How ridiculous was the stripper?

Good ol’ Phaedra Parks helped instigate the Peter/Apollo fight last week.

Tonight, she again initiated another verbal altercation, this one between Kandi Burruss and Kandi’s opinionated mom Joyce.

Why? As Phaedra noted last season, she loves the strippers. As an attorney, she even represents one (named Ridickulous) who is so big, well, he has talents that most men are incapable of. And he demonstrated this said talent at Kandi’s 35th birthday party on the rooftop of the Renaissance Hotel in Midtown.

Kandi was cool with it. And Phaedra was in heaven.

“You won’t be able to find that in your local retailer,” Phaedra drawled.

Noting that Phaedra is his attorney, Kandi cracked, “Given how big that is, he probably gets sued for damages.” (Rimshot alert!)

Kandi’s mom Joyce walked away disgusted. “I don’t like no damn strippers!” she yelped.

NeNe, despite her own stripper past, acted all grossed out. by Ridickulous.  “It’s disgusting,” she said, especially since people were wearing Gucci and Versace. (huh?)

“Me and Phaedra and Sheree were laughing,” Kandi explained later. “I wasn’t thinking about everybody else.” Especially her mom, who left early, cursing up a  storm.

“It’s my 35th birthday,” said Kandi, chagrined, “And I feel like five.”

By the way, Kandi invited everyone to this party – except Kim, who is eight months pregnant. So the separation between Kim and NeNe continues. Sheree and Phaedra keep their distance from NeNe. Kandi said she hates being in the middle – but she invited them all there. (It’s a TV show. Everyone goes with it.)

“It’s like the Crips and the Bloods,” Phaedra notes. But no bloodshed happens. Just a big chill.

[During "Watch What Happens Live," Andy Cohen showed video evidence that Joyce has certainly seen strippers before but it's clear she was upset by the venue and setting as well as this particular stripper's behavior.]

What happened to the other housewives?

- Cynthia Bailey brought her sister Malorie to see her husband Peter at his new bar Bar One, which was about to open. Since Malorie and Cynthia’s mom were so worried about Cynthia’s mental state last season before her wedding, they pondered hiding the marriage certificate. Peter found out later, probably when the episode aired. He was peeved. He thought he was cool with Malorie until then and was hurt. Malorie tried to explain to him that she protecting her sister. He didn’t really buy it. “It wasn’t your day!” he said. In frustration, he got up and left, saying it was okay, even though it wasn’t. Malorie started crying.

Later, Malorie and Cynthia got into an argument because Malorie disapproved of Cynthia even pondering helping Peter out financially with his bar. (His last one belly flopped.) Cynthia got defensive and called out Malorie on her marriage issues. They then tried  to cool down but it’s obvious the issue will rear its ugly head again in the future.

- Kim Zolciak got very little airtime this week. She opened the episode meeting with Phaedra, who carried a peace offering gift basket for what happened at the baby shower with her husband and Peter. Kim appreciated it, noting that Cynthia didn’t call her to apologize. She also met with a baby consultant (despite the fact she’s had two kids already) since her third will be a boy. They queasily talked circumcision.

- Sheree Whitfield saw no progress on her new home and brought Phaedra to be her lawyer. They verbally roughed up the contractor in hopes that they don’t have to go to court down the road.

- NeNe revealed to Cynthia that she had sex with Gregg after she got back from Miami though they are still technically separated. “Greg likes it down,” NeNe said. “He can be a tiger!”

NOTABLE QUOTES (there were plenty this week!)

“Note to self: keep the ex cons and ***holes off the guest list next time.” - Kim Zolciak, about any future parties, after the Peter/Apollo dust up last week.

“I don’t know how old Peter is. 65? 75? He’s entirely too old to be yelling at a ***king baby shower.” - Kim, in classy verbal mode again.

I was on morphine. I was on epidural. I was crazy as a vampire in sunlight!” - Phaedra, on having her baby.

“I’m turning 35 this year. I’m feeling like I’m not married. I want to have another child. It’s kind of depressing. But it is like a milestone so it’s time to party.” - Kandi, rationalizing a party when it was probably the producers’ idea.

I think Kandi wanted a friendship and Kim wanted a hit song.” - NeNe, pondering why Kandi and Kim have grown apart since “Tardy for a Party” became a huge hit.

“When you are as low down as Sheree, hitting below the belt, trying to dig up your past, you don’t deserve the friendship of NeNe Leakes.”NeNe Leakes, placing herself in third person like Prince or Shaq.

“I don’t want him growing up with his peepee wearing a turtleneck.” - Kim, on getting her baby circumcised.

