The comment that X-Factor has been a “souless” type of show is interesting. The sad part of the production is that there were so many bad choices made in terms of putting real talent into the live shows.

A composite of 13 – 14- 15 year-old kids,
groups thrown together that were not good individual singers to begin with,
a 60 year-old good singer that was set-up to fail,
pushing side-story items and Judge fights in Jerry Springer fashion,
using a host that was one of the worst imaginable choices for the job.

While Josh Krajic and Melanie Amaro do have vocal talent, overall, the show has been far, far below
expectations and as mentioned, the stage special effects are bizzare and way over the top most of the time.

They had the payroll, prime-time slots and auditioned base of talent to make a spectacular talent show – - – and gave us a lump of coal for Christmas.

unlike with AI, I’ve gotten to the point with especially LA and NS that i mute or fast forward through ALL comments. I don’t CARE what whiney comments those two have to make. Paula’s about as effective as ever…not much… I think Simon’s been a bit better actually on X factor than he was at least at the end of his stint on AI. Overproduced, overmiked backup singers and musicians, undermiked performer contestants… overall, the show just sux!

Personally I enjoyed the audition phase of XFactor but I do agree with the over-production comments and the judges bickering bringing the show down. If Steve Jones were given one ounce of personality then that’s what he’d have… 1 ounce. He makes Al Gore seem interesting!!!

I do think Paula has been a good judge, better than she ever was on Idol. I also think the talent was better than what Idol had last year. At least in the case of XFactor the best two Melanie & Josh made it to the finals. I still can’t believe Scotty won it. Yuck!

XFactor needs to bring in a female host, one with personality and warmth. LA and Nicole need to be replaced. I would suggest Clive Davis and someone like a Billy Joel. No not Elton John. Maybe a Stevie Wonder. Someone who write lyrics and understands music.

X Factor has been more about the judges than the contestants. They lost me after the first 2 shows. The Voice is becoming similar in many ways and will probably lose me this season. Won’t be watching my favorite of all, AGT, since Howard Stern will be one of the judges, so looks like I am left with my old standby, American Idol. Hurry up and get here AI, you still have that certain appeal.

AI should have a great field of talent to choose from – there are a good number of sign-ins to the first stages that have “been around”, on Facebook, former work in the biz, etc.

Just hope they actually go for talent rather than the back-stories and don’t throw a bunch of ringers into the top 12, like they did with Stefano Langone and some others that never should have been cast in the first place.

Seriously???

Patootie….you hypocrite. You won’t watch AGT with Howard Stern, but you watched it with Sharon Osborn and Howie Mandel?? Get a life! That is the most illogical thing I’ve ever read here!

Have fun with the karaoke show.
