Chaz Bono, the most controversial celebrity on this season’s cast of “Dancing With the Stars,” took his last dance Tuesday night after getting the lowest scores among the seven remaining contestants.
Bono, a transgender man who was born Chastity, lasted six weeks, far longer than many people expected. His tango to “The Phantom of the Opera” gave him the lowest score this past week with a 19. This was the third time he had the lowest judges score but the first time his fans couldn’t lift him from the basement.
“This was an amazing journey,” he said after he was eliminated, “that really pushed me and showed me I could do more than I ever thought I could.” He later dedicated his effort to kids who feel like they are in the wrong body like him. “I wanted to show America a different kind of man,” he added.
The overweight Bono looked clunky on the dance floor, though he did show increasing confidence as the weeks went by. He never received more than a 7 from any judge.
Bono’s departure leaves six celebrities left, including Hope Solo, whose partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy defended her aggressively Monday night after Len Goodman said he thought her dance was her worst to date.
It’s fairly obvious that J.R. Martinez and Ricki Lake will cruise into the finals. The third person will likely be David Arquette.
Atlanta’s Nancy Grace received her best score to date with a 24, dancing a jaunty foxtrot to a “Spamalot” song. Carrie Ann Inaba was especially taken by her performance, giving her a generous 9 while Goodman opted for a more realistic 7. Bruno Tonioli met in the middle with an 8.

Why do people insist on using male pronouns in reference to Chastity? She can inject herself with all the hormones in the world, but her chromosomes won’t change. You can’t reverse nature.

Chaz was nothing more than another Kirstie WHALE Alley trying to dance – wanted to show the world another man….what a freak. He will never ever be called a man in the world I come from – he is nothing but a freak – no a He, not a She, an IT….maybe he can go join the Addams Family as Cousin IT. ABC should be absolutely ashamed they ever invited this freak on their show.

Homophobia isn’t a fear of gay people, it’s a fear of being perceived as gay or of being gay.
Unless you’re fantasizing about having sex with Chaz Bono, why do you care about his gender?
I couldn’t imagine the thought process that results in making a decision to physically change genders. I do know that from a matter of etiquette someone who lives their life as a man should be referred to using male pronouns.

@ Mike, why do you choose to enable someone a mentally ill person such as Chastity Bono by referring to her with male pronouns? She will always be a female, no matter how many surgeries has performed & pharmaceuticals she ingests. She will not reverse what nature intended. Just because she wants to live her life as a man doesn’t mean she should be called a “he” or “him”… if she chooses to live her life as a frog, should I then call her “Kermit”?

it’s a dance competition. it’s not about gay or transgender or whether they can really dance or not. people vote. and it’s about who gets the most votes which is based more on popularity. granted we are all convinced there’s some tricky counting to keep up the ratings.

Chaz was treated like any other man by everyone on the show, including wounded Vet J.R. Martinez. Of course the knuckle-draggers are howling like beat dogs. They can’t stand it when REAL men show us who’s normal. That leaves somebody to be the insecure freaks, and it sure ain’t Chaz.

Just FYI GOD DON”T MAKE MISTAKES!!!!! He makes us just want He wants us to be… Everyone tries to justify their sin, me included but being gay or trying to change your physical appearance is against the Bible and God. My daughter “professed” to be gay for a short period of time then she realized that she was so wrong and has seen the light. I think society pushes their sins on the weaker person who is just searching for something. I boycotted the show this year for this very reason because I felt like they were exploiting the fact of the transgender crap. People learn to be comfortable with how God made you. He made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. Read it in Genesis. Being “gay” is a lie straight from the devil. Poor Sonny Bono is probably rolling over in his grave. It’s heartbreaking to see people do this to themselves. And then we let gay couples adopt children or have babies. God is for sure shaking His head at the shape the world is in right now. I truly suggest you coming to a loving saving grace knowledge of Jesus Christ before it’s eternally too late. Hell is very real.

People are actually getting upset that people actually refer to a woman who was born female as a woman.I will never refer to her as a man because that is not what she was born as.I feel that many Gays try to brainwash people unto accepting lie as truth but I won’t compromise the truth for these confused people.One ignorant poster even assumes that I am “White and Redneck” because of what I say about this Chaz woman which truly shows an ignorance beyond measure.

I don’t watch that show and I have nothing against this woman Chaz but many Gays will always act as if “all people talk harshly against this woman Chaz” and they will say it’s because she wants to change into a man but from what I have read and heard from people that actually watch the show,she is said to be a really slow and stiff dancer but of course many will use her homosexuality as an excuse for getting bounced.
I will never say anything personally against her for being Gay but I won’t let anyone tell me that I have to refer to her as a he when she was born female,that makes no sense to me and I refuse to participate in that delusion.

I think someone already said it earlier, if so, it bears repeating. You hear many say that gays were born that way, so society should accept it. On the OTHER HAND, you have people like Chaz who were born a gender, yet they have surgery to be the opposite and society is supposed to embrace the change.
Chaz abviously did not accept her female-born body. So, which is it? Accept the way you were supposedly born OR not? ‘Cause its looking more and more like the case of “accept my ACTIONS”– which is quite different than putting it on one’s birth.

The folks who celebrate this woman wanting to live as a man are the moral relativists & enablers that are contributing to the degradation of our society. Tolerance is a good thing, but only to a point. I will not defend her choices, nor will I berate the people who find her choices to be terribly odd and indecent. She is obviously a tortured soul, and she is quite possibly insane. I find it sad that she has desecrated herself… physically, mentally & emotionally. Sad.

I have nothing against gays or transgender folks, but I could not watch this season. I can’t stand to watch the judges another year! Same old comments, same old scores, etc. It’s way too predictable. I watched the first show and decided I had enough. I AM ready for American Idol though.

I think it is interesting that a lot of you are saying that we should ignore Chaz’s transgender status. I personally do not care what Chaz chooses, it is his body and it is not impacting my pursuit of life, liberty or happiness. The fact remains however that he is not a good dancer and the only reason he survived six weeks is because of his transgender status, period. DWTS is not a dance competition, it is a popularity contest voted on the all of us. You can’t say on one hand ignore his transgender status and then embrace his 6 week survival, it is one in the same.

Lots of bible thumping in this blog. Doesn’t it also say something about judging others? Personally I don’t care if Chaz wants to be straigh, gay, male or female, it is Chaz’s choice and not for anyone else. If God detemines she has sinned in making this choice, then God will pass judgement, it isn’t for me or anyone else to decide. Her decision has no bearing on me at all, and most likely none on all you people who are trying to do God’s work here. If this decision makes her happy, good for her, and like I said if in God’s eyes doing so is a sin, let Him pass judgement, not you.