“Cynthia needs to set boundaries” between her husband and her family.” - NeNe.

“For a black man, it’s better to see you going than coming. Having a nice donkey booty is like having a carrot and dangling it in front of a horse.” - Phaedra, who teased and threatened a contractor, often at the same time.

“I never leave home without a taser. They’d be glad I left the .357 in the car!” - Phaedra, on her self-defense methods. Watch out Mr. Contractor!

Lawrence looks like Mr. T dipped in Wonder Woman. Super hero of the South!” - Phaedra, after seeing Lawrence at the 35th birthday party.

“I just enter and my presence takes over the room.” NeNe, modest as always.

TEASER FOR NEXT WEEK

Peter loses $40,000 from an investor for his new bar. Cynthia is thinking about chipping in herself but is not happy about it. We see ex-hubby Bob Whitfield for the first time as Sheree tries to wrangle child support from him. And “Housewives” wannabe  Marlo Hampton makes her debut. The rumore: she was dating an NFL player Charles Grant that NeNe also had dated.

RATINGS

Last week, ratings were up to 3.2 million from 3 million the week before. The first three episodes were up 700,000 viewers over a year ago, averaging 3 million. UPDATE: The fourth episode cited here drew 3.03 million compared to 2.49 million for the fourth episode season three.

I read online that the ATL Housewives make 150K per episode so I really can’t blame them for upping the ante on each episode.

I thought the stripper sucking his own wank was way too much for this show especially when Bravo showed him swinging it around like a spinning top and I can understand why Kandi’s mom was upset but I have to admit I was crying laughing when she was going off

Kandi’s late fiance was the owner of a strip club in Atlanta. He actually died in the parking lot of that establishment, so she has no problems with that kind of business. We all know what goes on in strip clubs and it’s not just exotic dancing folks. If Kandi is sincerely looking for a good decent man to marry and become the father of her children, then she had bettter clean up her act because what man is going bring her home to meet his mama after seeing this hot mess?

I think the stripper was a bit much for TV and my child was still up at that time. I had to cover her eyes….this show is getting to be unpredictable. Phaedra could have saved that stripper for an more personal setting. Nene off the chain and she once was a stripper. I wonder did anyone “leave their eyes in their purse/wallet” when she was stripping? Mama Joyce took it too far at the party….I mean really? Kandi talked about sex, sex toys and everything else a few times with her mother on the show. Most times daughters would be scared to discuss topics as such but Kandi always does it. Did anyone see how Malorie husband was looking when she was asking about Cynthia’s money and Bar One??? LOL

All I can say is that was the funniest hour of my life last night! Kandi should have kept mama’s tail at home; Nene kills me because she really believes that she is high class (trick please!); Phaedra is funny as all get out to me (loving her this season); Cynthia and ashy lips Peter are so boring (can I replace her?)….again, that was the best 60 minutes of my life last night! Pure comedy on a ghetto fab level!

Okay, last night was too much for me; the stripper showed too much. Really????? They knew it would be shown. Too trashy and not classy. This show should be an embarrassment to the girls. I am with Kandi’s Mom on this one.

Very distastful display of male self-satisfaction especially since this was a birthday party with Khandi’s mom in attendance! Exoctic dancing is a far cry from trashy exploitation and Phaedra should have been more selective.

For everybody FREAKING OUT over the stripper at the party need to calm down. This “birthday party” for Khandi was set up for the show by BRAVO, these people all knew what was going to go down even Khandi’s Mama…be angry at BRAVO for allowing that junk (pun intended) to air.
Khandi’s real b-day celebration was on another day, sans all the housewives EXCEPT Phaedra at another restaurant.

I agree with everyone saying NeNe needs to sit the eF down and shut the eF up…girl use to throw her kooka in everybody’s face of dollar bills…this shouldn’t have offended her..
She did give us a morsel of the loveable NeNe with that line about “pulling her eyes out, putting them in her purse and driving home blind” that was the NeNe we all fell in love with….this new beast has become so unnecessary to the show and brings nothing but bitterness.

Phaedra is the new star.

@Sunshine. Wherever you read that, there is zero chance the housewives make $150K per episode. Perhaps the six divvy up $150K per episode but not EACH. I know they were making $10K per ep for season two so I would fathom they are making $20 to $25K now (just a guess). With 18 episodes this year, plus two reunion shows, they could each be pocketing $400K plus. That’s good money though not enough to be in the top 1%.

“Open”? Really, Kandi? Nasty and disgusting are more like it. If you and Phaedra want to exude a wee bit of “class”, keep the TRASH at home.

