In the wake of his surprise hit “Forget You,” Atlanta’s Cee Lo Green over the past year has been nabbing plenty of big gigs. Wearing a peacock outfit on the Grammys. Being a judge on NBC’s surprise hit “The Voice.” Changing the lyrics of “Imagine” on Times Square New Year’s Eve.

And now he is set to be on the biggest platform of them all: the Super Bowl half-time show.

Though the news is not “official,” multiple outlets say he will join Madonna on stage in Indianapolis
. What will he do? We don’t know yet. But he’ll surely wear something outrageous. And we can only hope he doesn’t pull a Janet Jackson. (Others scheduled to be  joining Madonna are LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and MIA.)

Not coincidentally, NBC is airing the second season debut of “The Voice” after the Super Bowl ends so Cee Lo will show up again with his judge cohorts Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera.

In an emailed press release which acknowledges Green’s pending appearance on the half-time show, AllState said it has sponsored a live online concert with Cee Lo at 8 p.m. on Saturday before the Super Bowl.

Why would either one of these people perform during the Super Bowl?

Cee Lo does a duet with Melanie Fiona called Fool for You which is a JAM! It would be quite a treat to hear him and Madonna do that tune

The question is why would CeeLoo want to preform with Madonna. He’s clearly an accomplished musician and she is a dancer.

@mecq 100 million viewers is why Cee Lo would want to perform with Madonna. And she happens to be a dancer who is a musical legend, too.

What in the world was C-Lo (as opposed to J-Lo) thinking with that outfit?

Is he going for a Gladiator/Oompah Loompah look?

Huh?

Sorry but I don’t think Madonna could pull off Melanie Fiona’s part in the song “Fool For You”. Madonna was never a great singer.

I think it’s pathetic that Madonna is performing. Could they find any more of a has-been? Her career ended years ago. At least geriatric rockers like Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones can still rock!

Maybe he can help save the superbowl halftime show, although with Madonna it will be an uphill task. They’ve been spiraling towards the bottom lately, I didn’t think it could get any worse after the black eyed piss (ACK), then they chose Madonna. Who the he!! is actually on these committees anyway? Please get rid of the has been or never were pop stars and give the superbowl some real music.
Prince was awesome, as were The Who, even Tom Petty was decent, but then again, all of them are actual musicians with talent. Cee-lo has talent as well, so maybe someone realized that they may need some actual talent on stage to rescue Madonna. They did the same thing with Slash and the black eyed piss, but it was too bad for even Slash to resuscitate.
