‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ recap: season 4, episode 12: Marlo vs. Sheree!

Loading ...Honestly, most fans watch these “Housewives”-type shows for the silly cat fights. Sometimes, they get physical. Sometimes, they are simply verbal. But you can hear the mewing from miles away.
Tonight, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” has the verbal tussle of the season to date, courtesy of Sheree Whitfield and “Housewives” wannabe/plant Marlo Hampton during the start of their 10-day trip to South Africa.
Hampton is edited in the most unflattering way this episode. First of all, trip organizer Phaedra Parks and her posse, Kandi Burruss and Sheree, are annoyed by Hampton just showing up, invited by NeNe Leakes. Team Phaedra also find Marlo overly gabby and obsessed with “etiquette.” Heck, she even annoying tests Phaedra on “etiquette,” then does the “buzzer” sound when she gets it wrong. Classy!
“I doubt Emily Post has a chapter on aggravated assault,” said Sheree, alluding to Marlo’s seven arrests, including one for aggravated assault.
“Blah blah blah! She never stops talking!” Kandi said to the cameras. She even said in Marlo’s ear shot. “This one needs a muzzle!”
NeNe is bemused by all this tension, probably because she caused it by invited Marlo in the first place.
The six women (including Cynthia Bailey) settle into Cape Town in a lovely penthouse for a day before going on safari. Sheree at first jokes that she wants to room with NeNe and Phaedra. Everyone is stunned silent. Then, waiting the proper beat, Sheree said, “Just kidding!” Maybe Sheree should get into stand-up comedy! Even NeNe found that one funny.
Phaedra the next morning gives a hand mirror to each lady as a gift for coming – except Marlo, since Marlo wasn’t invited. Mildly awkward but then it gets worse.
Sheree says a friend of hers in South Africa invited them to a dinner party but she only invited Phaedra and Kandi, not Cynthia or NeNe (or Marlo, for that matter.).
Marlo later that day confronts Kandi for not being friendly enough to her at a mall. “She gave me a phony a** hi and kept walking,” Marlo said. (This isn’t even high school level silliness. This is middle-school level silliness!) “I ain’t like that!” Kandi said, scrunching her face up. Though this argument dies on the vine, Kandi clearly does not like Marlo. That “hi” probably was “phony a**.”)
Then NeNe goes after Phaedra for being cold to her. Phaedra won’t take this type of bait. She denies any reason to be chilly toward NeNe. I can’t recall anything specific about why they never became buddies but they have kind of circled each other warily since Phaedra popped up season three.
Just before Team Phaedra leaves for Sheree’s friend’s party, Cynthia comes by and Sheree surprisingly invites Cynthia to the party – but not NeNe and Marlo. Cynthia goes right back to NeNe and Marlo to tell them exactly what happened. (Yes, this is middle school! Or maybe elementary school?)
NeNe doesn’t care. She didn’t want to go to some Sheree-connected party anyway. But Marlo sees an opening to generate some drama and maybe solidify her shot at getting on the cast!
She runs over to Team Phaedra and confronts Sheree about not getting invited. “I have no idea why Marlo is so pressed about going to the party. Marlo and I are not friends. What’s the problem?” Sheree said later.
Marlo dumps all that etiquette crap and gets down and dirty: “That’s why you don’t have a man. Go hang with the f****ts, you ugly stupid a**.” Oh, yes, Marlo used a nasty gay slur. As Kandi noted, “I don’t know etiquette but I know you’re not supposed to say that!”
The argument escalates into bizarreness. I can’t understand most of what is being said. And the editors don’t even bother captioning most of it. The crux is that Marlo accuses Sheree of being broke and pretending to be rich while Sheree accuses Marlo of sleeping with a rich 80 year old just for the money. They make funny faces and utter noises at each other.
“They’re speaking in tongues or Spanish. It’s becoming gibberish at this point,” Phaedra said.
“Is this how I look in an argument? This looks absolutely stupid,” NeNe said.
Cynthia said if she knew her middle-school actions would cause this, she wouldn’t have said anything. Uh huh.
NeNe even tries to break it up but all we get is a “TO BE CONTINUED.”
Question: did all these ladies pay for this trip out of their own pocket? Or did “Real Housewives” producers “help out.”
In other “Housewives” news:
- Kim Zolciak is the only one who didn’t go to South Africa. She gets a token scene. She’s stuck at home without Kroy (in training camp) but with her son and Sweetie. Her father visits and says how much he likes Kroy and thinks they balance each other out. Kim’s youngest daughter said Kroy told her a ring is coming soon. Kim is annoyed by Sweetie because she’s not helping Kim enough. (Possibly setting up for Sweetie’s departure?)

