This past spring, Atlanta was home to the ultimate “Dancing With the Stars” winner Hines Ward.
Could Atlanta resident and HLN host Nancy Grace make it a two-fer?
TMZ reports that Grace has begun rehearsing in Atlanta for the show. ABC will officially announce the cast tonight during “Bachelor Pad” and we’ll update this item with the entire cast list then.
UPDATE at 9:50 p.m. EST: The entire cast for season 13 is Rob Kardashian, Nancy Grace, Chaz Bono, J.R. Martinez (actor), Hope Solo (soccer), Elisabeta Canalis (George Clooney’s ex) Ricki Lake, Ron Artest, Kristin Cavallari, Chynna Phillips, David Arquette, Carson Kressley. That’s a pretty typical cast.
Grace, who hosts her HLN show nightly at 8 p.m., usually tapes her show in Atlanta. It’s unclear how her schedule would change if she has to fly out to Los Angeles every week once the show begins. (This past season, Wendy Williams wasn’t helped by her need to criss-cross the country every week.)
If she were still doing her Atlanta-based syndicated show “Swift Justice With Nancy Grace,” she would not have had time to do “Dancing With the Stars.” But this past spring, she lost that show after the production company moved it from Atlanta to Los Angeles. She was replaced by Clark County (Las Vegas) District Court Judge Jackie Glass.
At the same time, Grace has been in litigation with a former colleague Patricia Caruso, who sued Grace in March, claiming Grace reneged on a promise to make her an executive producer of “Swift Justice.” That case is still active.
With her take-no-prisoners approach and signature snarl, Grace is someone people love to hate, but her hard-core fans might keep her around awhile, whether she has any “grace” or not on the dance floor. Think Kate Gosselin a couple of seasons ago.
