Elle Duncan is out at V-103

Loading ...Two sources affiliated with V-103 have told me that Elle Duncan’s contract was not renewed and as of last week, she is no longer employed at the R&B/hip-hop station.
She has been wiped off the V-103 website. And on her personal Facebook page, she has placed her employment at the station in the past tense.
I am awaiting word on whether she will be replaced or not as a sidekick to Ryan Cameron, who is now on vacation.
Duncan’s history at the station has been a bit checkered.
She started at age 20 with the 2 Live Stews, then joined Cameron in 2004 as a sidekick. In early 2009, she took over for Porsche Foxx as mid-day jock. Eighteen months later, she grabbed Miss Sophia’s slot in mornings and became a sports/entertainment person with Frank & Wanda.
That arrangement lasted only about nine months. She was moved back to Cameron’s show in late March of 2011, spelling Rashan Ali.
(Foxx, Miss Sophia and Ali are no longer in radio to my knowledge.)
The craziest moment for Duncan happened when she got into a row with then afternoon producer Nina Brown over some sweet potato pie. Brown left the live button on and listeners heard Duncan cursing at her. Duncan was suspended but returned on air. Brown left V-103 and ended up working at 11 Alive.
Duncan is also a sideline reporter for the Hawks.
I left messages with Duncan via text and Facebook seeking comment. I’ll update this if I get anything. I also emailed her boss Rick Caffey for any comment though in these situations, he typically does not.
Cameron’s contract is up early next year, but he is a well established name in the community, arguably one of the most popular radio personalities in Atlanta. Given the stagnancy of radio market revenues, even at a station as big as V-103, how his stature (and high ratings) will impact negotiations is a big question.
For now, Crash Clark, who worked with Cameron in the 1990s, has taken a greater role on Cameron’s show as both traffic guy and a sidekick.

Elle seems to be a nice young lady in a tuff industry. She just hasnt improved on the air in the
years she has been there. Is it possible that they can block out wandas face on the frank and
wanda tv show. She is sometimes funny but woefully painful to look at. Good luck elle.

While I hate to hear of anyone losing their job at this time of year, especially in this economic climate, if we are all honest, Elle added nothing of substance to any of the time slots that she was placed in. While pretty, her voice leaves much to be desired in radio.
Ryan Cameron is fully capable of handling his show alone, and FINALLY (if this is true), I will be able to tune in to his show. I simply couldn’t take Elle’s voice and childish antics.

I agree with ALL who thinks Wanda #SHOULDGO!! Her improper use of the English Language is just down right embarrassing!! “He do” should be ” HE DOES, and she NEVER places “s’s” on her plural verbs. WTF?? And she gets to speak like this to MILLIONS? I have called the station on several occasions, and even spoke to Reggie Ross, to express my disgust in hearing Wanda butcher the English Language. But in Wanda’s voice, ” Him don’t care”! They often remind us that CBS is “white owned”, so that’s how THEY want Black Women portrayed. Smh

Well to be honest, I moved to atlanta from NC in 1998. I began listining to V103. I was not impressed with the show. Wanda for starters voice annoys me. Its ugly. and has no place on any radio. But I tried to listen a little longer. (I found it extremely URBAN and tacky and stereotypical). But what really sank V103 ship was the folks later that joined the show. Mis Sophia REALLY got on my nerves with that Brrrrrr. Drag queen or whatever but she was just absolutely Horrendous and finally I quit listening to the show because of Ms Sophia and Wanda’s voices. the combination of both Killed my ears so I quit listening to the show half way through Sophia’a stint. I dont know when she left as I had long stop listening. This other female, when I did tune again for a day or so. Did Nothing so no lost there as I been quit the show. I havent listened to V103 in years. Would much rather listen to oldies stations. Besides V103 talked a lot and said absolutely Nothing of worth. A total waste of electric.

Wanda Smith make me so ashamed. I have stop listening to V-103 for two reasons, one being Wanda Smith and the second being the hog-wash they call music in the morning time. What professional office listens to that? It is so embarrassing when your boss or visitors walk into your office and they hear the ingnorant, stupid garbage that come out of Wandas mouth. We will miss Elle. She was TWICE as much of a woman than Wanda, at half Wandas age.

I feel bad for her to losing a job around this time of year. However, she just didn’t make an impression on the show. Not good/not bad.
As for Frank and Wanda, well they do make an impression….a BAD ONE. Frank is a self righteous name name dropper while Wanda is an embarrassment to black people. How they still have a show is well beyond me….