And to those of you exalting that Kandi is a grown *** woman, it’s amazing how that phrase only comes up when someone is engaged in off-putting behavior. I have YET to hear someone say that while they are feeding the hungry and clothing the homeless…

And to Cynthia’s sister: Anyone with two brain cells know what’s up with Papa Smurf. You are right on the money, honey. Back off, however, and let Cynthia do her thing or else she may end up sticking with Peter just because she wants to prove you (and the entire world) wrong.

Kandi’s age is right … She’s just a bit older than me, as I was a teenager when Xscape first hit it big and I’m 32 now. It just seems like she should be older because she has been around so long and done so much. People forget that those girls in Xscape were still in high school when they started out. They were very young.

I agree, that this was not the setting for a stripper. For the simple fact that there were men there, I mean what man actually wants to see another male stripper give his own self head?? I was rather disgusted, and it seems Peter really enjoyed it too.

I’m glad to see so many in Atlanta call this what it was ..disgusting lewd porn very inappropriate for viewing in this context.

I think Phaedra comes off as the biggest phony here. She is supposely Christian with her mother some kind of ministerr and here she is promoting and catering to lust and real degradation.
As to NeNe I think in her comments re the designers she was trying to say that she thought these people had class because of their money, status and clothes but underneath they are just trash and not elevated at all!

I couldn’t believe last night’s show!! I’m not a prude by any means but it still shocked me. Especially when it was mentioned that he dipped his “thing” in a girl’s drink!!! How gross is that??? And who on earth wants to watch him suck himself?? Major yuk. I can’t stand NeNe’s high opinion of herself but I really do think mostly it’s just a low self-esteem act of defensiveness. Love Kim and Kroy together. They seem like the only normal ones on the show at this time. I have high hopes for Kandi but none at all for Cynthia and Peter. He’s sneaky and manipulating and that just turns me cold.

Scripted or not…

There are just things money cannot buy …dignity; integrity; love; class; common sense and salvation are just a few!

It is unfathomable that the name King (as in Martin and Coretta) or any aspect remotely associated with their contributions and struggle to society was, is, and could ever be mentioned (or should I say dropped) on or within earshot of that show.

Entertainment is one thing, but some things are over the top. The show could be more riveting if they explored “real reality issues”! Well, some of us now know what the “old folks” meant when they said that “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop”.

Our poor children are in trouble and believe me race and status have nothing to do with it! Oh by the way, I believe one of the “wives” is on the board of a children’s shelter. (Hmmm, imagine that.)

Phakedra is fast becoming my favorite on the show. She’s over the top, trouble making, crap starting and lies like a rug but I watch to see what she’s gonna do or say!

Someone above asked why Sheree is jealous of NeNe. I’ll tell you why – because last season she was a NMFF and she just might get the Deshawn/Lisa bumrush so she has to up her game, seeing as how her Sheit by Sheree and “acting” careers have gone nowhere. What’s even funnier about her is she took Phakedra to this house builder building this “chalet” (lol) to scare him and Phakedra ended up stealing the show with the donkey booty thing. I loved it!

Yes the stripper was not appropriate because one, it was outdoors, two it was a mixed party with men and women and three, a man schtupping his own sausage is not something really worth seeing. Putting it in Khandi’s drink was just as disgusting…you don’t know where that anaconda’s been…

I don’t understand people who criticize the show but yet watch it every week. It’s your thing but stop pretending you don’t like it.

Great synopsis, Rodney!

@darb “If you dont believe there is a black crime epidemic in Atlanta, just watch the first 15 min or tonight news on channel 2, and let me know who commits the most crimes, whites, blacks or hispanics?”

What the hell does this have to do with RHOA? Just as RHOA is scripted so is the evening news. Crime sells…especially scaring the masses to believe the black boogie man is out there waiting to strike. We all know no other race commits crimes….(heavy sigh)…

