If you want to try the live blog but are easily distracted(that’s always been one of my problems) try it by doing the following:
1. Turn down the sound on your computer(the constant clicking whenever a new post appears is really annoying)
2. Vow to never post or read posts when someone is singing. Believe me, there’s plenty of time, what with the judges useless critiques and the commercials, to catch up and post something yourself.
3. If you still get distracted than head on down here to the slow blog and join in.

Late to the party (like really late!) But here’s what I’ve got so far- the girls are stomping on the guys and sweeping them off the floor, and that was just after the first 2-3 singers! Girls year for sure, and I NEVER say that. I’m always partial to the guys.
Chelsea – Sang a Carrie stock song, and I thought for sure she would tank, but I was surprised at how well she did with it! She can’t belt the higher notes like Carrie, but she has better stage presence than when Carrie was on the show.
Ericka – LOVED her! Power rock ballads are definitely her thing! I sorta agree with Jennifer, she probably could have let loose a little more. Still, doesn’t take away from the fact that she out did just about every guy.
Jen – Amazing, as always. Though her voice started to strain a bit towards the end of the song. Still, she’s a shoe in for the finals.
Brielle – Ugh. Hate her, and she started the song off terribly. Plus, the song really isn’t suited for a girl’s voice. And it wasn’t written to be upbeat. Halfway through she found her groove, but it won’t matter. She’s an easy cut.
Hallie – Wow, wasn’t expecting that. She really did well, which says a lot considering Adam Lambert SLAYED that song when he was on. Could make the finals because of that.
Skylar – I have not been a fan of hers, I’m not big on country and she’s too growly for my taste. But she impressed me for the first time tonight, and wow! That last note from her came from nowhere! She may go through, if not for her voice, spunk or stage presence than for the short skirt she wore. Not trying to be shallow, just saying sometimes people vote that way.
Baylie – Tried to do a countrified Jessica Rabbit. And if anyone thought that might be a winning combo, it’s not. Didn’t help that she sang poorly either. Her only positive is that she crazy hot, but honestly so are a lot of the other girls. Another easy cut in my opinion, especially cause the other two female country girls were better.
Hollie – She did okay I guess, but it wasn’t anything special. Forgettable, and she’s probably gone.
Haley – Well this was interesting. I didn’t know hardly anything about Haley, so getting this from her was definitely a surprise. Yes she was off most of the song, and yes she picked a creepy song, but she did something very unexpected. She could be a topic of convo at the water cooler tomorrow. Will that translate into her being voted into the finals? Probably not.
Finally, I would just like to say how ecstatic I am about finding this online group. I love talking about the performances with fellow Idol watchers, but I don’t have many friends who watch. Hope to continue commenting on this thread for future shows!

I’m a big Shannon Magrane fan. She started off rocky, but found her groove and nailed the end! Plus, she did something most other girls didn’t do – she dressed classy! She is a very attractive girl, but instead of showing of leg or cleavage, she dressed conservatively and modestly, which to me is very appealing. I hope she makes it to the top 13.

Oh wow. Elise’s opening was rock solid, plus she’s been the only girl to play an instrument, and I always love when contestants do that.

Pitchy – Yeah the only reason I didn’t put Skylar in the ‘Upper Tier’ is because I feel like a lot of the other girls can out-sing her. It’s just a matter of if her presentation and personality can win more votes than some of the other girls’ voices. Plus I’m still not a whole-hearted Skylar fan, but she definitely improved in my personal rankings tonight.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s results. So glad the girls did well! Bit of a redeeming episode.