We were recently going out of town and V-103 was the only station that we could clearly get on the radio. We tried to listen to Frank and Wanda, but I couldn’t stomach them and just turn off the radio completely.

Can you say, “Just Mess”. As an African-American, I cringe whenever my radio makes the mistake of landing on V-103. The music is awful and they are just toooooo old not to play age appropriate music. The music they are playing is not even for the eigth graders that I teach. As an educator to hear her say, “I know some teachers pick on students”, just makes me laugh. She was the one who really felt her son would be a NFL player? While at UGA he refused to put away his cell phone during an exam and that was the last I read about his professional career. She should look at herself and wonder why she acts the way she does, the voice, the nonesense she talks about, that laugh, and all of that weave is awful. She makes me sad to say I am a black woman. The are just honestly the pits. I listen to B98.5, Q100, as well as 102.5. This music segregation is totally killing us as a race of people.

Sorry to hear that Elle may be gone, she was just on air last week talking about trying to sell her property. Trust Ryan Cameron has taught her well!!! I love Crash Clark and pray that he will become Ryan’ side kick. Not sure how he would handle the audience in Ryan’ absence but I LOVE him.

Good job v-103. Now get rid of Frank Ski next. Bet his restaurant, kids foundation, and dj’ing at the club would fail immediately without his ability to freely advertise and constantly brag and big up himself on the radio. I can’t stand listening to him talk about what he has, where he’s been, what and who he knows all the time so I stopped listening to v-103. Love Ryan and Greg Street, so keep them both.

I wish Elle Duncan well. I liked her on the show, especially with Ryan. I though they were funny.
As far as Frank Ski and Wanda, they need to go. I am so tired of Frank Ski’s know-it-all attitude, and Wanda’s incorrect grammar. She gets on my nerves. And I can’t stand when they have forums on things like teen violence, teen sex, and then they turn around and play the type of music that they do. And then Frank Ski has the nerve to have the spiritual vitamin at the end of each show.

Wanda has more of a following for being herself and relating to more people than you will ever know. Reggie knows her worth to station. Frank & Wanda in the Morning are the ABSOLUTE best!!!!! Thank you for saving their jobs. I wish Elle the best; ovbiously she’s talented (in some areas and with some radio stations), fortunately she/they couldn’t find her niche at V-103. Veryly clearly Frank & Wanda didn’t need her assistance……and dud….neither does Ryan Cameron – these guys are veterans and can hold their own – change is not always a good thing. I stopped listening to Frank and Wanda because of Wanda. Her voice is definitely not a radio voice. Her laugh sounds more like a witch’s cackle than a woman’s laugh. She’s not articulate, and she’s NOT funny. She obviously has an airtight contract.

I stopped listening to V-103 morning show when they canceled Ms. Sophia. I could tolerate her more than Wanda a wanna be that looks down on her listeners! Frank can’t tolerate him wanting to discuss everyone else business that’s not a part of his so called circle of friends (Puffy,Usher). He carries his behind on his shoulders! Hate the morning show. Ryan should stay where he is. He talks too much. It’s turning to a morning show on PM drive. It’s the most impt. daypart and he’s the best one there to keep their numbers in afternoon. I will say some of the subversive “sex” references could be cut. He can win doing the show w/out a co-host and stay on track easier. The morning show is not great for many reasons (some listed above). They don’t fit the music. I think a crew could be put together that would be more relevant and cheaper. It’s already “more commercials and talk w/ a song every now and then- TUNE OUT!

@ derrick…I hate to say it, but you are right.
“Know it ALL Frank” and “the grammar butcher” are NOT going anywhere. People can relate to Wanda and most of what she’s talking about. The way she speaks is acceptable to the community because that is reallly who listens on a large scale and can tolerate the lack of articulation and the butchering of the English language so ebonics is a welcome language to them.
I don’t know what to say about Frank….he has worn his welcome out with the Northern Exposure, the screaming “look at me, what and I know and who I know”…. Who gives a flip.
Atlanta radio could definitely use a boost. Don’t know how to fix it but don’t bring that dead ass Mike Roberts back whatever you do!

Elle got on my every nerve…. now all we need is for them to get rid of Frank and Wanda… move Ryan to the morning slot PERMINANTLY… and add some fresh, young voices to the show… however, radio execs… young does not me classless… hood… or ignorant like the Dirty Boys or whatever their name on Hot…