I was very disppointed in the show simply becuse it seem to me this show has gone to another level and I will not be watching it anymore if it continues to have episodes such as last night.I dont blame Kandi’s mother for getting upset tht was totaly disqusting and shoul have never been do ne on TV,. phadra new Kandi ’s mother would be there ,how disrespectful. If woud had been better if they would have had a private show awat from the camera.. all viewers are not into that freaky stuff. And there may have been some children still up , After all we waere still in primetime. It seems noone cares about what is shown on TV anymore and peoples self respect has gone down the tubes. Its time we start taking thinking about what we put on TV..It is enough things going on in this world without this distasteful stuff. I didn’t see the initial showing of this program on Sunday night, but I saw a repeat of it last evening (Monday) and I was very, very surprised. I can’t believe Phaedra would have a stripper at Kandi’s birthday party where men were also invited. It would have been okay, maybe, if it were just all women (not to include Kandi’s mom), but it went over the top with the men AND KANDI’S MOTHER present. First of all, the guy looked horrible. I believe Nene or someone called him a “monster;” secondly, the things he did were disgusting and having him there was totally disrespectful of Kandi’s mom. I’m sure Phaedra would not have appreciated this at her birthday party had someone invited this guy and he did what he did in front of her “minister” mom. The show should be yanked or Phaedra should be yanked from the show with this type of behavior. I thought Phaedra had more class than this, especially being a professional lawyer, but I see she does not. Additionally, she is married and she was parading her “behind” in front of Sheree’s contractor. Some things women should keep behind closed doors for their partner only. I used to like Phaedra, but find she is disgusting. If this is the type of drama she has to bring to this show to keep from getting kicked off by not being boring, she does not need to be on. …And the exes at Bravo need to clean this show up a bit. I understand drama bringing more viewers, more advertisers; thus, more money, but this one episode was horrible to say the least. I see why Kim is trying to get her own show, hanging with some of these people can make her look bad. Seems like she may be trying to clean up her act a bit. Thank goodness someone is trying to. …And Sheree just can’t hide her envy of NeNe – it’s written all over her face. It’s crazy. Don’t hate Sheree, you can still make it, just keep promoting and working with your clothing line “She by Sheree.” …Add some shoes and other accessories to the mix, but please stop hating on others, particularly NeNe!

Nene Leakes is a definite wanna be. People who have money and wear designer clothes do not go around talking about it. It usually speaks for itself or not. Nene’s presence take over the room because she’s so big. Nene is the one who is jealous of Kim ,Sheree, and Phadra. Look at Nene and look at them they are the better looking. What Nene can’t bully she leave alone. Why didn’t she get in Sheree’s face like she did Kim’s, LaToya, and Starr’s. Nene is the biggest embarrasement on the show.
There should be a line drawn no matter how much a mother and daughter get along or hang out. This was a 35 year old woman’s birthday party and Phaedra gave her friend Kandi a gift she thought she would like. Now anyone who was there who was offended good for you. When a stripper is involved at any party you never know what is going to happen. You should have gotten up and left as soon as he started dancing. Nene you probably saw more than that being a stripper yourself. Be true to yourself people. Personally when I am at a party and a stripper come forth some of the other women and I remove ourselves from the room before they start because I do not like stripping performances. Because you women do have children you should try to show more positive attitudes and educational presentations. Having a glass of wine everytime all hours of the day Nene is not something I would want my children to see. You wonder why your oldest son is not working? Take heed to all of the profanity you women use and how you portray yourselves because no matter how much you make from the show it can come back and bite you one day.

I think the performance was over the top. I cannot believe they aired the actual performance on the show. It was apparant by the reactions that some people knoew about the stripper and others did not. Who would expect at a nice birthday party, at the top of a hotel that a stripper is going to show up and suck his own stuff. I think it was inappropriate. However, I think that is what the producers was aiming for. They wanted true reactions from the guests. Some watched, some were disgusted. I still can’t believed they aired that on TV!!!

It is funny how Phaedra can get a stripper for Kandi’s party with her mom being present but did not have the balls to tell her mom about her being knocked up out of wedlock. It seems that Channel 2 along with all news outlets have been successful in convincing non thinkers into believing what they want to believe which is why those that fall for the deception will be the first to act surprised when “Bill” is accused of something because in their mind there is only one shade of man that can be the “boogie man” but for me the “boogie man”has a different shade…

This was the most tacky, classless, tasteless thing on TV. I hope America does not think that ALL black America behaves this way. I don’t live in ATL, but from this show…it’s a ranchid mess!!! You would think all these people have on their minds are sex and money. And then I watch the Beverly Hills wives the next night and they’re having a fashion show to help needy kids. This show is an embarrassment. Please leave ATL Bravo…and keep the gay men down there too…from the ones wearing heels to the ones pleasuring themselves with their own mouth!!!

And Phaedra with all her education…she doesn’t have anything else to discuss but big butts?!?! SO WHAT!! We see big butts everyday in the black community. Get over it and use that intelligence you claim to have in your conversation. SMDH!!!

That was in extremely poor taste, and I think it was disrepectful for Kandi’s mother, and especially since there were men there as well. No man, unless he is gay is interested in looking at another man’s d—. Phaedra tries to portray herself as a southern bell, but she is as low class as they come. As an corporate attorney, I like to get wild with the best of them, but this was not the time nor place for this stripper. A bachelorette party with all women is fine, but this was in very poor taste. I am from New York, NY, which is a northern state, and found it to be extremely classless.
