Check out ‘Idol’-related AMA performances: Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry

No “Idol” alums won an American Music Award but Daughtry, Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson performed while Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson presented. (Judge Lopez did win a Best Latin Artist award.)

Also, “The Voice” judges Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera performed “Moves Like Jagger.”

Here is Clarkson in a big spangly red dress doing a big-band version of “Mr. Know It All.” The song is still gaining spins on the top 40 charts but is jammed in the teens, currently at No. 14 on the Mediabase 24/7 chart. (On Hot AC, it’s at No. 3). Clarkson will be at the Fabulous Fox Theatre Feb. 23.

Daughtry was the only rock band on the show (unless you count Maroon 5 as “rock”). They performed “Crawling Back To You.” The song edged into the top 10 this week on the Hot AC chart. He’ll be headlining the Star 94 Jingle Jam Dec. 13 at Gwinnett Arena:

I know it’s childish, but – first!

After all these years I still don’t see the point of it.

Good to see all the Idol folks keeping busy. I doubt that X-Factor will have anyone performing at the AMA’s 5 years down the road.

The point of the AMAs? Another excuse for an awards show! Check out Astro trying to apologize for his actions:

It’s not childish Mercedes S….it’s fun being first.

The overall show was good. JLo made mistakes and sometimes sounded horrible.

Hasselhoff coming out baring his legs was hysterical.

Well, I don’t get the point of that too ;)

Astro, I didn’t like him from Hollywood week on. It is nice that someone crafted a nice apology for him, but it doesn’t change my attitude towards him. He showcases all that is wrong with most of the contestants on X-Factor. They just don’t belong.

Hi y’all.

Well, I’m sure y’all know I watched…and I somewhat enjoyed the arrangement on Mr Know It All. On the positive, I did enjoy the Jessica Rabbit outfit. And also, Kelly will be on XFactor this Wednesday, I guess I’ll be watching the results show after all.

PS. Pitchy. Hasselhoff and pelvic thrusts…not two things that should go together for me.

Ewwww was my reaction to the Hasselhoff thing. Will he never get over himself and realize how repulsive such behavior is? Gross!

@k&c/Harriett – I agree, the pelvic thrust was an EWWWWWW moment, but I laughed anyway because when I realized it was The Hoff, I wondered WTH he was doing in the middle of all those people.

@JTesla – you saw an apology from Astro’s team??? Where??? That snot-nosed, co*cky, arrogant little twit of a teenybopper needs to apologize to his mother. Ok, that was mean of me, but I’m going to post it anyway.

Thanks, JTesla. I read it and he still has a lot to learn. He speaks and acts as if he’s already paid his just dues to the entertainment world. He has to remember, the biggest of them can fall and at 14 he’s not too far from the bottom.

I was originally scheduled to be off all week. Had I not been sick Friday, I wouldn’t have come in today.

So I hope everyone has a wonderful & meaningful Thanksgiving. And I’ll “see” you all again on Monday

Re: Astro. I’d say that he’s just a punk, but at his age it just comes across as a bad joke.

Back on the east coast. Sorry JT, there just isn’t enough time for a drive up to Portland! ;-)

I’ll be hanging around here tomorrow for the show.

Morning!

Without Stacy on the show tonight, it should be almost worth watching. Now if we could just get rid of the judges and the anti-Seacrest……hmmmm, I guess we’d just end up with Glitzie Idol.

Don’t know if y’all have talked about this but below, find a new promo fro Katharine McPhee’s show “Smash”. It looks really good to me but will have some stiff competition. It will be on opposite The Voice”.

That show will fail…also I saw all who won the AMAs and that award show is a joke..whenever maroon 5 performs and wins an award then that award show is a joke…just call it pop awards and keep it moving..

Whelp, now that Stacy is gone after being “blog enemy #1″. I guess Astro is next in line to wear the “8ball”. Probably Marcus after him, then Chris. Let’s just say I notice trends.

Sing-off was tough last night. The judges forced a “sing-off” between Afro Blue and Dartmouth Aires. They went with the Aires and Shawn was not happy. I don’t blame him. AB was a better group overall and recordable, but the Aires were more traditional, with a lead singer that sings off the charts. Because of that, Afro Blue fans will probably go for Urban Method or Panatronix. I’m thinking Afro Blue will land a deal through Shawn’s contacts. They are really that good, kind of like Committed (they won last year).

Overall, the Sing Off had the best top 4 contestants out of any singing show this year (yes, this includes American Idol). All I can say is the competition was ferocious, and it was difficult deciding the absolute best out of 4. Voting polls for the Sing-off open next week.

Sorry, voting polls for the Sing Off opened last night. How could I forget. Results are next week.

G, you must have missed the trend with Lakota… Team Eye-Candy, whatever they are called. They were “blog enemy” before Stacy, and still are as far as I can tell.

G…if the “trend” you’re noticing refers to talentless and/or obnoxious contestants, then, yep, there’s a trend. Stacy’s performance last wek was so terribly off-key that I had to lower the volume on my tv, then she added something that can only be referred to as “caterwauling” to top off the worst performance of the night.

I acknowledge that the little rapper boy is talented but his enormous ego has turned people off…people who vote.

Marcus would be so much better without LA “mentoring” him. The performances that LA has put together for Marcus are frenetic and based on 90’s pop. Marcus can sing…let him sing!

I might add that Chris was a lot better without LA’s help as well.
