweeted that Jessica will do Beyonce (not Mariah!) while Hollie will take on Carrie Underwood and Skylar, Miranda Lambert.

When I finally catch up to Phil…sorry..not impressed. He is a watered down version of Dave Mathews. A very much wannabe version but missing the mark by a mile. If you were to put up a split screen of the two, you can see Philx2 mimicking every move, every stance, every pluck. Sorry Phil…you are no Dave Mathews.

Phillip was definitely entertaining tonight, and loved loved loved the performance…during the chorus. He didn’t sing the verses though, he “said” them. I will buy the studio recording though cause I’m sure it will be better polished, but he’s certainly in the upper group tonight.

Okay Jubie…Dave Matthews. If you REALLY want to get technical with the spelling. Yawn. Like I said..I’m no church girl but WHAT is wrong with Tim Tebow’s and Colton Dixon’s going after the Christian vote? Is there something WRONG with that? Since when is it a BAD thing for a person to pronounce their belief in God and living life by biblical standards? I don’t but CERTAINLY do not condemn another who does. Good for them…I’m sure they make better choices in life than I do.

Exactly – we do that on set lists, never more than 2 slow songs in a row. People want to dance or rev-up, not have slow dinner music for the whole night.

Colton: no voice. boring. nothing new. death warmed over. Not seein or hearin anything beautiful except for his personal feelings, which doesn’t translate to a very listenable or satisfying experience to listen to him.
Jessica: nice voice, power, but when she belts it out, which she does quite often, she screams. She loses the beauty that she does in her vibrato and quieter, softer moments and, again, not pleasing to listen to; want to turn down the volume and change the station.
Phillip: original as hell. Fun to watch. Passion galore. Unique voice.
