Youngblood returns to Kiss 104.1 August 20
After nearly five months off the air, Youngblood will be back on R&B station Kiss 104.1 this Saturday morning starting at 7 a.m.
Youngblood, who objected to a salary cut in April and left, said in an interview that he and Kiss were “able to compromise, cut it in the middle and work it out.”
He talked to other stations but in the end, he felt Kiss was the best place for him to be.
Fans of Youngblood flooded the station with protests.
“We’re very excited to have him back,” said Tony Kidd, Cox Radio Atlanta vice president of programming who runs Kiss. “He’s been in this marketplace a long time. And people love the way he tells stories, the way he delivers the music. People view him as a friend. He’s a staple.”
Youngblood has hosted Spotlight Gold on the station for two decades primarily with soul classics from the 1960s and 1970s.

I was one of those who complained. Saturdays was my cleaning morning listening to the radio. I literally took them off my preset stations in the car. Thank goodness we listeners still have a voice in what we listen to on Saturday in Atlanta!!!

I am in class working working on my doctorate, and I yelled out in class.. YES! When I read this announcement. I am certain my colleagues think that I am crazy. It hasn’t been the same without Youngblood. Since you left, I havent’s tried to try to be up at 7:00 am. I just went on my way. The other D.J., just talked way TOOO loud so early in the morning, and more appropirate for the party scene in the evening. Furthermore, there wasn’t a story behind the music. Youngblood…I could not be happier. Thanks to the KISS 104.1 and to Youngblood for ‘compromising’, a term that seems like a weakness in the political climate in which we live. I will be there on Saturday morning, and I know the ratings will be going through the roof on Saturday morning.I am so happy! O.K., back to statistics.
