Ron Artest was up first Monday night and first out Tuesday night. CREDIT: ABC
For the first time in the 13 seasons of “Dancing With the Stars,” an athlete was ousted first. In this case, it’s Ron Artest, who inexplicably changed his name to Metta World Peace.
The Los Angeles Laker with the blonde hair and clompish moves had the lowest judges’ score of 14 and obviously couldn’t generate the votes to make up the difference.
Although Atlantan Nancy Grace was paired with Artest at the bottom, she wasn’t necessarily the celebrity with the second-lowest votes.
Surprisingly, George Clooney’s ex Elisabetta Canalis made it past the first week despite a tepid performance and virtually no name recognition. Ditto with Rob Kardashian, someone I thought would be out early as well.

Well that was a tough choice! Metta was bad, but Rob Kardashian needs to go quick- he’s quite full of himself. Nancy Grace needs to wear her hair like that MUCH more often!

Unfortunately, I got a chance to watch Artest’s dance a second time tonight when my wife was viewing the DVR of the show.
I still needed to bleach my eyes to erase that image of him dancing. Many times the viewers get it wrong in the early going, but this time I agree wholeheartedly.
And Rob’s not all that bad a dancer, but his personality lacks just about everything.
And Nancy’s just a very bad dancer. Not for lack of effort, but she’s got nothing going for her physically that can help her out. Just look at her and Chaz’s dances together. Both hefty, short people but he makes the moves she just didn’t show.

The right one went home first. He really didn’t even try, imo. Chaz looked like he was having a great time and so did Nancy Grace. People should lighten up. Or, record the entire program and then go back and watch only the dancers you want to see. Solves a lot of problems. Just saying.

We’ve watched the show in the past with some interest, the only “reality” show we will watch. This round, however, may indicate they are struggling for good contestants. This bunch includes strange people (Chaz), wannabe’s, and various other publicity hounds. there are a couple of interesting folks but not enough to grab the usual audience I’m afraid.

Just because NG was one of the last two standing doesn’t mean she had the second-lowest votes. Why was she in the poll? Because of her ATL connection? I’m glad she was one of the last two standing because people will think she had a low vote count and vote for her next week.
Why isn’t anybody talking about how bad 2.5 Men was? That show won’t last without Sheen. The reruns are GREAT!

Never mind! I just found the 2.5 Men blog. =) BTW — yes on Nancy’s hair! I think CNN needs to take a cue from ABC re: her hair, which looks great on DWTS!!!

MyPatootie, it’s a fully dressed man ballroom dancing on network television. It’s a shame that your sweet, pure, innocent family can’t watch that without obsessing over what his junk looks like.

I agree that this season’s cast is strange. I dont’ really know most of them. Elisabetta is only famous for dating George Clooney? That is scraping the bottom of the barrel… Two and a Half Men was funny until Ashton showed up. The funeral scene was hilarious. I don’t think they needed to bring in Ashton. The show would have survived without him.

You prejudiced, bigoted morons who have a problem with Chaz need to get over it already! There are all kinds of people in this world and just because you are a bigot doesn’t mean people of all walks of life should not have the same opportunities, because it make YOU uncomfortable. Get over it – it is not about you!

I will say that the overall quality of the dancers for a first night was pretty high. Almost everyone showed promise, which can’t be said for previous seasons.

Get over it….. I realize there are all kinds of people in the world, and my personal views are not going to change that, so not accepting that fact would mean I am not in touch with reality. That being said, I do not have to approve of their choices, and I certainly don’t have to allow it to be piped into my home.

Newsflash My choice…the real world doesn’t care if you watch DWTS or any other show that has people on it who you do not approve of. Why judge people? You have not walked a step in their shoes. I’m hoping you are not basing your judgement on the Bible because Jesus never judged any one…in fact he came to save us from judgement so if that is your problem, try reading the words of the Lord again.

Biggest Loser was great last night.
The new guy from Atlanta was hilarious. He’s not a Bob but he did his thing. Looking forward to the rest of the season. Oh DWTS? I don’t consider those people Stars but D-List people. No one is really relevant. Chaz is only popular because of his/her parents and that sex change thing. Artest is embarrassing. Rob Kardashian? Hmmmm, aren’t we on like a Kardashian overload already? Nancy, Nancy, Nancy…it’s hard to envision her dancing. I hope she does well though. I’ll read the blogs as I see them.

Good morning.
@DW – yes, Biggest Loser was great last night.
So glad Metta World Peace, a/k/a Ron Artest, was booted off. He’s arrogant, conceited, volatile and a horrible, stiff dancer. I am going to love Carson. He is hysterical. More like the male version of Cloris Leachman.
I like the strange mixup of the cast.

I agree with “My Choice”. Some of us don’t want to see he/she Chaz dancing on TV. The only reason he/she is on is because it wants to be a man. What sane woman wants to be a man?

Chaz needs more exposure to improve is image, and his “Speaker” business that he is in. That is the reason, why he’s in DWTS. Personally, i dislike the motivational speakers, the real estate “get rich” people, etc. It is nothing, but lies. They did not get rich by what they have been preaching, but by selling stuff that the desperate, or naive people buy from them. As far as Chaz -just look at him how sorry he is, plus all the the fake smiles, making the great image, “having great time”, etc., etc. Please..

Wow The Lawyer… I had no idea you knew Chaz Bono personally! Perhaps you should dig a little deeper idiot… He is a motivational speaker for kids dealing with biological gender identity issues… you know, helping kids not kill themselves because they are attacked and maligned by society for not being perfect little straight people who fit the mold. What do you do? Chase ambulances and brag about how straight you are?

Donna P. your ignorance is BLINDING. Just because your life is perfect and you never dealt with the issues a transgendered person deals with does not diminish their worth. You are a judgmental and mean person and I hope your kids don’t inherit those traits… there are already far too many bullies on this planet. Maybe if you took the time to learn about others rather than reverting to your 8th grade, mean girl self you might learn more about other people’s ordeals… and a little something more about yourself. Until then you will just be a mean, spiteful and above all UGLY human being.

Yes – I knew back when Ron Artest jumped on his coach and tried to strangle him with his bare hands that he would not make much of a ballroom dancer. You could just see it – so I don’t know why anyone is surprised. Although I would not have wanted to be the one to give him the news.

Hopefully, That Disgraceful Grace Will Be Next

She is fat, ugly, no-talent, no-brains and a DISGRACE TO MANKIND. Why is she on the show! But those kids she claims are hers are cute; a surrogate probably had them. Hope she doesn’t teach them to be a fat behind, like she is. Grace will never get our votes; she needs to be off the show, with her ugly self.