“Capetown looks very Americanized. I never imagined it would look this way.” - NeNe. Was she imagining it would look like a bunch of shacks?
“I don’t want to share no bathroom. I have to have my own bathroom. I hate sharing a bathroom. Uck!” – Marlo, sounding like a petulant teenager.
“Marlo should be grateful she has a place to lay her head. Maybe she could plan her own trip so she can have exactly what she wants.” – Phaedra
“How about this for etiquette? Shut up!” - Sheree, about Marlo
NEXT WEEK VIA THE TRAILER
We see some scenes of the women on safari. NeNe seems especially antsy. The fall-out from the Marlo/Sheree battle was not clarified. We do see Marlo throwing cash up in the air at a bar. And Phaedra gets teary-eyed hanging with poor South African kids.
RATINGS
Episode 11 last week drew 2.77 million viewers, slightly up from a season low 2.7 million a week earlier. The show, which airs at 9 p.m., is now getting beaten by “Kourtney & Kim Takes New York” on E!, which drew 2.9 million an hour later. It’s also behind the comparable 11th episode a year ago at about 160,000 fewer viewers.

It will be a matter of time before Marlo is locked up again. She cut a woman’s face and has been in jail several times. Marlo has made a complete FOOL of herself. Does she know how stupid she looks? She should have served more time. It is clear that she has no place in society. Just a wild woman with a HORRIBLE weave pretending to be something she’s not. Marlo should be ashamed to show her man face around Atlanta. She looks like a female James Evans from Goodtimes.

Marlo do you, I would luv to see more of you on the show. Make it happen, girl I bet the rating hit roof from the little time you where on. You represent all class of women. Let me sum it up u tell the truth u say what others think which I’ve been told it’s not good,(sure) for the other persons in which effect. The entire show doesn’t depict classy Atlanta housewives;in fact its a disgrace to Atlanta. Sheree needs to get an education to support herself and children. In fact she looks really shabby this year. Cynthia was out of line discussing a robe from Marshall’s; the African attire Cynthia was wearing looked like it came from MAXWAY.

Marlo, have got it going on as far as I am concern. The only problem I see on the RHOA is that wannabe parent Sheree. What kind of mom comes to mind when you see them walking around with a $15, 000 dollar handbag, and son got busted sneakers on? That wannabe mom didn’t even know what sizes shoe her son were wearing at the time. Sheree, went with the ladies on a trip for ten days and children back home sleeping on the floor!
I wish I have had a 80 year old man to help me get on my feet like Marlo, because personally Sheree need to leave the pretty broke girl act a lone and hook up with Marlo’s 80 year old man to provide for her children and her unemployed self!!!!!!!!!!

There is NO WAY for this cast to come back from the first Africa episode. It was uncomfortable to even watch. The lines of whats acceptable on TV are certainly blurred , but watching those women yell and scream and discuss each others money went way beyond whats acceptable. I loves me a good fight, but that was not something I ever want to see again…So sad…..

I’m ashamed to admit that I watched and enjoyed Sunday night’s episode of RHOA. Although, I could not stomach another episode with Kim and Kroy. I would literally throw up if I hear her call Kroy “Love” one more time. It’s also hard to believe that she would be in love that fast. It only takes a split second to make a baby, but it takes a lot longer to love someone in the real world anyway.
Marlo is quite amusing. No, it was not necessary to curse and swear at Sheree, but she along with Kandi had/has it coming. I just need for her to REALLY get on Kandi one time, then maybe she’ll tend to her own business. Plus, how could she say anything about someone lying on their back and about their past? Maybe the group would still be together if she hadn’t been lying on her back with management.
Anyway, I agree with the majority of the other comments regarding the remaining cast members.

Marlo is just what this show needs right about now, another HOT MESS!!! As a huge fan of this franchise, I like the flava that she brings show. Let’s face it, some of the other ladies have gotten boring. So, it’s time for new “diva”….

Marlo represents all types of women and has it going on? I have never been to jail. She is a hot mess that ran game until she “outed” herself on national television. It is one thing to make a fool out of yourself in front of family or friends but the entire US knows that she is a nut case. What goes tweet, tweet? A jail bird.

Wow… The offer to cynthia should have stayed in that room. That was very childish the way she went back to spread more anger between the ladies. Who does that. And then you want to sit back like you didn’t have a hand in this…you were wrong Cynthia. Women of our statue should maintain themselves better than this… And your in S. I just knew this was where the show was going when they bought in Marlo. Bravo what message are you sending by bringing on a woman with a psychotic violent past. Is this the direction you are taking the show. I am just one individual, however I will not watch this type of filth. Lets go to Rikers Island, and pick a couple of thug women, dress them up in stolen designer clothes and call that a “reality TV show”. Bravo…you have to lift this up out of the gutter that it is heading for. The talls against the smalls………I can smell the stink from this show all the way over here.

