The station as True Oldies focused on 1964 to 1974 songs from March 1, 2008 until Thanksgiving 2010. Since then the focus has been more 1969  to 1979.

Just curious….is there a reason that there’s no data on Christian stations?

@Kirk You’d have to ask Mediabase 24/7. The data simply wasn’t there.

We don’t need stats to tell us what we already know. Atlanta radio sucks….we get it.

Major oversight to this list
Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty and In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins are played 5 to 10 times a day each in Atlanta even though these artists have many songs to choose from!?!

I’m surprised that “Stairway to Heaven” didn’t appear on any list.

How is there no Skynyrd on there? Judging by some of the people I see around town on a daily basis, I would assume the Top 10 are all Skynyrd songs.

This is why I only listen to my Ipod. And yep, Stairway AND Sweet Home Alabama are in the top 5 on it.

No pop culture for me, thanks..I like my brain cells alive.

Interesting how some stations have played their #1 song over 4,000 times while at other stations they’ve played their #1 over 2,000 times. Tells you how much those stations just constantly play the same things. And that is why I don’t listen to local radio. SiriusXM has so many choices for any mood.

OK, Here is a trivia question for all of you older rockers… When 96 rock hit the airwaves in 1973, what was the very first song they played?

Hint: Think English Invasion

And Rodney, is there no historical data for 99x? I’m guessing Foo Fighters would knock everyone out, given the way the promoters paid 99x to play them — probably 4 of their top 5.

I recall the early 70s on Atlanta radio and WQXI. The once played “Joy to the World” by 3 Dog Night back-to-back 15 times in one afternoon. We were really stoned and thought that the record was skipping.

Loved that song in 72′ “Jerimiah was a bullfrog”

I haven’t listened to 5 minutes of 96.1 since the change.

I think 97.1/The River only has about 10 songs that they play everyday, over and over. never thought I would get tired of hearing the Eagles or Skynyrd but the drive it into the ground !!!

I am surprised “Hotel California” by the Eagles isn’t on this list. I remember years ago 99x would only play “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana, some song from the 10 album by Pearl Jam and Soundgarden and Audioslave. And 95.5 the Beat played Beyonce’s “irreplaceable” every hour. I would love to see 95.5 the Beat’s played songs.

No America Pie by Don McLean on 97.1 ? Hell they play that song every hour on the hour don’t they?

This just goes to show you how much overplay the Kings of Leon song “Use Somebody” is getting on Star94. It cracks the top 5 with over 4,000 plays with songs that are a decade old or more. Even though it itself is only 2 years old.

A) How is this a story?
B) How does any PD in Atlanta have a job? Take a risk, play something new.
C) Does any of the rock stations play anything but male groups? And, no, Heart doesn’t count.
