Atlanta has never had so many TV shows in production before, I figure I’ll update you on what is going on here. I’ve got about 25 here and it’s probably not complete:

Shows in production that I know of that are active

MTV’s “Teen Wolf” (coming back for a second season)

VH1’s “Single Ladies (will be back for a second season)

Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva” (third season just wrapped and is on air)

The CW’s “Vampire Diaries” (third season in production and will be back next month)

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” (second season in production, set to debut Oct. 16)

USA’s “Necessary Roughness” (first season on air and in production. Chances look good for renewal)

TLC “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” (on air now, third season virtually guaranteed)

TLC “Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids” (first season just concluded, second season in production now)

TLC “Pink Pastry” (first six episodes in production now, set to debut in November)

Discovery “Auction Kings” (second season set to debut this week)

BET’s “Reed Between the Lines” starring Malcolm Jamal-Warner and Tracee Ellis Ross (upcoming new series on October 11)

BET’s “Let’s Stay Together” (in production for a second season, date not announced yet)

BET’s “The Game” (in production for second season on BET, date not announced yet)

BET’s “Born to Dance” (on air now in its first season)

BET’s “Toya: A Family Affair” (on air, first season concluding now)

BET’s “Sunday Best” (fourth season on air now)

FX “Archer” (most of the animation is done here, third season forthcoming with a few episodes this fall and more in 2012)

Adult Swim “Aqua Unit Patrol Force 1″ (formerly known as “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” has been airing this summer)

Adult Swim “Squidbillies” (sixth season set to debut Sept. 11)

TNT “NBA on TNT” (will be back if the NBA comes back, with Shaquille O’Neal the newest member)

Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” (fourth season forthcoming this fall, no specific date yet)

Syndication “Family Feud” (in production for second season starring Steve Harvey, first season shot in Atlanta, will be back with new episodes next month)

HGTV’s “Mega Dens” starring Anitra Mecadon (season two forthcoming)

TBS’s “Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns” (season five debuting soon)

TBS’s “Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse” (new series forthcoming)

Most of Robert Osborne’s bits on TCM are shot at Turner Studios

Shows that are in limbo

Food Network’s “Have Cake Will Travel” featuring Atlanta’s own Ashley Vicos (first season aired but no announcement of a second season yet)

Shows that have left Atlanta or have been canceled

BET’s “The Mo’Nique Show” after two seasons

Syndicated: “Swift Justice With Nancy Grace” after one season (moved to Los Angeles with another judge)

Food Network’s “Good Eats” (Alton Brown is shutting it down this year)

@Matt Franklin & Bash is shot in Los Angeles. The pilot was shot here but the main actors took pay cuts so they could justify shooting it in LA and closer to their homes.

Who watches this garbage, I’m always amazed at the trash on tv and those that watch it! Take for instance: USA’s “Necessary Roughness”, what gives?