I hail from the south and yes this is entertaining up until the point when I remember that the world is watching. Then it becomes an embarrassment to me as a black woman who has to work in a world where people expect me to fit the stereotypes. Whether you lay it down for $5 or $5M you are still a hoe Marlo, less than a woman and a lady. You are 40+ when will you ever improve your soul. You get closer to the grave everyday-don’t die a hoe.

Sweetie is NOT a slave!!!!!! You dumb a$$ people. She is getting paid more than most of you to be a professional administrative assistant, housekeeper and childcare provider and she is on television. In fact her salary has increased with Kroy in the picture as evidenced by how nice she looks lately. She probably makes $60,000 to do this and that’s GOOD money in the ATL. 1. Nene Has matured a lot over the seasons…she realizes that she has the most potential star power…If were here I would leave the show after this season she has made her mark

Kim Zoliac is a non stop joke…she really is funny… acting as if she is some kind of celebrity …she has a new baby with half azz grown children and she is complaining about needing a nanny…and sweetie is nothing more than a modern day slave…sigh..I feel the most for Kory and his family becuz now they are associated with such white trash..her new show will never make it
3. Sheree is Sheree she has never deviated from being such a hateful miserable jealous woman..she wanna be rich but cant seem to get into that position..I feel the most sorry for her children becuz when you carry that much poison around with you someone in your life will get infected
4. Phadera is somewhat improving though you can see where she is still carrying a lot of envy in her heart

Why is everyone getting on Nene she was the peace maker in this fight. Out of all the girls she is really making something of her life. She just opened a resturant, she is getting more acting jobs like The Game and Glee, I proud of her. To the one who said we need another Kim ARE YOU CRAZY, Yes Kim has changed for the better since Kroy, but she wants to insult Marlo about having a sugar daddy when Kim had a big poppa that was married to quote Kim herself Who does that” Just because you are married and life is better doesnt change what you did so dont throw rocks when you live in a glass house. As for Marlo yes what she did was unclassy, however every word she said about Sheree was true. Why does she have a Porsche and a Range Rover yet staying in an apartment with blow up mattresses. She carries 10,000 bags yet cant pay her lawyer fees. And please dont tell me shes getting her house built because last time I checked it was still a pile of dirt. I am here to answer your questions about the RHOA cast members.
Yes, NeNe was born a man.
Yes, Marlo was born a man too. NeNe and Marlo were born brothers Leon Nathaniel and Marlon.
In creating Cynthia, I made an error with her brain.
In creating Kandi, there was a problem with her jaw joint that causes a permanent smile and occasional eye bulging.
Bacon grease spilled in my Phaedra batter, hence the greasy lips.
Peter really is Papa Smurf incarnate. If I’d let him only grow to 2 apples high, someone would have noticed.
Oh, and even I don’t know whether Kim has hair under those wigs. She likes wigs so much because she was a horse before reincarnation.

Here is my opinion of that show. I can’t stand Nene Leakes as anymore. First off she should have told them that she was inviting Marlo or she shouldn’t have went. Second Marlo was determined to get some drama started on that trip and since none of them took the bait she started it herself. I was cracking up and Marlo and Sheree making those silly ass faces and those weird noises LOL WTF what that? But Seriously, Sheree didn’t do anything wrong and I probably would have done the same thing. We saw how Nene acts when she is invited to a friends home when Kim allowed her to be a guest at her friends home during their dispute. Second why would she invite Nene friends Marlo the whole point of Marlo being there is because Nene knew she wouldn’t have anyone to hang with and Marlo wouldn’t have went anyway because she was there for Nene. The only reason why she invited Cynthia ass sniffing behind is because she invited her to the club. I can’t stand Cynthia, if Nene don’t agree it ain’t right. Even after Nene showed them the friend contract and made her look crazy she still kissing that ass. Kandi and Phedra are my favorite housewives on this show just wish they would speak a tad bit more

Kandi? She is a snob in public and claims to be a superstar. Work out tapes? That’s real superstar staus if I ever saw it. Laughing at NeNe cause she said she’s rich? You people must only watch one channel ! Phaedra was on an episode of Meddical ER with a name of Keisha and a very ill baby. They are all actresses and poor ones at that! That includes all those other Housewives. I only wish “I could quit” them !
